I am surprised of the low rating for this McDonalds but for me it definitely was a 5 star restaurant. First while traveling on a several week vacation in our RV there are two important places you look for on your trip Walmart and McDonalds if these two businesses are available you are in luck. Placed a curbside order on my last trip through Fort Stockton. (We make the same trip every 6-9 weeks.) Waited almost 30 minutes. It was over 100° and I couldn't go in with my dog, nor would I leave him alone in the hot car. I called, repeatedly, without an answer. Food finally came out. Cold and incomplete. The kid was beyond rude and didn't listen to anything I said. My granddaughter's happy meal was missing fries and he brought her an extra toy. Really? The cheese wasn't even melted on our burgers. We have travelled this country far and wide . . . Both individually and with two humans under the age of 11. We can say, with no hesitation whatsoever, that this morning at 10:45 am, this McDonalds produced the best buttermilk crispy chicken sandwich ever made by a McDonalds employee. Crispy. Yes, it was delightfully crispy. Juicy. Perfect amount of lettuce, tomatoes and Mayo. Since this sandwich is the most edible thing on the menu, we have consumed them everywhere. The staff lied to my face when I wanted to pick up the shake I had ordered for my girlfriend. Stayed at a nearby hotel and came here before an early appointment because they were the only place open early. Arrived a little before their posted opening time of 5:30am. At 5:30am I went to the front of the store and they were still not open. I waited in my car and watched probably a dozen vehicles come by and attempt to either go inside or go through the drive thru with no luck. Finally, around 5:45am someone casually came over and unlocked the door. Crazy! I understand if a restaurant has trouble opening on time once or twice but this seems to be a reoccurring habit. If you are in a rush don't count on this place to be open on time. The few employees the did have their masks on did not have them over their nose and this includes managers. Ordered at kiosk, but we wanted to pay at the counter to make a change on beverage because coffee wasn't listed as a drink option for the meal we wanted. We stood at the cash registers for a good bit while the manager and employees glanced up but weren't bothered to ask if we needed help. There was a line, but everyone went to the machines when no one came to the registers. Finally, we asked one of the workers for help and after explaining our situation, she just said that none of the cash registers were working and that we needed to re-input our order without offering any help. We stepped to the side trying to figure out what to do next when the guy behind us in line stepped forward, she immediately took his order even though she had just told us none of the cash registers were working. Living in this town this is pretty much the only good fast food. Everytime i drive thru in my truck nobody takes my order, while i watch people pull up in the next lane and order right away. They always seem to mess something up.. from forgetting straws, upcharging you when u ordered the reg size, running out of items, missing food, half empty french fry orders, or stale coffee (taste like an ash tray) but for the most part, the Food is reg mcdonalds quality.. My high score is related to customer service primarily, I and my family arrived after several hours of driving and for lack of a better description, were grumpy customers. I have to say that the service was excellent and that the cashier handled my embarrassingly grumpy attitude well. She provided excellent service. The manager was quick to handle my concerns, both tea dispensers where empty. I will admit the overwhelming amount of children running around and screaming did add to our frustration, but hey it is McDonald's. I'm not sure why, but when we were there they never gave anyone the drinks they ordered unless the customers came up a second time to ask. I had to go back up to the front and wait for five minutes so I could ask them to give us the cups. I saw this happen to five or six people while we were there. Is it really that difficult to understand the concept of people ordering drinks with their food?
