I came here for a quick breakfast, and got a lukewarm, gritty cup of coffee, and a pie with hair stuck to it. Obviously I wasn't expecting a five star gourmet experience, but that's bad even for fast food. I would give one star, but the customer service was great, and they made me a fresh pot of coffee and a new pie immediately. Very kind of them, and the new pie and coffee were above average for any McDonald's I've ever been to. So, if you want to risk it, you might end up with good food, or you might have to complain to the manager to get good food. read more

So, you know those places that you go to where you go only needing a few things but always walk out with more than you needed? Well this McDonalds is a lot like that. Each time I am here I have to turn down a pimp, a drug dealer, a crackhead, and someone trying to sell a "legitimate" cell phone or face plate to a car stereo. This is a favorite watering hole for pimps to feed their "employees" I know, its not fancy, but how does the song go? "it's hard out here for a pimp" But seriously, leave me alone people I just want to get to my fries before they get cold. If you do not feel you can handle the swings of a McDonalds in Tacompton right next to the court house and Tacoma jails, than you may want to only do drive thru or go elsewhere. What else is there to say about this McDonalds? It gets the bump from 3 stars because of the diverse cultural experience, but I never find myself in a situation where I am in desperate need of a double cheeseburger and some black tar heroin. Have no fear, if you love McDonalds I have found that there are no other participating locations where you can get such service. Came here on a Sunday at 8am. Some mentally ill guy on foot was yelling and blocking the drive through lane, demanding to be serve his coffee before work - didn't look like he had paid. He kept blocking until there were 5 cars stuck in the drive through lane and when he was confronted by staff he started cursing profanity at them. After 5 minutes he left. The staff apologized and offered the food for free. The situation was de-escalated and handled professionally. Thank you. read more

Best McDonald's Ever. Christian and I have come here for coffee and/or a sandwich at least once a week for the last 10 plus years. We were just saying that we have no recent memory of them ever screwing up our order. In addition, the staff there is friendly and I have never seen any of the staff members get the slightest bit nonplussed by some of the more interesting customers. It's great to see some of the same staff members there week after week, month after month. I am hoping this means they are treated well by the owners and management. The two stars, are for the nice woman who greeted me and helped me with my order. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and was waited on promptly I was even assisted with suggested sandwich. I did appreciate that. When's my order has arrived the woman who brought out the food was rude. Food was good, but the dining room was a bit scary. There was a lady in the washroom who had apparently been there for quite some time. When she exited the stall, she was very disheveled and looked as if she had just woken up. She began yelling incoherently at another woman in the bathroom and that prompted an employee to come into the bathroom and have her escorted out of the building. Following that there was another woman in the dining room itself who was shouting and another dinner asked her to not shout. Not a safe neighborhood, lots of odd people here. This is the closest McDonalds to where I live... a block away. If I go to McDonald's ever again... I will drive 4 miles away just to avoid the service and atmosphere of this location. Yes they just remodeled it but still dirty with homelessness and craziness. So if u don't want to lose your appetite... I would refrain from going in. That leaves the drive thru. First... their electronic menus are always down or don't show the menu as one employee said to me! They don't know how to work their headsets, as u will be waiting at one screen and no one will help u... while the other line is zooming through. If u manage to get ur order in... then u have the probability of getting the wrong food. I would say a 50% chance of that. All in all... one of the worst McDonald's I have been too but also the one I went to most so I am pretty sure this happens at most of them. Result from poor management and the changing culture of the corporation to try and broaden its clientele through menu changes. Why don't u stick to ur normal menu and quit implementing change every week and maybe ur services will improve and speed up... ever thought of that? Probably not! read more

Mcdonad's is Mcdonald's right? This location is really close to my work and easy for me to get in and out of on the go. I've been to a ton of different Mcdonald's restaurants in my time but this location is so different. They are the fastest, most friendly, and good quality out of any of the ones I've been to. I cannot even imagine the cliental they deal with on an hourly basis given that they are next to the jail. Hands down, the best McDonald's location on the map. read more

