Absolutely average is just about every way…read more We had spent the day in Parkersburg and had this place recommended a couple times The restaurant is a typical tavern looking seat yourself restaurant. It seems to not know what it wants to be. Is it a pub? Is it a sports bar? Overall clean and comfortable. We were there for lunch and it was fairly busy and VERY loud. Definitely people talking at "bar" levels. The menu is a smallish sandwich focused spread. We had a Rueben and a NET Burger. Both were large and as stated average. The strange thing is sandwiches do not come with anything on the side. Just a sandwich on a plate. No chips, no fries, no pickle spear. Just a sandwich. We did order onion rings as a appetizer they were pretty good, butI just found it odd the way our sandwiches were presented , and odder that our server never mentioned this. When talking about service, this is the one place that is not average. It is below average It was semi busy, but our server was often missing in action. Aside from the not mentioning the no accompaniment to sandwiches, she disappeared for 20 minutes as we were awaiting our check to leave. We actually had to ask a different server for our check. Over all service was poor, food and facilities were just OK-ish. Probably would not return. Based on observations locals love this place, but our visit was lackluster

It wasn't very busy, especially for a Friday night, but service still felt like an afterthought. Our bartender/server seemed much more focused on pouring herself beers and chatting than paying attention to customers. There were two people behind the bar who were also serving tables, but most of the time it felt like they were more interested in hanging out with their regulars than checking on guests. They were out of traditional wings, which was disappointing. My husband said the boneless wings weren't very good. The homemade salsa and beer cheese were actually the highlights and were both really good. The rest of the food missed the mark. My chicken Caesar wrap came with soggy chicken and tasted like it had been drenched in Italian dressing instead of Caesar. The fries were limp and soggy. We spent what felt like forever trying to get someone's attention just to ask for ranch so we could add some flavor. The beer itself was decent, and I'd probably come back for that. But based on this visit, I wouldn't come back for the food, and I definitely wouldn't go in expecting good service.

Along with Garlic Cheesecurds. Then as I had teased Gabby our severer I would follow coffee with donuts. I had the Donut Stout and my spouse had the Mexican Lager. So of course we had to have the Bavarian Petrels to go with it. Of course by this time the creative ideas start to flow so our next choice was a beer we shared a 1/4 of coffee stout and 3/4 of donut stout. Oh my! Good thing I am retired or this would my coffee choice each morning! We both loved the mix and then I talked to Zach about how I hoped both will be available in January when I am back in the area. He liked my input or talked like he did. I am so glad that we have a local brewery for when family come in but that we can stop by and say Hi. So when it comes to service it was excellent, thank you Gabby. When it it comes to the food it was awesome and the decor. I still want the lights in my home or at least may she shed if my spouse won't rewire the house.

Lots of selection, whether hot dogs or burgers, so be ready if the line is rushing through on a lunch break. Apparently the special here is a root beer slush, which my buddy got and was happy with. I ended up getting a burger and hot dog, both were on a toasted bread, which is a little bit unique. Loved that the menu is pretty pickle-forward. Flavors were on-point, the bread could have been a little less-firm, but maybe it's because I took a couple minutes to step to my burger and it firmed up like drier toast. Kind of wished I got the chili dog, but was completely stuffed before the end of the meal, so wasn't able to further gorge. Will be stopping here again when we make a dedicated trip to Parkersburg later in the summer.

I am not one to post a bad review for a business, but after my recent experiences with Burger King…read moreat Emerson Commons, I feel it is important to share what happened. Recently, I went to Burger King and purchased my 3-year-old a chicken nugget kids meal. When I got home, I discovered that they had not given me chicken nuggets at all and had substituted jalapeño poppers instead. I called the restaurant and was told that a coupon would be sent to me in the mail. Unfortunately, that coupon never arrived. I later went back to Burger King and ordered another kids meal. When I got home, I realized that half of the food was missing. I called the restaurant again and spoke with the MOD. I explained the situation, and he told me to provide my name and stop by at my convenience to receive a free kids meal. The next time I decided to get Burger King, I went through the drive-thru and explained the situation to the manager. I was met with a very combative and argumentative response. She insisted that the previous issue had not occurred at that restaurant. I explained that this is the only Burger King I go to because it is on my way home from work, but she continued to argue with me. She eventually told me, "I'll do it this time, but going forward I will not do this. If you have any issues, you will need to follow the process." The problem is that I was following the process. I contacted the restaurant, spoke with the MOD, and was specifically told to provide my name and stop in to receive the replacement meal. The manager then came to the window and was extremely rude while giving me the food I had just purchased. The entire interaction was unnecessary and could have been handled in a much more professional and respectful manner. Burger King needs to do a better job of treating its customers professionally and providing a positive customer experience. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What matters is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled made an already frustrating experience even worse. I also noticed that the manager did not provide me with a receipt for my purchase today. Given the way the interaction went, it left me feeling that the receipt was intentionally withheld. I hope Burger King takes this feedback seriously and addresses how customer concerns are handled at this location. I am not looking for anything special--I simply expect to be treated with professionalism and respect when I bring a legitimate concern to a business.
