So pulled up into the car park, two degrees outside and 'are we human or are we dancer' coming out of the radio as I turned off the engine. First duty was into a nearby supermarket for a soft white bread pan. When it's fish n chips it has to be tea, bread and lots of butter. A good sprinkling of salt on the fish n chips too. Carbs, animal fats and hardly a healthy calorie in sight. So into the chip shop to a friendly welcome from a man, certainly didn't look like Paula but it's a funny old world so I thought better than to ask. Two fish and chips please (or as we used to say: two fish suppers) £11.60 was required. I checked it was cod and he almost seemed taken aback at my question - he said, 'of course'. I waited a bit pleased that the food was being cooked to order. The portions of cod were huge, with fresh, white chunky and skinless meat. If you aren't sure how fresh cod tastes try it here as it's very fresh. I thought each chip portion was a tad mean but once home and in the plate it was generous enough. The food is cooked in beef dripping. There is no substitute good enough, groundnut, peanut, rapeseed, olive, corn oils none come close. The batter was towards thin and I like that, and to be fair the food sat in a take out bag until I got home and put out the plates and do on. Despite this the food was excellent, perfectly good food and still quite warm. A chip buttie was a must. Now I've eaten some of the finest foods on earth but I gotta tell ya the taste of a white soft pan bread chip buttie with a bit of salt and a generous slap of butter is wonderful made all the better with hot tea. The glowing reviews are right, it's a great place. The next time I want very good fish & chips I know where to go. Maybe next time I'll sit in and have it at its very best. Who knows now that oil prices have fallen the prices here should drop too.

Im sure no one can blame me. When you walk into this little restaurant, you are walking up to a counter and ordering your dinner. They have 14 varieties of chips, priced from £2.20 (small chips)up to £4.60 (taco chips with bolognese and cheese). There are four varieties of fish (i got the fresh battered haddock at £3.60) and fries and gravy for £3.40). The fish and chips were delicious. The gravy was bland (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). The serving was extremely generous. This isnt the best fish and chips I ever had, but I would put it easily in the top 3.

There's plenty of competition in this area for fish and chips so Georgia's always had a lot to live up to. My best Supermac's memory thought is as part of the Des Bishop Work Experience that was on RTE a few years ago. There are kiosks to order if you do not want to wait in line to order with a cashier. I noticed there were a lot of young adults at this location, and that it was busy during both times I went. Service seems fast despite having a lot of customers inside. What I tried: -Terry's Chocolate Orange Pie is delicious. We don't have that in the United States. The pie is hot and crispy on the outside, and has a semi-sweet chocolate filling, similar to a pudding consistency, with an orange flavor. The overall taste of the pie is light, and not strong or too artificial tasting in either chocolate or orange. -Hamburger: The hamburger is very small and flat compared to the US, but tastes similar, just slightly healthier. -Cheese bites: Also a non-US item. These are tiny mozzarella and emmental balls in a smoky caramelized onion flavored breadcrumb coating. I thought the cheese would be gooey but it was somewhat solid (but warm). It's served with BBQ Dip. -Mini Hash Browns: Got this in the 15 piece instead of the 5 piece. I counted as I ate and there were 13 in there (oh well). I prefer the minis to the flat hash browns (we don't have the mini version in the US). The mini hash browns are crispy and perfect to pop in your mouth. -Sausage & Egg McMuffin: It was okay. The muffin top and bottom are very thin and the sandwich flavor isn't as salty compared to the US. -Breakfast Wrap with Brown Sauce: This is like a McMuffin but in a wrap. I prefer this since it's more filling as it comes with bacon and potato rosti (hashbrown) too. Brown sauce is hard to describe for me. It's not like a BBQ sauce, so it's not smokey or tangy, it's more spiced, sweet, tamarind-y, vinegary, like a cross of ketchup and Worchestshire sauce. The music was blasting at 8 a.m. so that's one way to wake yourself up. I went up to the second floor to eat. There's barstool seating along some windows, as well as grouped sit-down seating.
