So I went to the Ronald McDonald's out of desperation after a ride to Portland. As I was paying for my breakfast, the lady at the payment window kept repeating something that I couldn't understand as she didn't speak English well. I asked her four times to repeat it and I finally deciphered that she was asking me to donate one dollar to Ronald McDonald house. Of course I donated a dollar Toronto McDonald house, it's a great charity. Then something just kind of bothered me about it so when I looked at my receipt, I figured it probably showed no donation at all. But she did donate $.73. That means she pocketed $.27. That's not grand theft or anything, but you figure she does that 100 times a day she's making more money than I am. Just saying, I think the management needs to take a look at these people. Please check your sandwich BEFORE you bite into it! one star only because zero is not an option we found a foreign object in our quarter pounder last Wed. it was awful! I didn't know how bad it can feel when you think you are eating food and bite into the sandwich and it's not! Drove back to return the sandwich, no manager on site, someone came to the door, was polite but totally didn't know how to handle this sort of situation and immediately was dismissive of the entire incident. As my daughter later said to me, the employee couldn't have cared less, politely, however didn't appear to be concerned at all about what just happened and dismissed the entire thing as no big deal. I have literally never ever felt the need to write a review. This is my first one since having a yelp account for 8 years and I doubt anyone is going to read this and even if the management did to decide to read this, they wouldn't care since that would be in character for this McDonalds. In my 25 years of life I have never dealt with customer service this bad EVER. I work for DoorDash so I unfortunately have to come here quite a bit even though I dread it every time. (If I don't accept orders from here, it affects my acceptance rate). I have never waited less than 15 minutes for any of my orders. EVERY time without fail I'm asked to wait in the drive thru pick up parking spots where I then wait at LEAST 10 minutes, usually more. I can understand when it's super busy but when there is literally no cars in front of me?! What am I waiting for if you have NO other orders? On top of that the lobby has ALWAYS been closed since I've lived here and I've probably been to this McDonald's over 50 times. It can't be staffing issues because I always see at least 5 employees inside. What are they doing?! In addition, sometimes I wait at the drive thru speaker for minutes before anyone says a word or until I repeatedly have to say "Hello? HELLO?!" and then finally some clearly annoyed employee answers with "What do you want?" No hello, how are you, what can I get started for you today, etc. Then when I tell them I'm picking up an order and give the order number they either reply with hostility or don't say anything at all. Not to mention they have messed up my own orders several times when I only ever order ONE THING being an iced coffee. How do you continuously mess that up? One time I came with my sis in law and we had to wait at the second window for about 10 minutes because the guy taking the orders put our order in wrong and even then they fixed it, they still forgot items or forgot to take off items we asked for and when we pointed it out the young girl behind the counter started talking crap about us to the other employees as if we couldn't hear her and even called her coworker an idiot straight to our face. Who trains your employees?! Usually I'm understanding of teenagers acting like teenagers but this goes further than this. Clearly they are not being trained well or not being trained at all. It's one thing to have one or two not so great employees but when each and every one of them is either rude, moronic or both, it's a MANAGEMENT problem. If you are too busy to process DoorDash orders then TURN IT OFF. Because now you are also messing with DoorDash delivery drivers acceptance rates and customer ratings and for some of us, this is our livelihood and how we make money. If I could I'd give this McDonald's a negative star. Every time we go here which is once in a blue moon when our kid want a happy meal..there has not been a single time where we haven't had our order completely wrong or AT LEAST 1 item missing. This time we get home to a happy meal missing filled with fries, missing the cheeseburger and two meals completely wrong. Typically I wouldn't go through the trouble of calling a McDonalds back but it's happened so many times you would think nobody has ever said anything. I spoke to the manager Shawn and he told us there wasn't much he could do other than he'd talk to the crew, but realistically the GM Theresa Hunt is more likely the only person who can get them to take it seriously.. what?! Oh and Theresa only works Thursday's so if you need to call her that's the only time she works. Don't spend your money here cause chances are you'll be screwed by not getting the items you ordered. Or ALWAYS pull over to the side, unwrap every single item and take the 50% they ruin on average back in before you drive home. Guys and gals... get it together. Read your screen. They recently remodeled. The interior is nice, the exterior is modern, but they removed the outdoor play structure and put in mobile order pickup spots and drive through waiting spots (previously in the lot), which require either backing in or backing out - in a driveway/private road shared with other businesses, and also where a portion of the drive thru traffic will exit. They did keep outdoor seating - given how many days here are too wet for it, I don't see the point - and it's modern and pretty (at least now, while new). The fence doesn't fully surround it (or even mostly) so it's not a place to sit with very young children even if the weather is decent. Inside they added digital ordering boards in case you don't want to talk to staff. Outside they now have two drive through lanes instead of one. This hasn't appreciably sped up the drive through process, though - I spend more time waiting *after* ordering and less *before* but the total wait is about the same. Going in and ordering seems to be slower, maybe because more drive through orders are waiting at one time "ahead" of you? The food is as expected and the staff is friendly and pleasant to deal with. But the remodel is a lovely-looking thing that reduced the actual utility of the restaurant. Maybe this will help me reduce my McDonald's habit? read more
