Everyone was kind've disoriented except for one guy. Food was slow but good. Mcdonald's was disappointing but wasn't terrible.

Either the oil was getting old or they left it in for too long, but the chicken stripes were only okay at best.

All of those things mixed together and twisted and pulled into a sweet singular strand of small town taffy. We bellied up to the bar later than we had hoped, in mid-afternoon. We met the current manager who explained the history of the spot, and while it's a little spotty, they've been around a long time in one form or another. She was related somehow to the original owner and it's passed through generations of families. There are strange gifts, new gifts, a lunch counter, booths, and a small menu board. We came in post-hike and got burgers because of course you get burgers. I can sum up the vibe of the food and the whole experience thusly: ME: "Wow, this tomato looks like it came from the garden." HER: "Ya, we get them from a guy who grows them for us. He's actually my old history teacher." Local, small, quirky, but very very delicious. Simple. I'm off shakes but by dining partner got one and it filled the cavity well. You have to stop in here when in Roosevelt. It's small town history teacher tomato good.

I found the ambience a little odd-no music and just an eerie feel to it. Maybe that's because I was sitting next to the kitchen and only heard the soft buzzing of a machine. Some old country music could have livened the place up a bit. There was a Christmas tree decorated in patriotic colors with a cowboy hat on top. The food was....ok. Not a ton of flavor. Service was friendly enough, but not overly welcoming. Maybe if you're a regular from the small town, you have a different experience. But just passing through, it was just ok.

If you are a Utah who likes sugar you might honestly enjoy your experience. But we are from out of town, and don't have that Utahn sweet tooth, so we were shocked by how sweet the spiced iced chai latte (2/5 stars) was. I honestly could only taste the sugar, although I could see the texture of the spiced chai. We also got a caramel iced coffee (3/5 stars) which was palatable to us, but twice the price and not as good as the coffee at Mavericks. But the staff were friendly and I think they're doing a good job with their target clientele, so I'll give them 3/5 stars overall. We would recommend this coffee shop if you're looking to sit and relax and enjoy the ambience, or if you have a sweet tooth. If you're in a rush, try the self-serve coffee at Mavericks across the street.

Great place to dine if you want to take your time. Some food variety but limited options for vegetarians/ vegans. Food: --They have a self serve salad bar that's is not too bad. It's mainly kept clean though at later times crumbs here and there. --lunch: got a BLT w/o Mayo. It was ok but would have been better if bread was toasted more & if they had more bread options. --dinner: Salmon steak: I opted for poached and wow I was amazed of how great it tasted!! Would come back for just the salmon. The dressings/sauces were not that good. They forgot to give me a hot roll, but still a very filling dinner plate as it comes with salad bar, potato(or fries), vegetables & dessert. --dessert: Peach Cobbler--got it with a scoop of ice cream. Would have been better or cobbler was warmed up. Didn't have a pie crust rather it was like an oatmeal type of filling with peaches. Wished they used real peaches instead of can peaches.

My first time there the steak was good and cooked to my request (medium rare is the only way). The mashed potato's and brown gravy were warm and tasty. The salad bar was ok. The lettuce is literally just a head cut up in the back, with zero thoughts of this is a salad, not a burger topping. The service was good during my first visit and mediocre during my second visit. Second visit, obviously as mentioned above, they were out of NY strip so I got the ribeye again. This time the ribeye was unevenly cooked across the steak. I had mushrooms and onions added both times. The mashed potato's and gravy were not warm this time and were bland. The salad bar was in complete disarray, and I had to ask that it be refreshed. It was a lazy attempt and not worth my time or stomach space. Overall, this place is decent but inconsistent. Funny thing about the two visits. Same order, two different prices, by about six dollars. Nothing special on the inside with regard to decor or design. Just a hole in the wall local place. Roosevelt locally owned restaurants need to get it together. If you want a consistent steak, go to the Hideout. Oh, my ribeye was completely untrimmed today. Picture showing the amount of cap fat compared to two pieces of garlic toast. Swains and Christophers are off my list of places to eat due to the inconsistency and price for that. I'm not poor, but I don't like wasting $40 a pop to figure these things out either.

But they were not using the same cook and so therefore my over medium eggs one was totally hard. My crispy hash browns were soggy and cold. My bacon thank goodness was crispy. Hot food prepared the way The customer has specified. The service should be rated out of a 10 and not a 3!!! Concerning the atmosphere, it's just a simple country Cafe
