My husband is a local and has gone to Rocky's since his Highschool years (30years ago) And when we moved back to the Basin- it was "the" place he wanted to take me for nostalgia reasons. Visit 1- the food order was wrong, my burger was cold- sent it back and my husband was finished with his meal by the time mine came back out. Visit 2- both our orders were Completely wrong and my hamburger was still Totally pink inside (management gave us a $10 gift card for our troubles.) Visit 3 and final strike out- we went through the drive through JUST for 2 milkshakes, an hour before their closing time. No other cars in line- no customers inside. 3 teenagers working and it took almost 20 mins to get TWO MILKSHAKES. The 3 "worker" kids stood in front of the drive through window staring at phones and playing the grab @ss/flirting game. The milkshakes were ridiculously bad- about 1 total spoonful of cookie dough at the very bottom of a cup of plain vanilla ice cream. We Will Not be wasting anymore money there- and all the nostalgia memories atleast had good food but that's long gone. read more

Cashier was friendly and the food came out relatively fast. The ambiance is similar to that of a fast food place. Food: - Ordered the 2 Piece Chicken Lunch. The price is great for the amount of food ($6.54). However I did not really like the food. The chicken had good flavor but the fried part needed to be improved. Mash potato tasted similar to the box type. I also ordered the banana walnut milkshake kids size and the portion was big. The shake was tasty as they used real walnuts and banana. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was terrible: the cheese was burnt, I asked for light mayo and they decided no mayo. I asked for onions and they literally put 1 tiny circle cut of an onion in the middle of the burger. I asked for it to be remade and it came out burnt and dry. Firstly I had ordered a Double old timer with ketchup and pickles only and they had put everything on it, so I took it in and told them they got my order wrong. Came back out to my car looked inside my burger and it looked like they had rinsed the burger patty with water leaving a little bit of everything's residue behind I thought that was absolutely gross and disgusting how could you get my burger wrong once and have the audacity to keep the same patty, cheese and buns? Ordered two swirl cones and a milkshake. Watched the girls make several shakes without washing hands between taking money, touching themselves and taking orders (and money). They placed the ice cream cones without napkins or cone paper/wrappers onto the counter instead of handing them to me; where I could clearly see it had not been cleaned. I asked that they be remade and watched them discuss me and pass the cone to 3 different girls before they handed it to me. Needless to say I didn't eat it! I also watched the boy in the back scratch his forehead and adjust his face mask then continued making food. The employees need retrained; Or at least an updated food handler course!!! read more

I love the fresh and juicy fried chicken from this place. It's THE BEST in the region plus the price is ridiculously cheaper to compare with the other famous fast food restaurants. Only in this town you will find this amazing fried chicken! The salad is fresh. No wonder the drive thru always busy every time I went there. I've been a few times, mostly for the yummy shakes and ice cream sundaes. They offer a wide variety of mix-in ingredients so you can create your favorite frozen combo. My niece had a burger she said was pretty good. I had a chicken fajita burrito which was more of a shredded chicken/cheese/salsa mixture wrapped in a large flour tortilla and pretty tasty, just like the onion rings we shared. I really want to like the local eateries. I've certainly eaten worse than Rocky's. I don't think I have ever seen the owners at the restaurant. I think if they saw what I saw they would nod their heads in agreement that the uniform shirts are uniformly worn out and stained. The service was fine not perfect but fine. The shakes are definitely the best part about Rocky's with the tater logs next. I got two chicken strips and they definitely looked frozen. I hate to compare but Round Robin's chicken is clearly fresh not factory produced. There is a lot of potential here. The ridiculous children working there ignored us after giving us our drink for 15 minutes before throwing out a half full bag of old fries and slamming the window, no words said. Rocky's (formerly Chicken Time until it burned down) has a reputation in the area for 4 things: Slow service, expensive, extremely young employees and the only place in the area to get a shake. It is that last thing that keeps the place going as the food, while sometimes good, just doesn't warrant the high prices ($5 quarter-pounder, $3 sides, $2 drinks). But the real problem is the staff of young kids that they employ that just aren't up to the task of running an eatery without supervision. This means you can wait 30 minutes for your food (even if you are just ordering ice cream products) and the quality of that food will be so-so. The ice cream is normally average tasting but the mix-ins are sometimes old, stale and sometimes inedible (rancid peanuts, icky tasting cookies and candies). read more

This is a great stop and go type restaurant. It has a lot of offerings at a very reasonable price. The food is good. This is fast food. If you are looking for fancy, this isn't the place. It does take a little while to get your food. Because it all appears to be made to order. I didn't mind the wait as the staff was very nice and engaging. The Shakes are made from scratch, which I really enjoy. I got the Foot long Hot Dog. It was cooked on the grill perfectly and they put mustard and relish on one side of the Hot Dog and Ketchup on the other. I also got the Tater Logs. Those take a bit to cook. In Roosevelt for a seminar and did not have much time. Stopped at Rocks Place for a burger and fries. Disgusting grey burger that was inedible and fries that were way too salty. I despise McDonalds which is next door but I would say McDonald's is gourmet fair in comparison. read more
