Tow service was called to the scene of an accident that occurred on I-94 in Kalamazoo County. The next day, I called and requested to go into my personal vehicle, in order to remove personal items. The office person friendly, but it took over 1-hour of waiting to have access to my car. Evidently it was moved from the main lot by the office to another lot, due to storage issues...but over 1-hr wait? Some time ago, my van was stolen and he subsequently ran over and killed a mother of three at Continental in Kalamazoo, MI. McDonald's picked the van up and held it for over two years while the case when through the system. They wanted thousands of dollars to get the van back. I refused to pay and they kept it longer. I finally agreed to pay $500 to get the van back but because of the horrific tragedy of the mother getting killed, I could not drive it. I had a very distant nephew that said he scrapped the van and showed me a picture of the alleged van being scraped. If I could give a negative rating I would, I was in an accident May 22 2023 and went to get my car May 23 2023 where they harassed me as to why I wanted to get possessions out of my car firstly and then when I went to pay the $205 that they had stated on the phone for the payment to get my car out of the lot since my vehicle was drivable out of the lot instead they charged me an extra $30 for a "gate fee" even though they said if I was able to drive my car out of the gate there would be no extra fee. On top of that there was not supposed to be a towing fee since I did not request the towing. Yet I was charged a $145 towing fee. I had to wait over an hour and a half in 80 degree weather when I'm 7 months pregnant to get the gate unlocked to be able yo get my vehicle. The service is terrible, management is extremely unprofessional and rude to put it in the slight. I would not recommend this towing company for anyone even if you have the upmost respect and patience for there business. Better off taking a ticket from the cops for not being able to move your vehicle. I hope to NEVER be in the presence of ANYONE who works there again. I was helping him through the process and it took us a solid 2 hours to get things done. However, I'd like to give credit to all the people we met throughout our experience. I'd like to mention the lady at the service desk for the ability to deal with frustrated costumers which comes due the nature of the work they do. She was helpful and calm throughout our conversation. I'd also like to mention Justin who was handling unlocking the Lot's gate for us. He was very professional and friendly and quite frankly a great person to talk to. He was able to relate to the frustration position we come from. Had vehicle towed Sunday night 06/16/2024 because of a weather related incident. I filed my claim that night. I called my insurance on Monday morning first thing and we did a three way call because they said they just needed me to give a verbal release over the phone. I gave the release and thought that was the end. I got a call on Tuesday from my insurance that McDonald's had turned away the person sent by my insurance telling them that I needed to come into the shop in person with $123 in cash, my license, and registration before they would release the car. I had my insurance call them again and they would not budge. I don't have the money or a way of getting there until Thursday morning which by that time they told my agent it would be $150 in cash (insurance said they would reimburse me). Why would I have to give you a verbal release on Monday if it didn't matter? Why would you not mention that the conditions would change for still some unknown reason after I gave a verbal release on Monday? Making it more difficult for people already not having the best of circumstances is predatory and malicious. The multiple agents I talked to said that the majority of shops just need a verbal release over the phone and would allow for payments over the phone. But you need someone who already doesn't have a vehicle to come into the shop in person and pay cash?? Blew the clutch in my 13 mustang gt. Tustin was 100% the best tow driver i've ever had. Its on aftermarket suspension making it low to the ground and hard to tow. He was super cautious and careful. Let me know he was taking his time so he didn't damage any part of the vehicle. Even going the extra mile to make sure the front didn't scrape by throwing wood under the wheel though it had clearance. This is important as their window has 2 conflicting signs: Cash only and cards accepted. The waiting area was way too small and offered no seating. No restrooms available. Have to say my experience with McDonalds is comical, disappointing, and utterly ridiculous! Called for a tow at 11:16, through Progressive...said it would be 90 minutes. At 1:04 I call them and they say it will be another 45 minutes to an hour...in the meantime progressive has called twice to see if they have come....nothing. At 3:26 progressive switched me to Graham's towing who I received a call from and said they would be there in 30 minutes.
