Filet Mignon
Roxy M.

The filet was cooked as requested. It was juicy and had a good flavor. The green beans were perfectly steamed. The grits were good too. The salmon was moist and flavorful. They have biscuits that when are hot, taste just like KFC. Melt in your mouth. It was busy but the service was great. The atmosphere was awesome because it was a big Ole Miss football weekend!

Grilled Salmon and Pesto Pasta

I keep coming back here trying to convince myself to like it. After four times getting over salted food and underwhelming service, it seems like people come here for the name and ambiance. Plating is decent and the pasta was okay, but I have not came here once without being assaulted by sodium.

Filet Mignon

Considering the location of McEwen's, I was expecting more. When I can throw a stone and hit ten 4 or 5 star restaurants, I wouldn't come back here. Our server was lovely but clearly overmatched and it took 25 minutes for our appetizer of a tomato salad to arrive. Not a big deal but we hadn't even ordered yet, 35 minutes in while surrounded by empty tables. I ordered the filet which was good but I can only image that the 5 pieces of a potato and the once green beans were placed under the steak as a decoration and not to be eaten.

Undercooked and salty Chicken Paillarde.

Third time was not a charm! Chicken was so salty and undercooked, it was inedible. Overall the entire restaurant needs a refresh and deep cleaning and they need to focus of better food and service. Do you self a favor and enjoy the many amazing restaurant in Oxford and leave this poseur to the corn dog lovers!

Pan-Seared Chilean Seabass

My Seabass was delicious, ravioli was so good. Fried oysters were greasy. Wine and drinks were a little slow. Overall enjoyed the restaurant.

Sesame Encrusted Tuna salad

I felt like I robbed this restaurant after this plate!! So so good and for everything that was in it I was thinking I would get a bigger bill. their bar selection is also pretty fabulous with great cocktails as well. McEwens is a great fine dining experience, but I wouldn't say for the pickiest eaters. They have a French twist on seafood that I personally love.

We sat at bar to celebrate our 51st anniversary. The service was very good, We enjoyed the chicken with Alabama white BBQ sauce.

Some of the best food I've had in Oxford with HUGE portions. Bartender is also amazing at his job.

My absolute favorite dinner spot in Oxford! I don't even need to see a menu. Just bring me a plate.

I like the vibe of the restaurant- decent food and a little less expensive than all the other over-priced seats in Oxford-

Just like the cookie, except without the random guilt trip from a little kid outside Walmart giving you the hard sell while you're trying to buy meal-prep chicken for the week. And yes, I realize I just compared buying ice cream to avoiding Girl Scouts. Stay focused. The ice cream here is just ridiculously good. Great flavors, great texture, and exactly what you want after dinner, before dinner, or honestly whenever you happen to be walking around the Square and decide calories don't count in Oxford. The Samoas flavor is the standout for me, but this is one of those places where you could probably order almost anything and be happy. Oxford has plenty of great places to eat, but every trip here should either start or end at Oxford Creamery. Preferably both.

The Oxford creamery is a quaint little spot that has an old school southern vibe. We saw My Big Fat Greek wedding as a menu item so we obviously had to go with a large order of that in a waffle cone bowl. My big fat Greek wedding was absolutely decadent and delicious. This item is an absolute must try, with pistachio and baklava and honey and vanilla ice cream, this treat is a 10/10. The Oxford creamery knocks it out of the park with this desert. An absolute delicious treat. Truly magnificent. Stop in to see the friendly staff and tray a tasty treat while you're there.

Gotta say, yikes. The ice cream itself is fine, no complaints, just like any other marble slab…read more However, the service is terrible. When I went to this location there were 4 women working, and it was around 9:30. So I got in line and picked out my ice cream and was having it mixed. While this was occurring, the door opened and in came about 3 people. The woman mixing my ice cream loudly groans, and says she's never getting off. I asked her what time they closed (because I try not to come into restaurants right as they close because I recognize they want to go home too) and she said 11. It was like 9:35. She had a whole hour at the very least before she got off. This attitude of complaint for doing the required work was pretty standard among the women. For instance, one woman complained that she had just chopped the brownies for tomorrow and now she had to use them today because they were out. That's kinda how food service is, you gotta replace the used product. And all of this complaining was done easily in earshot, right in front of my place. Lastly, when my friend and I left the creamery, it was around 10 and the women had most definitely started closing down. They were washing things, putting things away. I would not be surprised if after we left, an hour before they close, they locked the doors and called it a day. Whoever owns this location, hire better staff.

The store closes at 9 pm, so I'm not sure why they had already put away almost all of the cookies and cleaned the ice cream surface to where they couldn't mix anymore. They didn't even apologize. Just acted as if shutting the store down 24 minutes before closing was a totally fine thing to do. Will not return.
