Nice no-frills location that we stopped by on our way back into NC. We ordered 20 nuggets with 3 dipping sauces (BBQ, Honey mustard, McChili crispy), a small fries, and a medium frozen coke. We timed it perfectly so that the order was ready when we arrived. It was a clean space with ample indoor seating- a couple outdoor tables would have been nice though. Not many places to eat out on Interstate 77 (I-77) as you pass through the Appalachians... Stopped off in Hillsville, VA - and hit Mickey D's. I tried their new spicy chicken sandwich meal - with medium fries and a drink. I did not realize when you order the meal - you get two chicken sandwiches. The sandwiches were tasty, and had a good heat bite to them - but they were not hot temperature-wise! The french fries on the other hand were hot, crispy and perfectly salted! C'mon McDonald's! How hard can it be for you to serve me a hot sandwich!? The place was reasonably clean, as were the Men's Restroom. Free Wifi here as well. read more

Worst McDonald's I've ever been to. Somehow the guy taking my order couldn't figure out how to get any of it right. Took about 10 minutes to get my order in for a crispy chicken meal and a happy meal. Got an iced coffee with maybe a splash of coffee, and the rest all sugar and cream. I normally like McDonald's fries but I can't even eat the fries I got with this meal. Sitting here in the parking lot writing this review I've seen two cars pull up and try to go inside to get their order fixed but you can't go inside. It's actually a bit funny to watch. Anyway. This McDonald was a JOKE. We walk in and there were only a few people sitting and eating. Over by the drinks there was ketchup all over the floor and had a lid stuck to it. It was sitting for so long the ketchup had dried up. The condiments were sparse. There were no napkins. All the trash cans were over flowing. The staff, there were about 13 of them behind the counter, were so busy talking to each-other that they couldn't bother cleaning up the place. The food tasted ok but the burger was in 3 different pieces and I only noticed because half of one of the pieces was hanging off the bun. I don't expect fancy going there, but dang McDonalds, DO BETTER! read more

So I'm not really a McDonald's guy. I go about twice a year, usually when I'm forced to on a road trip. But, I could hardly go climb Stone Mountain (or several days later, make the long drive home) without a big cup of coffee, now, could I? This was my only choice in this part of the country. It's McDonalds. You know what it was like. This one is no better or worse than any other one. But I feel compelled to offer one observation. Wall Street has been beating up Starbucks lately, saying even Howard Schultz can't come back and save them, it's all a different ball game now, and Starbucks are facing greatly increased competition from McDonald's new premium coffee. Best experience at a McDonalds I've ever had. We went in because the drive thru line was long and was greeted by a super friendly and helpful employee. He offered to help us place our order at the 4 touch screens they had and navigated us through it extremely quickly. We were able to pay at the touch screen as well and receive our beverage cups there too. After ordering it only took a minute or two for our number to be called and then we were on the road again. Stopped here traveling South on 77. Quick and easy. Usual McDonald's fare. French fries were hot...Big Mac was cold. The air conditioning was ridiculous. I sat at a table and had to move because cold air was pumping down on my back. Took my tray and moved to another table and again the cold air was pouring down on me. I was freezing. Was glad to finally get out in the 85 degree temperatures so I could thaw. The restaurant was extremely clean and personnel were friendly. If you like McDonald's it has pretty fast service. Haven't eaten here in a while, but they had consistently good food.

The lobby was closed during construction, but their drive thru was open. Very slow service and they got our order wrong. When we were owed money back for an extra drink we were charged for, we were told to pull up and wait. When our refund came, the money was balled up and dropped in my husband's hand. Only positive-they got a special order hamburger correct, and the Coke was cold. Don't bother-look up the reviews for the Wendy's across the street! read more

This is my favorite McDonald's I have ever been to. I live nearby and there is many different types of fast food restaurants to go to. One of my best experiences when I was there was today. What happened was that I went there and ordered a mocha frappe, but I received a caramel frappe. I was disappointed but I did not say anything. Later, I came back for a drink and decided to try to get a mocha frappe. What then happened was that my friend told them to make sure it was mocha, because I really wanted a mocha frappe. What they did then was they gave me a mocha frappe free of charge. In conclusion, I love this McDonalds. read more

I purchased two chicken wraps, 2 cups of coffee. Wraps were delivered to table, cold just out of refrigeration. Took back to counter, was told they do not warm up!!! Took back again and demanded two warm ones. Never have I had wraps not warmed. Never received coffee, had to go ask for them again! The bathrooms were filthy, the floor in the kitchen equally filthy. Usually a very good place to eat, but is slowly going downhill with their service. The employees need to learn how to make the drinks on their menu.
