I love Switzerland. But I hate the French side of this country. And the way they make McDonald's here is shitty.
This place was really crowded the day I went and it took around 15 minutes to get to the counter. And when I got there, the server was very rude and unhelpful. I mean, yes, I do not know French but I didn't act like some obnoxious American. It's not like I talked in English really loud and slow as if they'd understand better. Luckily, my friend who traveled with me spoke French and helped me with my order but was still rude. I don't know. Maybe it's just the damn French in them.
Anyhow, I got my food and I was starving so I just dove right into the food after finding a seat outside. And man, I was so disappointed. First, I spent about $20 USD (which was the cheapest thing to buy around this area) on a Quarter Pounder with Cheese equivalent meal (medium fries and a medium drink) and they fucking charge for each ketchup packet and no refills on drinks and they won't give you more than 2 napkins and you can't ask for more. Second, the meat on the burger was probably around 3/4 the size of the meat patty here in America. Third, it tasted like cardboard. I was told it's probably the cows in Europe because they aren't as tasty as the ones here in America, but hell, throw some salt or spit because this was completely tasteless. Finally, these damn French Swiss are rude as hell. I went to 2 more McDonald's during my trip to Switzerland (1 on the Italian side, the other on the German side) and the food was still crap but at least the servers were really helpful, smiley and cute. Next time, I'll grow out my mustache, twist it into a curl and learn one French phrase "go to hell" which I'm sure I'd use a lot.
Needless to say, I'll stick to paying more for the local cuisine for food that has taste next time I visit Switzerland. read more
