Im sure no one can blame me. When you walk into this little restaurant, you are walking up to a counter and ordering your dinner. They have 14 varieties of chips, priced from £2.20 (small chips)up to £4.60 (taco chips with bolognese and cheese). There are four varieties of fish (i got the fresh battered haddock at £3.60) and fries and gravy for £3.40). The fish and chips were delicious. The gravy was bland (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). The serving was extremely generous. This isnt the best fish and chips I ever had, but I would put it easily in the top 3.

I find their peri peri sauces - also mass produced in factories - acrid. I find them unpleasant to eat and to smell - they pinch my nose. The only attraction with fast food, junk food, is that the skinny battery chickens when defrosted are flame singed and grilled with flaccid skin on but that's about it. Cheap crap food and priced at double what it should be. It's not for me. I find the staff friendly but really interaction is limited as customers get their own drinks, get their own sauces so it's all rather unappealing and not at all appetising.

First duty was into a nearby supermarket for a soft white bread pan. When it's fish n chips it has to be tea, bread and lots of butter. A good sprinkling of salt on the fish n chips too. Carbs, animal fats and hardly a healthy calorie in sight. So into the chip shop to a friendly welcome from a man, certainly didn't look like Paula but it's a funny old world so I thought better than to ask. Two fish and chips please (or as we used to say: two fish suppers) £11.60 was required. I checked it was cod and he almost seemed taken aback at my question - he said, 'of course'. I waited a bit pleased that the food was being cooked to order. The portions of cod were huge, with fresh, white chunky and skinless meat. If you aren't sure how fresh cod tastes try it here as it's very fresh. I thought each chip portion was a tad mean but once home and in the plate it was generous enough. The food is cooked in beef dripping. There is no substitute good enough, groundnut, peanut, rapeseed, olive, corn oils none come close. The batter was towards thin and I like that, and to be fair the food sat in a take out bag until I got home and put out the plates and do on. Despite this the food was excellent, perfectly good food and still quite warm. A chip buttie was a must. Now I've eaten some of the finest foods on earth but I gotta tell ya the taste of a white soft pan bread chip buttie with a bit of salt and a generous slap of butter is wonderful made all the better with hot tea. The glowing reviews are right, it's a great place. The next time I want very good fish & chips I know where to go. Maybe next time I'll sit in and have it at its very best. Who knows now that oil prices have fallen the prices here should drop too.

You can also select a spice level ranging from Plainish (Extra Mild) to Extra Hot, and I went for extra hot, just to see how much heat they could bring. But that's not all! At the self-serve counter were even more sauces, including wild herb, lemon & herb, and garlic, along with peri-peri sauces of all different spice levels, so you could experiment with many different flavor combinations. I asked if they took debit card but unfortunately they didn't. The chap working said I could place my order and go to the ATM further up the road and by the time I got back my food would be ready. He wasn't wrong because I came back to the shop just in time to answer the all important question, 'Do you want salt and vinegar?' The food itself was good, although not mind blowing. There's plenty of competition in this area for fish and chips so Georgia's always had a lot to live up to. I got a 'Cod Supper' - I got loads of chips (too many) but the fish portion wasn't huge although it was fried to perfection. The meal was enjoyable and I will definitely be back although I might try something different from their large menu.

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

When you enter Eddies you can see that it is just like stepping into a real American diner and a great touch is that there is a juke box at every table. The food is great also. This is at heart a burger joint and they do it well. I had a smokestake burger and it was delicious. Applewood cheese, onion rings and secret sauce allll gooooood!!! I loved the food so much that I went back for seconds the next day and I can davey say that I will be back again.
