After reading the reviews about her delicious biscuits and gravy, we had to try them. They did not disappoint! The homemade biscuits were fluffy, and the country gravy was so flavorful. Granny is quite a cook! And the staff is very friendly and attentive as well. Katie was our waitress. Her cheery disposition made us feel right at home. We will definitely go back. Next time, we will order the meatloaf. We heard that Granny has her own secret meatloaf recipe. Can't wait to try it.

My "over medium" eggs weren't, still having raw egg white running in them. I didn't complain, as I can eat most anything, but I later learned that they had only recently opened so I probably should have said something as the cook was probably new, as well. Our waitress, Henrietta, was great! Friendly and welcoming, and she served us quickly. The foot came quick and was served hot. Henrietta had some difficulty checking us out, primarily due to the aforementioned food item that they created (it was not a regular menu item). She needed to ask for help and that woman (manager or owner, I'm guessing) could have been a bit more tactful. It was apparent that she was frustrated by Henrietta not yet understanding the modern computer/register, but she shouldn't have schooled her the way she did in front of customers. "I've showed this to you before", and "You can't let the customer see that you're having trouble", were just two of the things that I remember. It was a bit of poetic justice when, near the end of the transaction, this woman hit the wrong key and had to void the transaction and start the whole thing over. :) Anyway, they're new and trying to get a business going in a very old (historic) building and I hope they make it. I'd give them another shot, for sure, but I hope they keep Henrietta around!

I want to preface this review with I had extremely low expectations for Mexican food in Missouri…read more So keep in mind my standards for tonight's dinner were quite low because, well... it's Missouri. I also don't like leaving terrible reviews especially for local places that I want to support. However, I won't support this place after the garbage they served and the way their staff treated us as customers. The atmosphere itself is why they get 2 stars at all. It's a cool looking place, and makes you think it might be authentic when you walk in the door. My husband ordered a burrito wet with green sauce (as you can see in the pictures it's white sauce) and I ordered the chicken fajitas. As you can see it's onion, tomato & bell peppers with a few over cooked pieces of chicken in there. My husband had to ask for a side of green sauce to put on the burrito because it was only the white on there. I will say the service was ok, until we questioned what sauce was on the burrito. The server suddenly didn't speak English and couldn't understand what she was being asked . She then decided that the sauce was "cheese" and when we said this isn't cheese she decided it was "white sauce". The sauce was cold and had consistency of buttermilk, whatever it was it didn't belong on a burrito at all. It was really frustrating being played for stupid when questioning what gross "sauce" was put on a burrito. Our food came out warm at best, and the wait wasn't very long so I'm not sure how it even had time to get cold. The beans tasted like they had been watered down and the food was very bland. I don't know how anyone could even give this place 4-5 stars unless they have no taste buds or they've never eaten real Mexican food, because this place is terrible.
