As a frequent visitor to McDonalds and other chains, I like trying to craft burgers to my liking. So I stopped by this fine Scottsburg establishment to grab a Coke and use some rewards for a cheeseburger. Right next door is a competitor famed for their single patty burgers. So for 56 cents I crafted a junior version of the competitor's sandwich. The McDonalds staff followed my instructions. They did a great job. The restaurant was clean. WiFi functioning. McDonald's made my order as they were supposed too. The driver with Instacart/uber eats did not pick up my order correctly. He did not get my whole order. The fries were cold and the drink and Big Mac were missing. Also it was handed off three times before I got it. This is unacceptable. read more

This experience was horrible. First off, there was no receipt paper, which I can understand but still should be accessible without going to the counter and causing more problems. Second, I went with a party bus so I understand if you might be rushing, but there were fries that were cold and not cooked at all. I come here a lot, like probably 5 days a week. I usually come for just a coke, but often end up using a deal or reward for a fry or something as well. I have 3 kids, so as you can imagine, I end up spending quite a bit of money on visits for more than a coke. I have never had any issues with any of the staff, other than this rude old man that usually works the morning shift. My first unnecessarily rude encounter with him was when a cashier failed to give me $35 in change from a $50 bill. I didn't notice right away, but came back into the restaurant the very next morning & asked if there had been any register overages. He had not been working the night before, but still immediately told me there hadn't been without even checking with the previous nights manager. I also asked if he might just look at the video footage & if he found I had been given the change afterall, to please let me know if he was able to see what I had done with it. He was very rude & clearly not wanting to help me from the very start, but took my phone number & said he would call me. I never heard another word & literally even days later when I encountered him, he looked at me with his miserable face & acted like I wasn't there. Today, I ordered 7 large waters & a coke at the front counter/register (I wanted the monopoly pieces). The cashier was a young girl who was very friendly. I went & filled my coke at the fountain & on my way out the door with my ONE coke & 7 empty cups, this man stops me to say, "if you get something besides water you have to pay for that". I respond that I had in fact ordered a coke along with the waters & he tells me that the order just says 7 waters. I respond that I didn't realize that & will of course pay for the coke, which is the actual TRUTH! I proceed to pay for the coke as he behaves as though I am lying or trying to get away with something. First off, I know people order waters & get soft drinks instead, but why the hell would I order 7 waters & get one coke & walk through the restaurant holding my one coke out in the open for them all to see, & even if I had, which I didn't, who is pathetic enough to treat someone like that over a single fountain drink when they just paid for it 5 times over in empty cups?!?? How can a customer be blamed because a person taking their order either didn't hear or just forgot to ring something up? Throughout this entire interaction, he is just so hateful seeming & treated me like I had done something wrong. When I was walking out the door, I heard this man go back behind the counter & start talking about me to all of the other employees telling them I HAD, in fact done something wrong! Who does that? How unprofessional. I am certain he saw that ticket for the 7 waters print back on the line where he was, then heard the sound of pop from the fountain & decided to run up to the counter to "Catch" me on my way out. Petty much??!? He is so negative & pissy generally, that he makes me uncomfortable every time I am there while he is. I do not understand how a person like that is able to get a job where they must communicate with other humans. I am 100% aware that if I get a coke, it must be paid for, what I cannot relate to is someone making as big of a deal as he did over it either way. Like I ordered 7 waters & didn't fill a single one of those cups up at all. I'd venture to say that paid for my ONE cup of coke. I have also heard him be ridiculously rude to other customers. I have seen him smile exactly ONE single time ever! His attitude & treatment of people is so bad that for months now, I've been certain he MUST be the owner, otherwise, how does he continue to be employed here, & why else would he be so insane about every little thing? Today I finally decided to find out who the owner is, & it turns out, he is NOT the owner at all. How did this man get & how does he keep this job? It is beyond clear that he loathes himself & just projects all of his self hatred onto other people. I can't imagine having to work with this miserable jerk. Isn't McDonald's pretty insistent that their employees are friendly, happy, helpful, & professional!? I believe they also expect smiling faces. Made a quick stop here on the way to Chicago. Order at the kiosk screen and pickup at the counter when they call out your order number. Except they didn't. They just called out my order. And, the bathrooms were dirty. Maybe it was their off time. But, my milkshake was great! read more

Why is there not a zero star rating? They have the worst management I've ever encountered. The food is just ok for a McDonalds and that should say quite a bit. They rarely clean the dining area. Mostly the management is the problem though. I had the manager tell me that he was too busy to make something right because it was Friday night. There was no one else in line. I was then told I needed to move along for other customers......what other customers? I was the only person in line. The store manager was equally disrespectful and dismissive. I've worked in fast food before so I try to be understanding. However, this was just a joke. There were 2 cars in the drive thru. There is absolutely no reason food should've been sent out looking the way it did. Even if you were busy, this is not okay. It's an embarrassment. Y'all should be embarrassed by you work ethic and lack of care for your job or other people's money. Especially during a freaking pandemic. You would think they'd be more considerate of their customers. I not only lost money coming here but I didn't even eat this food because I didn't feel it was sanitary. Worst drive thru ever waited 5 minutes behind one car to wait another 5 minutes at the menu to have no one even say a word to us. I then spoke up to have the person say you will have to wait? Wait I think I had already been waiting long enough. People were driving away from the line as it was unbelievably slow. I can't understand how you can run a business this way and stay open. This is just sad. Also had to drive away as I had used up all the time I had before having to drop my daughter off and make my way to work to be on time. Would leave zero star if possible! read more

Playland for kids is huge and so fun for small kids from 2 to 10 years old. If your a small adult you can also join in. They have the double drive thru which makes the ordering go faster but you usually have a wait to get to the window to pay and receive your food. Food is always hot and good. Fresh lettuce is a must with me. Staffed with high school kids, which is the norm for fast food. Recently remodeled within the last few years. Clean restrooms. read more

Will not return to eat and i sure would not work there I would NEVER work at the McDonalds in Scottsburg if I was starving. I witnessed this girl working the counter was approached by another girl she said "did you guys know" the little girl at the register said "if it's about the door we know". The customer (who I found out worked there during this encounter) said why what happened. The little girl at the register never raised her voice. This girl (Rebecca) working the drive thru came running over to the counter screaming at her in front of all the customers telling her to shut her mouth and not tell everyone what had happened. She then started screaming for the manager using the F bomb. She was swinging her arms wildly and looked to me to be under the influence of something. I calmly said, " I'm pretty sure the manager would like to know that you're screaming at a co Worker in front of customers. The. Man next to me said i want to speak to a manager. Told the manager what he occurred the manager went to speak to Rebecca. The other girl ran out in tears. They sent the one not screaming home because she was so upset and the other girl is still working. I know for a fact of that was my employees both would have been sent home and Rebecca would not have a job!!!! You don't let your employees be treated that way. I would NEVER work there. read more

One of the best and cleanest McDonald's I've ever been to. And with 5 kids and many road trips under my belt, I'm a bit of an expert. ;) the Play Place is EXCELLENT for kids who can climb. My 2-yr-old is a good climber so he did fine. Probably not appropriate for a child under 3 who is timid of climbing but safe nonetheless. The bathroom at the Play Place has a nice toddler toilet in addition to regular and baby change. Stop here on your road trip!!! read more