Are usually don't take time out of my valuable day to write a review but literally every time I come to this McDonald's something is wrong. One time I ordered McChicken no lettuce light mayo because my boyfriend is allergic to vegetable and instead they put light lettuce no mayo. Last night I went through the drive-through and a homeless man tried entering my mom and I's car. We lock the door and as we pull up to the first window my mom attempts to tell the worker what happened and that she was frazzled and that why you should call the police because the homeless man was trying to enter peoples cars. And it's scary at night. He laughed at her and said it wasn't our problem and honest to God had the worst attitude I've ever experienced. Then the manager came along and wasn't much better. The many many many many times I have called and made a complaint about my order they have told me that they can send me coupons in the mail and I've never received them. When I called to let them know that I have never received them they tell me there's nothing they can do about it. I will never go here again and I will be calling corporate. read more

Oh my GOD! I ordered my food and I was waiting at the window and she guy who was running the window came to it and said "she dropped your egg so it is going to be a few more minutes. Just pull around to the single door and your order will be right out." And I was okay with it. I pull around and 10 minutes later I look into the building and one of the guys was yelling at the guy who was running the window. I'm thinking to myself "omg this isn't professional." So the guy who was yelling at the window guy came out with my food and apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a feel meal card. I thanked him and he went back inside. What happend next really got me... I opened my bag and my medium fry was missing. So I go to the door and knocked and window guy opened it and I told him that my fry was missing. He turned around and started yelling at the guy who gave me my food! I then said "c'mon guys please stop this isn't professional at all. I saw you guys going at it from my car and this isn't okay." So the window guy gave me my fries and said to me "next time you want ur order fixed, step outside cause our lobby is closed" granted I had my foot wedged in so I can get my fries. I wasn't even standing in the damn lobby! They can review the cameras on that. And then I said okay that's fine and then window guy added "oh and we're brothers btw so..." and I said "I dont care. This is a business not home." And i walked out to my car. I'll be calling the store manager and corporate. This is why you dont hire siblings, husbands/wife, significant others, or even bestfriends. Every single time I come to this location the service is just terrible! There's so many homeless people in and out of it the other night came in to eat and a homeless man sat down with us begging for food and money. The only thing that sets this particular McDonald's apart is the sheer number of homeless people that the staff and management seem to simply ignore. Frankly after having gone once I will not be going back inside the dining room due to the strange sweat smell (reminiscent of the gym I go to) and lack of parking. read more

This location has always had issues with homeless and with the many living in subsidized housing nearby, but stays in business because it is right next door to the County/City municipal building and related government offices. Now, the kiosks and poor customer service have pushed me over the edge to never go back. I work in one of the local offices, and so visited this location multiple times a week because it is the closest and most convenient. However, since the "remodel" the seating makes no sense at all (there's less of it, and strangely situated), and they are forcing you to place orders at the kiosk. There is no way this is better! They have an employee standing there herding people to the kiosks, when they'd do better just taking the orders themself. The kiosk interface is clunky - if you aren't just ordering a standard quarter pounder meal, then you have to go in and out of multiple menus to get what you want. BUT the BIG ISSUE IS IF YOU ARE PAYING CASH, YOU HAVE TO WAIT IN THE LINE ANYWAY. It just takes your order, prints out a slip, and you have to take the slip and go stand in the line anyway just to pay... How is that in any way more convenient or efficient? It isn't, but they don't care about service any more. They just keep yelling at people to go use the kiosk. Really? That certainly isn't service, even for fast food. And blaming this on the increased minimum wage is a joke - McD corporate declared they'd do the kiosk thing everywhere by 2020 no matter what. And it doesn't save $ since they have an employee standing there to herd people and help them out anyway. At this location, you are ordering something yourself, then putting up with crazy dirty people as well. They frequently have to hire a security guard. And in the process, prices went up and selection went down? Quarter pounder and Big Mac are outdated choices at this point, but whatever. Ordering a side salad instead of fries takes like 6 or more extra touches in different menus? I should be able to just click on a main item, then click on a list of side items. The interface stinks. After being forced to use the kiosk today just to order a drink and pay with cash, I will never go back - and told the manager so as well. They were downright rude in how they were relating to customers. I'll pay extra $ to get something at the coffee shop closer to my office, even though it is slower and more expensive. They still know how to treat customers at the coffee shop. read more

I always feel kind of weird yelping a fast food restaurant but wanted to give credit to the staff here. Went at 11:15 on 9/19 through the drive through. I just moved downtown and so I've swung by here a few times. They've been the nicest staff by far any McDonald's I've been to. The girl at the first window was very friendly and started a small conversation while she ran my card. The girl at the second window was equally as nice and everyone had smiles. They've always been quick and very nice which probably isn't easy since I'm guessing they get a lot of sketchy people at this location. read more
