Tip: Collect McDonald's reward points. You can redeem them for food and drinks. This McDonald's restaurant has been a fixture on Kingston Road, near Sheppard Avenue East, for eons. As a kid, when my parents and I would visit Pickering Flea Market (may it rest in peace), we'd pass by this McDonald's to get there. A couple of weekends ago, I was shopping in Pickering. Shopping up a storm required getting a drink afterwards. I had never been to this McDonald's. I decided to get a drink here on my way home. This eatery is on the south side of Kingston Road, just east of Sheppard Avenue East. I had no problem pulling into the parking lot and locating the drive-thru. Before visiting this restaurant, I had loaded the $1 fountain drink deal to my QR code on my McDonald's app. I wasn't able to pay on the app (it's a long story, but I'm able to now), so I loaded this deal and then had to pay for my drink at the window. Not horrible. Just an extra step and interaction with a human. This McDonald's has two drive-thru lanes that ultimately converge by the time you get to the first window. I liked the longer approach to get to the order area, as it accommodates more vehicles when things get busy. I got a friendly male voice at the drive-thru order area. I rattled off my code associated with my reward points. The man saw my fountain drink deal. I got a large Diet Coke. I proceeded to make my way to the pickup window. I paid with a credit card. Tapped. Paid. Done! I got my drink. I was so happy. I thanked the woman at this window and started making tracks home. The downside is doing a left turn to get home from this McDonald's. I ended up heading east and making a left turn at the next set of lights. It was the safer option. My Diet Coke was crisp and cold. It hit the spot after a successful shopping excursion. I normally wouldn't review mcdonalds because there's so many locations (and usually we get the wrong food lol), but I was so thoroughly impressed today at this location, so here I am writing a review. 10/5 service!!! We can around 1:30pm, made our order for happy meal and an extra pack of the latest toy (Feb 2026, anime uno cards). The staff at the drive through order were happy to make sure we got one of each of their available toys. We were told to wait at parking spot #1, and when we were waiting, the car at spot #2 left. A staff, I assume the manager, made a mad dash up over a snow hill to catch the #2 spot customer before they left the lot at the traffic light. He came back with a pack of food in his hand, and then the customer #2 came back to the parking spot. The manager then brought out another bag for them. WOW - that is commitment to everyone enjoying the food they order, and getting what they order. After that, the same manager came out with more orders, including ours. He asked us to check that we had two toys inside, stood there waiting for us to confirm, and wished us a pleasant day as we drove off. I've honestly never had such impressive, dedicated service. I've been calling him the manager (I'm not sure tbh), but if he isn't, McDonalds needs to make him one, now! read more

When it comes to fast food places, I hold them to a higher standard when giving a 4 or 5 star review. This location is definitely better than most. It has many ways to order: there is a kiosk in the indoor playground so you don't have to leave the area or there is always the App which is always available. Table service for the play place is also available, again allowing the kids to continue playing while you get their food. The play place itself has gone through a complete overhaul and it continuously sanitizes the equipment. The three kids I had with me loved the variety of activities. It has both the traditional play structure but also interactive options that both encourage movement but also allow for tabletop play for those unable to use the physical structures. The electronic tabletop tablet crashed during our visit and wasn't fixed (although to be fair, I don't think any of us actually made any significant move to notify staff). Service was quick, full menu available, lots of parking, place was relatively clean, accessible washroom available. Things I wish were better: the seatbelt on the changing table for infants was broken so it made diaper changes difficult and there was nothing I could use to clean the high chair before putting my daughter in it. I had to use my friend's handsanitizer and a napkin. Otherwise, it was a great way to occupy kids before dinner and we will definitely be back. read more

I went in at 10:30 AM with a little line up, but customers were being served right away. I ordered a medium coffee with two cream using the sticker loyalty voucher and a medium ice coffee with skim milk, no ice, no sugar. My coffee order was correct but my ice coffee was served with ice. When I went back to the counter, they were prompt to resolve it but its so chaotic in the back so its really easy to see how this happened. My only negative feedback is when I ordered no ice, there was a 1in gap from the top, so they did not fill the cup up. Cost cutting? I have posted a picture. Horrible drive thru during rush hour. Ppl would skip the line when other vehicles are waiting in one line. Watch out for some driver who will pretend they don't know there is only one line for split drive ways. Need more signs for ppl to see when parking for pick up and drive thru Other than that the staffs are very friendly. read more

Didn't think I'd be reviewing a McDonald's :) Food is all the same along all the properties really but this one is by far staffed with the most polite, kind staff. They are really cheerful and helpful and I never thought I'd say this, but I actually had a great interaction with their cashier and manager. Please speak to your staff about gender neutral language. I was going through your drive thru when one of your staff misgendered a customer and even after being asked to speak to a manager, no apology was even offered let alone compensation or a conciliatory tone. What policies around addressing customers are part of your employee training and what degree of equity training exists at the national level? read more

The more I have McDonald's coffee the more I'm coming to realize it's just way better than Tim Hortons. I had breakfast at a non-breakfast time which was also fantastic. My hasbrown was crispy and golden brown and my sandwich was well prepared. This McDonald's drive thru features the "any lane, any time" feature so you literally can pull up to any speaker and order. It's really efficient and I can get in and out way faster than if I stopped in to the Tim Hortons next door. read more

I have been to this mcdonalds location many times, each time I arrive there is a good vibe in the restaurant, both from customers and employees. They have a good thing going in terms of how they get the food out, in an organized manner visually apparent by your order number. I also enjoy using coupons and the mcdonalds app for great deals. read more

I often stop at this drive thru for my morning breakfast so you can imagine my shock when I observed that some (2 to be exact) of the drive thru team members are choosing to express their mask protest by wearing them beneath their nose and not protecting us from their moist exhalation onto the food and drinks we order and they handle. How very disappointing since this is contrary to the concern and reassurance that McDonalds has expressed to its patrons via the app, commercials and print media during this pandemic. It's true that I can choose where to spend my disposable income but it's also true that I should be able to order breakfast without a side of Covid-19 because employees serving the food do not share the care and concern for their patrons by wearing their masks correctly covering their nose. Please retrain and educate your employees how to wear their masks correctly as we're all in this together. read more

This McDonald's always has a long, slow drive-thru line up... but it's worth the wait! The food is always good, but the staff are what make this location extra special. They do a great job training here, (evidently). I come mainly for coffee and sometimes a Big Mac. The interior is cozy and always clean, (a nice fireplace inside). It's a perfect meet up spot if you're looking for something between Pickering and Scarborough. I've been coming here for years, and I highly recommend this location. Been going here since childhood. Ok maybe I've been a total of 4 times in 28 years. It's clean, it's comfortable, and no different than any other McCdonalds. It's right off the 401 at the Port Union exit west bound. Perfect place to get to if its the fast food you're looking for. read more

Hi, I just went to this McDonald's and ordered a bacon mcdouble. it even says "Add bacon" on the receipt, yet there's zero bacon and only two pickles. Why did I have to pay for bacon if i wasn't even going to get it? I'm back at home now - am I supposed to drive all the way back for what I already paid for?
