Recently came here to grab some food before heading down the road back to the Chicago area. Overall this place was very accommodating. Not too busy of a location either, not even in the drive thru. Staff here was friendly, service was really smooth. Average McDonald's experience too, easy access to the streets and the gas station next door. read more

In the evolution of reviews posted, I somewhat cautiously post this daring 4-star review. When this oddity of a McD's showed up in the unsuspecting little town of Morrison, I was actually mildly amused. I work in Rock Falls and occasionally would stop at the always-busy, always-fast McD's. Being able to stop in Morrison, putting others at risk while eating it in the way to work was a welcome option. I agree with the original reviewers' initial thoughts regarding what this establishment-in-slow-motion was like. I figured I was insane for going back a few times, as I got the same treatment, expecting a different result. The last straw was when I was told to pull up to the "hold-spot of shame" for a mere sausage burrito . You know the spot. It's equivalent to a dog and the cone of shame. It parks you right in front of Rt. 30 so that all who go by look at you as if to say, "Have some dignity, for cryin' out loud!" It left me in such a foul mood, I didn't know if my heartburn later was due to the rage or the breakfast burrito with hot sauce. Fast-food forward to this month.... I'm pleased to say after a hiatus from the heartburn, I can now enjoy my occasional breakfast here stress-free. I know a couple of the girls now and they are always friendly. Gone are the days of shame in the hold spot, even with a couple of cars ahead of me. Most of the time my grub is ready to go when I pull up. Morrison, you've come a long way, baby. Keep it up, and I'll have to give myself more time to stop in due to the long drive-they line. I'm not lovin' it quite yet, but to quote Mr. Peabody from the movie, "I have a high regard for you, too" McD's. Oh... And one final thought, McD's. Stop greeting me with, "Welcome back!" It freaked me out at first as I thought there was a camera on my truck that just ran my plates and "knows who I am!" This McDonald's apparently just opened the dining room after being closed for a remodel. The drive through had been open the entire time. When we arrived, the booths were all dirty and needed to wiped off when the manager delivered most of our meal. I had a Filet O Fish and when I opened the box the sandwich wasn't stacked correctly; the top and bottom bun were shifted sideways from each other and the cheese had melted enough to not let it just be re-stacked. My wife ordered a crispy Chicken at the same time as the rest of our order but it was delayed in being delivered and when we opened the package the bun was nearly burned and the chicken itself was over-done. It was far darker than it should have been. There was only one other table seated at the time. None of the food items were special order; just regular menu items. I'm with the other reviewer here; I don't usually review fast food establishments. I mean, I go in with lowered expectations already, not exactly anticipating 5-star food or service, so what is there really to review? But when a McDonald's can't even live up to this bare minimum, I feel inclined to warn others. Now, don't get me wrong. The food is edible. It tastes like any other McDonald's (which, in this reviewer's mind anyway, is still delicious if not gourmet). But the service here is ridiculous. I kid you not, it took us 40 minutes to complete a round trip of driving .7 miles to the McD's, waiting for the food, and returning the additional .7 miles. Even being extremely gracious to a 1.5 mile drive and allowing 10 minutes there, that's 30 minutes WAITING for FAST food. Not eating it. WAITING. Now, yes, there were 5 meals in that order, but even going up for 3 chocolate chip cookies once, we were told to pull ahead and had to wait an additional 10 minutes. Seriously, this McDonald's CANNOT be called FAST food in the slightest. read more

Finally! I can finally give them a few more stars... The service through the drive-thru has been great lately and then today... today was the day that I wasn't disgusted by the fries! They weren't over-cooked and they weren't soaked in nasty, old oil. Now if they could only keep this going... read more
