If you are on 285/52 and see the blue signs before the Welcome exit showing food stops, just note this McDonald's in about 2 miles from the exit. It is right in the middle of the little town of Welcome. I state this just in case you are like me and get pissed thinking the food stop is just right off the exit, but once you exit you find out it is more than a mile away. This is a standard McDonalds. Food is up to par for a McDonald's. The service is good. The drive thru is efficient, at least it was when I went through it. read more

Curbside pick up always takes forever. 20 minutes minimum. Sure, you could just go inside or wait in the drive thru line. But it's the principle. If you offer curbside pickup, run it properly. They tell you in the app that your food is on the way, and no one brings it out for 20-30 minutes. read more

I stopped to get a happy meal and a quick bite this evening. There were about 15 cars in line, so I went around to the front and walked in instead. The problem appeared to be the order at the front of the line. When I went inside there was a bit of chaos but I got it worked out in a few minutes. My order showed up in reasonable amount of time and I was helped by a nice young lady named Daisy. The food is what it is, it's a McDonald's which means it's fast food but not the best fast food. This McDonald's is situated in what is essentially the corner of the Food Lion parking lot. So traffic coming in and out of there can get a little hairy at times. Especially during peak times. The drive thru is usually full around those times as well. I'd have to say that this location is on par, as far as quality goes, to other McDonald's. I hit the drive thru sometimes to get coffee before heading to Winston and it's usually good. It's a couple bucks cheaper than Starbucks but not nearly as big of a variety of course. The employees are pretty friendly too. Dining options in Welcome are pretty scarce, as it is so, this is one of a few restaurants in the area. read more

I'm not really sure why there is only one person working at the food window and having to do drinks by themselves when there is a line through the drive-through at rush-hour lunchtime and then why are the people behind me getting food and i was told to pull around. Went there for breakfast this morning. They had a price advertised for one sandwich but when I ordered it was another price. When I asked about it the two ladies at the counter seemed to be stoned and wouldn't even respond but did take my sandwich off the tray. After a long delay I finally spoke to the manager who wanted to argue it wasn't her fault the signage had not been removed and they wouldn't honor the advertised prices. In the end, I did get my money refunded but it wasn't a very pleasant experience. I know they don't pay the help much but they shouldn't be stoned at work. read more

I was just in the drive thru line at the Welcome, NC McDonalds for 10 minutes before I got to the place to order with only 3 cars ahead of me. I wondered what in the world was taking so long. I watched 1 car in front of me leave the line and 2 or 3 cars behind me. As soon as I turned the corner after placing my order, it was apparent that the person taking the money was holding up the line with a lingering conversation. I just wonder if that is why this McDonalds lost as least 5 cars worth of business in15 minutes today including mine! read more

The only reason I'm rating this a 5 star is because I walked in and to be fair it was super busy but the cashier at the time was Ty and he quickly took my order and got it right out to me and even brought it to my table. So the fact he remembered that's what I ordered out of all the people in there and brought it too me was just excellent. They need to train people better, for a guy watching how much i drink, calories wise, they keep giving me the wrong size cup, i ask for a medium and they give me a large when i specifically ask for a medium, they also don't hear that well, i ask for a saysage biscuit and a medium drink and i dont get the sausage biscuit just the drink, with a line behind me and not wanting to be late to work i was extremely disappointed, and another time they got what i ordered completely wrong, asking for a sausage biscuut and i get a southernstyle buscuit, how do you get those confused?? read more
