Tater tots on the other hand, really freaking good, very crispy with a great flavour. Recommend getting a milkshake too, not expensive and some great options. However, the cashier informed us, in a very rude tone, that they close at 2:30 p.m., the buffet would not be replenished, and that they would reopen later. She also stated that this applies to both locations. I explained that the hours online say something different. Instead of clarifying the situation, she repeatedly said, "No, it does not say that." I pulled out my phone and showed her the listing, but she kept insisting it didn't say that. If the restaurant closes for a break between lunch and dinner, that is completely understandable. The problem was not the schedule. It was the way the information was communicated. The tone was dismissive and implied that I could not read what was clearly shown online. Customer service matters. A simple explanation, such as "We close the buffet at 2:30 and reopen later for dinner," would have been enough.

I knew it wouldn't be terribly busy Friday at 6pm since high school football has started so I stopped by. Staff is still super friendly and my server (I think her name was Molly) is one who has been there for a while. Super sweet lady and I've always enjoyed when I get to sit in her section. I usually get the steak tips but my iron has been low so I indulged in an 8 oz NY Strip with baked potato and corn on the cob. My steak was a perfect medium with awesome flavor. Much better tasting than the last one I had from there. My baked potato was super soft, easily the best one I've had from anywhere. I was disappointed in my corn though. I have always loved how buttery and seasoned the corn used to be but this time it was a little bland. Overall, the new owners still provide a quality experience and I can't wait to go back.

The collard greens were seasoned just right and were so good that we kept requesting more for the table. My son and I shared the fried seafood platter with catfish, shrimp, and oysters. It also came with a side, and I chose the baked potato. Everything was cooked perfectly. The catfish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, the shrimp were large and flavorful, and the oysters were delicious. There was plenty of food for both of us, making it a great value. The combination of friendly service, delicious food, and affordable prices makes this a place we'll definitely return to next time we're in Crystal Springs.
