    Lobster rolls and fries
    Vanessa D.

This was a fun little pit stop. We were traveling along I-81 from Tennessee to Virginia. There is a little area near a Sheetz gas station. The restaurant is a cute little place. It is a very welcoming fast food seafood restaurant. It is clean and decorated nicely. The restaurant was packed! That is a great sign on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered up front, like any fast food joint. They gave us our cups and a table number. We filled our cups with our very favorite Pepsi products, sat down and waited. It didn't take long before a very friendly server came by and dropped off our tray. That was really nice. The food was yummy fast food fare. My little lobster rolls were kind of what I expected for $5.99. They were tiny, but had a nice flavor. I ordered the shrimp to accompany my lunch. It was a decent little lunch. As far as returning, I will absolutely be back, if I find myself in the area.

Food was prepared well. One of the the best tasting captain D's I've been to. Service was so so and the menu pricing was misleading and confusing. Overall, it was still a good purchase and worth stopping by if you're craving for some good fried fish.

The food was amazing. But they give you too much food for a fast food restaraunt. The staff was very friendly. Love it here!

The family and I were on an adventure, heading up to Niagara Falls. I was using my trusty Yelp app to try to find a cool lunch spot. I saw Skeeter's, and knew we had to try it. So we jumped off the interstate, and wound our way down to the quaint downtown of Wytheville. It's a beautiful little town, and also the birthplace of Edith Boling Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson. So we rolled into town and spotted Skeeter's nostalgic brick corner building. Very cool looking, and fitting for the 101 year old business. Alas, we got out of the car and excitedly walked up to the door,,, to find a CLOSED sign. We looked through the window, and could tell that we were missing something special. So we walked down to the street to a pizza place, and had a less than stellar lunch. Actually, it was just bad. So, went went off on our Niagara adventure, and a few days later we were heading home. It was nearing lunchtime, and we saw the sign for Wytheville. My wife said, why don't we try Skeeter's again. I called to make sure they were open, and we hit the streets of Wytheville again. We found a table at Skeeter's and started looking over the menu. They have plenty to offer besides hot dogs, but we had to try these world famous dogs. My wife and son got the regular "red weiner" dogs with fries. I had to go for the big 1/4 pound Black Angus dog. I was happy to find that they were in the process of changing their store over from Pepsi to Coke! As I said up at the top of this review, Skeeter's certainly lived up to the World Famous Hot Dog moniker! My big Black Angus dog was so good, that I had to order a second one! I think I can safely say, that if Skeeter's had been open on our way north, we would have still stopped on the way back, to enjoy it again! We found nothing bad to say about Skeeter's. The atmosphere, the decor, the food, the prices, the staff... all were absolutely wonderful! This is the kind of small town, hidden gem, that I love to find in my travels! We'll be back!

Located inside the Bolling Wilson hotel on the ground floor, in the front left corner of the building as you walk in from the street front. An updated traditional small interior, with lots of seating outside both on the porch and side patio. We were greeted walking in and opted to sit on the front porch since it was a nice afternoon the day of our visit. Service is professional, kind and attentive. Our server was prompt with our drink orders, appetizer and entrees, and checked on us enough without being overly intrusive. We enjoyed a leisurely meal in a beautiful setting. Starting with the Griddled Focaccia eith balsamic reduction drizzle. A great starter, simple, well prepared and delicious. I opted for the Mustard grilled Pork Chop with a Devils backbone Lager. The chop was nicely prepared but a little overcooked (dry) not bad but still overcooked. Good flavor and a nice presentation, however it was dry which made it tough to cut. The flavor and the sauce made it palatable though, just wish it had been tender and not dry. 4 Stars - All in all, still a decent meal with great service in a nice comfortable locale. 01236
