This location is currently taking mobile orders and charging customers for food they can't actually pick up. Despite being "open" until 11 pm, they were closed tight by 8:45 pm on Oct 30. We dined in, and had the spicy chicken sandwich and fries for a late lunch. With lemonade as a chaser. It was fast food. The lemonade was pretty good. This McDonalds was not too busy so it was quiet. Most of the tables had not been cleaned. And we were told the restaurant was out of ketchup. (Obviously not a new thing as the table beside us brought their own). But when a customer calls out their bad service, they now have a recorded message on loudspeaker notifying you that they will not tolerate your behavior. First time using the mobile app to order, and it was straightforward and easy! Got a box of chicken nuggets and large fries, which were super salty. The chicken nuggets were crispy on the outside! The drive-thru was busy, so we had to wait around 10 minutes. Should have opted in to pick up the order inside instead. This is my favorite McDonald's haha I'm not kidding. I come here at least once per week and sometimes up to 4 times on my lunch break and my food is always out so quickly and very fresh. The staff I've interacted with are kind and very humorous as well! I always get either: chicken nuggets, fries, an apple pie or a coffee. I don't get anything out of those four things so I can judge their other menu items. The nuggets and fries are always amazing! The coffee is good but I always ask for an extra cup of ice. We have loved McDonald's for years. Yet every time we order thru Uber Eats, our order is sent without the condiments/sides we request (butter, jelly, syrup, hot sauce, etc.) (Before you say anything, the order is fulfilled, bagged, and sealed by the time the driver picks it up. This is not the fault of anyone at Uber Eats.) Once upon a time, when you called McDonald's, someone would apologize, and would suggest that you come pick up the items, or offer something for free...next time. I've been to this location more than once and they always seem to get my order correct, so that's great! This breakfast visit found me ordering inside since I had a special request. The recipient of the sausage egg McMuffin can't do dairy, so I wanted to double check the sandwich before I left to make sure it didn't have cheese on it and it was correct! The young man that took our order was great at repeating back what I ordered. I was missing a spicy mcchicken from a previous mobile order and they had given me no receipt. Tried to go complain next time I was there for another mobile order. I was asked for receipt. I told the manager I didn't get a receipt and she told me to call the number on my current orders receipt but there was no receipt in today's order either. I spent yet another 30 minutes in line to ask about this missing receipt for this order and was told their printer was broken. Why would the manager tell me she would not give me credit for the missing item without a receipt and scoff when I told her I didn't get a receipt the previous time and then not give me a receipt for my order today? In the end I was able to get a receipt from another printer after being in line twice. Once for my food and once to tell them they gave me no receipt AGAIN. read more

I have been a loyal customer to this location for many years. It has always been a great representation to the McDonald's brand. Something has gone horribly wrong with this location. Workers here are rude and inefficient. Orders frequently wrong and not complete. The employee I dealt with at least 4 years (Raoul) is the only shining star this location has. Honestly was super upset one day arriving at 11:50, and being told (as the last car) they couldn't make our order. Asked to speak to management and the only response was that "the GM told us to close early" after questioning them, they replied with "we still have many orders on the screen to complete." That doesn't mean you refuse to take an order before closing, and there were only 3 cars ahead of us.... As a student in healthcare I don't have the time to be driving around an extra 30 minutes to find food. And as a former fast food employee I'm 99% sure it's against corporate policy to close before they are suppose to. I find it sad that they couldn't use two extra minutes of their time in turn wasting about 30-60 minutes of mine. I understand it sucks sometimes working in a busy fast food restaurant especially when people come in late in the shift. And I also understand how busy it must be here in galvy with tourists, but I was really hungry, and pretty upset. I will say that this McDonald's has been the only fast food joint in Galveston that actually consistently gets our order correct, (which does deserve an extra star , and the staff is normally pretty friendly. But when it's done right, it's worth raving about! Today I got Mr. Elmer at the register and he was so wonderfully accommodating and patient with my order. I realize this is not a gourmet coffee shop, but he and his team went out of their way to make a decaf iced coffee for my pregnant self and it turned out pretty good! This place didn't accommodate to customers at all. We asked for some Mac sauce like we do at all locations where they happily provide us with some and they said they couldn't. Also asked for a 2 cheeseburger meal and they couldn't do that. Also asked for a McFlurry with my meal instead of a soda and they said they could not do that. Also our crispy chicken had no sauce just chicken and pickles. On top of this the cashier lady at the drive through window had a terrible attitude and was not nice to us at all. Mcdonalds has went to absolute crap, I got here, waited in line for about 10 min which wasn't too bad but then the food didn't come out for another 30! For a happy meal and a Big Mac?!? I couldn't even get the attention of the employees to refund my money. We finally get the food, the meat on the Big Mac looked like brown Swiss cheese, holes all through the meat, so I didn't eat that and then my sons happy meal didn't come with the yogurt or the happy meal toy and his nuggets were like cardboard. 80% of the McDonalds restaurants need to be shut down.
