It's just that place that you go to where you know the food will good and it'll fill you up. You can order breakfast whenever you like and its open 24 hours- maximum convenience! The service here is quite average- its usually pretty busy here so I can understand the staff are sometimes running around in a frenzy- so don't expect killer service. It's always good coming in a group as you can always amuse yourselves to pass the time. I was here a few nights ago with a friend and even though we had to wait ten minutes for a table (it was packed), our food was in front of us after 10-15 minutes. I ordered the surf and turf- this is my favourite main here because you get everything- steak with special sauce and shrimp, vegetables and fries. Their buffalo wings are also excellent! I really couldn't fault these. Ever. As far as dessert goes, an oreo sundae is a must. That sundae is great and for it's price, you can't get much better anywhere else. If you've got a family with a few children and you're looking for an inexpensive meal, I'd try Denny's. They accommodate for a big groups and if a child dines with a paying adult, they eat for free from the kids menu. You really can't get better value than that!

This same feeling of built up excitement was felt when I found out the renowned Murder Burger was opening down the road from home. Alas, rather than finding this years top toy, it felt like I had been left holding a piece of fruit and half the mince pie which Santa left behind. First off, let me start by saying the service was fine, welcomed by smiling (nervous) staff, who welcomed us and sent us off with a fond farewell. Now, the food. The steak fries were good but the burgers, these "Super Gourmet" burgers weren't all that super. I had the Double beef and wild boar bacon burger, whilst Mrs. D had the scotch fillet steak burger. The steak burger was full of sinew and lacked that quality element...taste! Despite the epic size of my double patty and bacon burger, I've had tastier whoppers. You have to wonder if the management did their homework, opening below a very popular foodcourt, which boasts great food and good value. They have a lot of work to do to pull in local Manukau punters, especially with Ponsonby prices!

They're a mix of fish and chips and Chinese food by the plate load, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The best part about Nocky's and inarguably the most popular, is their chicken nibbles. You just can't go wrong and I know very few people (with bad taste) that don't enjoy these. They are perfectly fried and cooked every time, and you can buy 40 or 100 at a time. Those chicken nibbles are a great feature for any shared lunch and will disappear before you know it. Needless to say they taste awesome! I love the pineapple fritters here, which is what I look for in every takeaway shop, and they do another awesome dish- pineapple and cashew nuts with combination meat (but you can pick just one meat if you prefer), a favourite of mine if I'm on my own. The staff here work pretty fast and even when its busy the wait isn't too long- they definitely know how to feed a crowd. The prices here are reasonable whether you're buying food for one or twenty, and they always give you a good deal if you're buying a lot. I've seen a couple of Warriors players here on weekends too grabbing food (I won't name drop!), so that's got to be some kind of compliment to this place!

Their combination fried rice is legendary and their sweet and sour pork is the best out. On top of all of that, their egg fu yong is absolutely delicious- just enough veges and the egg is cooked to perfection. They also do noodles boxes as part of their wide range of food available. The staff work hard here, I've seen them go through orders like a well-oiled machine while waiting for mine! My orders have always been so consistent and I've never had any complaints about the food. It's a very popular haunt in my family and for good reason. Not much else you can ask for from your local takeaway shop, and this one delivers. Take my advice and keep a copy of their menu at home; so much easier to phone order than wait in the inevitable long line this place has on Friday nights!

Spoke to him about it and he said "at some stage we'll look into sir, we're trying a new management style". Look at the queue developing onto Great South Rd more like it. If you want to make the place look busy, get people seated, it looks busy with people eating, a huge queue just looks incompetent. What an imbecile!!! Ironically my All Black Kiwi Classic Brioche burger looked and tasted like it had been booted around a footy field for 80 minutes. There's some really good Wendy's around... Just about all of their dishes are under $10 so it doesn't break the bank too much, and they're delicious. My favourite dish from Sprout (and I know many that would agree) if their chicken or pork on rice. I could eat that whole thing in ten minutes and I'm a painfully slow eater. They give you a lot of meat, a lot of rice and a lot of salad- my favourite types of portions! It is seriously good so if you're into pork or chicken, give this one a shot- its a goodie. I haven't tried their sushi but I always notice that come the afternoon all of their pre-packed sushi is sold out. This is probably some indication that it's good, so it could be worth the puchase! They also do a terrific spicy beef noodle soup, and while I'm not much of a soup eater I found this to be really filling and their broth is so tasty! If you're looking for something different in the food court, I'd try Sprout. They make some really good food and it never hurts to try something a little out of your comfort zone.

It is like having lunch at your cool aunt's place. Homestyle fabulous! Compared to the other options nearby, this sunny little glass front cafe is a little piece of heaven. The ladies who own it are super friendly, and say hello by name whenever I stop by. They do fabulous catering, and their morning tea is to die for (warm just baked cheese scones.... savory tarts with cumin and kumera... excuse me, I'm drooling...) At lunch time they always have an assortment of interesting and healthy salads -- tons of vegetarian options, and you can mix and match as many as you want in a container. One of my favorite options of late is the spicy eggplant. It's half an eggplant that's been roasted, scooped out, mixed up with spices and whatnot, and put back in the skin. I LOVE eggplant, and this is as good as it gets!!! I always find it hard to resist their beautiful cakes. I tend to buy a slice with the idea of bringing it home to share with my husband for dinner, but sometime around my afternoon tea I end up starting to sample it. I've had the carrot cake, which was delicious, and another lemon cake thingy which was also to die for. Check out their Facebook page where they advertise their salads and other goodies for the day!
