Lots of people were waiting inside, the drive thru line wasn't moving and people in the dining room were complaining about missing items. I was offered two $15 coupons that can only be used in the app, within the next 30 days. And I have to use at least $15 at one time. I will use these in another town, for sure.

I pulled up, paid, then off to the next window--waited for another 10 minutes JUST to be asked to pull up. 3 other customers were served and pulled away before we got our order (another 10-15 min) This is not "FAST FOOD". Got home and ofcourse the order was wrong. the first combo meal that was supposed to be "large" was small drink/small fry. I ordered 2 chicken nuggets (16 pc) each -received 2 little bags with 7nuggets in one bag and 8 nuggets in the other. Also, the man asked me if I wanted a dipping sauce- I requested sweet & sour but got NO SAUCE. My G-son loves Burger King and told me to call the store but as we ALL KNOW...when you complain ,you end up getting your food screwed with and nobody wants that. Not sure who the hiring manager is or if this is a DEI issue, but I know that Burger King, located on Malone Avenue in Sikeston Missouri is not up to parr.

The man who served me was very polite and informative about the deals and food prices. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and a roll. The roll was delicious--it tasted fresh and had what seemed like a honey butter glaze on top. The spicy chicken sandwich had good flavor, but the bread was a bit soggy from being pre-packaged. I think these sandwiches would be even better if they were made upon request to avoid the bread getting soggy from sitting too long. The seating area was decent for a shared restaurant space, which is located next to another quick food option and connected to a gas station. The area was clean, well-lit, and had plenty of windows, creating a comfortable environment for a quick bite. I didn't notice if drinks were available in this section since I already had one with me. Overall, it's a nice little stop if you're looking for a quick meal, and if you enjoy fried chicken, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Growing up in Illinois, I was always curious about this city that had the same name as the capital of Egypt (a different pronunciation, though), but never had a reason to stop before. So we made it a point to find the most popular restaurant in Cairo, and plan our day so we would stop in for lunch. The city itself ended up not being a place we wanted to stay in very long, but the restaurant itself (Shemwell's Barbeque) had decent food at good prices with warm and genuine service. We were coming down from the St Louis area, so after a detour to Metropolis to see the Superman statue, and a cross into Kentucky to get gas, we drove here, arriving around noon. It's a standalone building with a big empty parking lot surrounding it. We were greeted once we arrived, and once we indicated we wanted to dine-in, were given menus and told to find any place to sit. The waitress indicated that brisket was available this day (even though it wasn't on the menu), so we got 2 BBQ Plates (price wasn't given but I calculated it to be $16.62 per plate). Sweet Baby Ray's was the bbq sauce on the tables. The brisket was decent and a good amount was given. The 4 sides (onion rings, cole slaw, crinkle cut fries, baked beans) were all from food service providers but were prepared well, though I thought the baked beans weren't good (worse for me than what you get from a can). What was nice is our waitress noticed I didn't finish my beans, and offered to sub it out for another side...and refilled my wife's giant Pepsi cup ($2.69) for the ride. She thanked us for coming to Cairo and offered some suggestions for places to stop while heading towards Memphis. She was down-to-earth, and we really appreciated it, making this slight detour worth it.
