Not over cooked or burnt looking like some fast food places. The quality matched the wait time. The place was clean and they were still cleaning. We came well before closing time. Just an overall good experience.

I was thankful the AC was working really well, as today the temperature outside was over 100°! I was impressed with the facility. It is pleasant, and apparently a local hangout. It's only three short blocks off the main highway (281) and has good parking. The menu is fairly simple: hamburgers, chicken burgers, chicken or steak finger baskets, tacos, and frozen desserts: soft serve ice cream, shakes, etc. See more at their website. The employees were friendly and helpful. The food was as expected or better. The food took a bit longer than other fast food restaurants I've been, but it arrived served to my table nice and hot. The steak fingers are mostly breading, but tastes good, especially with the gravy. The (American style) tacos were generously filled (though I do prefer the seasoning at Taco Bell. By the time I finished my meal I realized I ate too much to get a dessert... :-( Normally I would have ordered a Blizzard, but I was too full. If you like DQ you will love this one!

I'm parked across the street doing my reset, and this is one of my favorite truck stops when I'm…read moregoing to Laredo, so I decided to walk across and have supper last night.. They also have truck parking next to the restaurant that not a lot of people realize. I walked in and was greeted immediately by very nice and professional staff. But of course if you know me, you know I chose to sit at the bar. They were playing some soccer game on the TV. I don't watch sports so doesn't matter to me what's on the TV. My bartender greeted me IMMEDIATELY and took my drink order, and gave me a menu. This guy was on his game! Very attentive, engaged in banter. Couldn't be happier with my bar experience all together. I'm on a no-carb kick, so It can be challenging sometimes to find carb-free options at Mexican restaurants, since all the good stuff and fun stuff to eat like tortillas, rice, beans, and other fried dishes are plentiful. But I noticed they had a Molcajete! (For those don't know what that is, it's essentially a bowl carved out of volcano rock, and then heated up with various meats and other ingredients, served SUPER HOT). My molcajete came with pretty good size shrimp, beef, chicken, couple slices of mozzarella type cheese, pico and other stuff in the bottom. The bartender asked me if I wanted to substitute my rice and beans for avocado and pico, which I did. I ate my avocado and put the pico into my molcajete. I am a faithful consumer of tajin, and tapatio. BUT They didn't have tap! They only have Cholula. The bartender told me he keeps requesting it, but never gets it, so cholulah it was. My molcajete was super hot, boiling like it should be, really flavorful. All together really good. I did notice The Rock wasn't as deep as other Mexican restaurants I've been to that served it, and didn't have a couple other little things in it that other Mexican restaurants too, but it was still good nonetheless and a perfect portion size for me. I didn't realize they close at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday because I planned on having supper there again tonight, so I will be stopping in the next time I come down to this part of Texas! Thank you Taqueria Jalisco! Maybe next time I'll have a cheat day and eat something carby! Wish I can give it 6 stars. SteerBurger Grill & Grub is such a hidden gem!…read more It's a food truck with an indoor dining area with AC, which honestly confused me a little at first, but ended up being a great setup. The folks working there were super friendly, and I really appreciated the hospitality. The dining area was also very clean. Now for the burger and fries: OMG, what a surprise! The burger was seriously so good. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. I visited close to closing time, so I was the only one there, but the place seems like it could be a really fun spot to hang out, especially with the outdoor patio seating. One small idea, if they haven't already considered it: it looks like there might be enough space for another food truck or two. An ice cream truck would be especially fun for families and could make the space even more interesting. (or beer garden for adults... hey you never know haha) Overall, great food, friendly people, and a really cool setup. Definitely a place worth checking out.

We have eaten here before and the Customer Service was as great as it was this day. The quality of Burger and fries not so much! My Burger was medium which was OK but it came in one big piece and one small piece. The French fries were of low quality and not one of the pieces was over 1.5 inches long! As usual we had to go to the bathroom to get paper towels as every time we have been there they appeared to be out. Very Disappointed! We don't mind paying the current market price for a very good burger but today, We would have gotten better burgers and great Fries at Whataburger! "Authentic Southern-Fried Seafood Done Just Right" 08-04-2025…read more A huge shoutout to the cooks at Baffin Bay Seafood! These guys seriously know how to throw down in the kitchen. If you're craving fresh, authentic southern fried seafood, look no further; this is the spot. My husband and I stumbled across Baffin Bay on our way back to Houston from Edinburg, Texas. We were starving, craving some good ol' fried seafood, and after scouring the web, this baby popped up about an hour's drive away from Edinburg. By the time we arrived, our appetites were in high gear, and let me tell you, the wait was worth every mile. From the very first bite, we knew we'd hit the jackpot. Hubby and I were beyond satisfied that we chose this place over all the other options that Yelp had to offer. The rave reviews are well-deserved, and those food photos online? They don't lie. I could practically smell and taste the fried black drum fillets through the screen, and the real thing delivered even more flavor than I imagined. The atmosphere had that warm, small-town vibe where everyone knows everyone, reminded me a little of that series, "Dawson's Creek." We were greeted by the nicest woman (wish I had gotten her name), and right away we felt at home. Now, don't be fooled by the outside of the building, it might not look like much, but we all know the saying, "Looks can be deceiving." Inside, it's cozy but not cramped, with patio seating option that overlooks the bay. The view is calm and peaceful, the perfect backdrop for good food and drinks. Sadly, we didn't have time to sit and linger, but believe me, I was eyeing that bar! They had some of my favorites stocked on the shelf, Tito's Vodka, Apple Crown Royal, and 1800 Silver. Next time, I'm planting myself on a barstool and unwinding with a cocktail or two. Food Ratings: Fried Red Fish- 5/5 - Fried to Crispy-Golden-Brown Perfection! Fried Shrimp - 5/5 - Fried to Crispy-Golden-Brown Perfection! Redfish Po'Boy - 5/5: Fully loaded, fresh veggies, golden-brown toasted hoagie: mouthwatering. Fried Onion Rings - 5/5: Authentic and hand-cut, not the frozen stuff. Fried Okra- 5/5 - Tasted super fresh like they had been picked straight from the garden. Steamed Broccoli- 5/5: Perfectly cooked, tender but still with a crunch. Tartar Sauce- 5/5: Tangy, bold, and packed with flavor (a little strong on the onion, which I loved). Hubby went with the fried redfish Po'Boy and fried okra. He originally wanted black drum, but since they were out, he settled for the red, and he swears it was the BEST Po'Boy he's ever had. We both agreed that they are very generous with their portion sizes. I ordered the Take Two Fried Platter which comes with shrimp and your choice of fish (red, cat, or black drum), accompanied by two sides; I opted our for steamed broccoli and fried onion rings with the red fish. Everything came out hot, fresh, and fried to absolute perfection. Not a single bite disappointed. Bottom line: this place is the real deal. If you're near the Gulf of Mexico and want authentic, down-in-the-Valley, southern fried seafood, make Baffin Bay Seafood your go-to because this is the place to get it! I'm already planning my return visit. Highly, highly recommended; you will not be disappointed! Guaranteed.
