We all know that McDonald's in general has become way more expensive than it once was. Yes, inflation in the general economy plays a big part, but McDonald's his exploited inflation to their own benefit more than almost any other major company. I'll now only buy the occasional value menu item, or maybe a Big Mac if they offer some kind of coupon or promotion. It's silly to pay $8 for a Quarter Pounder. But let's set all that aside and judge McDonald's on another criteria that they used to be known for. Quickness. I probably wouldn't mind some of the higher prices if I could get a quick cheeseburger on my lunch break, but McDonald's can't offer that anymore either. I'm only picking on the East Aurora location because I work near that one. At least the employees are polite at the East Aurora location. I will only nitpick the East Aurora location for their illogical drive-thru layout which allows self-centered customers to cut in the drive-thru lane if they come in from the back rather than the front. The drive-thru lane may have anywhere from zero to 15 cars in it at any given time. Last time there were only three cars in front of me, but it still took 15-20 minutes to get to the menu board, order, pay and pick up my food, which consisted of one McDouble. In the old days, if the drive-thru line was long, I would simply park and go inside. But now, there is nobody inside that is allowed to take your order. You have to go through an annoying touch-screen process that takes longer than it ever did when they took your order at the counter, and it never wants to "accept my form of payment". Everyone in front of you also takes forever to figure the damned thing out compounding the slowness. At least at the drive-thru, you can still simply vocalize your order in a few seconds. P.U. is what I think of the touch-screen kiosk. You can go ahead and blame labor shortages, but it seems to me that there are just as many people working as there would have been 20 years ago, but the new ordering systems that have replaced the old simple "place order with a human, pay, wait for 2 minutes" system are simply broken and are not meant to enhance the customer experience, as much as McDonald's corporatespeak may deny it. Evidently McDonald's has abandoned the old customer experience of at least getting your food in a quick and friendly environment. Key word there is quick. read more

I never write reviews. we don't eat mcdonalds food often. we went to the east aurora location today. we walked in and all 6 kiosks were broken. two people were waiting at the counter and from previous experience, you may wait a lifetime get your order taken. We leave nd decide on the drive-thru. The male who took our order was nice and seemed to know what he was doing. I drove up to the window to pay and asked to add an item. He said it was no problem and even used the promotion to add it for a dollar, even though I wouldn't have cared or fought it. We get up to the window and the girl tries to give us 3 large sodas. Our actual order was 3 sandwiches, a ten piece nugget, and 3 fries. She told me the people in the car before me had claimed our $26 order, which means they paid for the 3 sodas and got a lot of food in exchange. The girl said something is wrong with their monitor as she looked at it confused. She asked for my order again. I figured once I started it, something would register and she would see it on the screen. She apologized and said they would have to make our order again. We waited forever. It was as if they were making everything from scratch instead of rolling the paper covered sandwich through the warmer, which is what you expect to receive. We waited at that window for 15 min. If I hadn't already paid, I would have left. There were five cars lined up behind me by that point. The girl came to the window and apologized twice. I happened to see her by the slushie machine, after I watched her walk around with her fingers in her mouth, as if she was biting her nails. The blue slushie get filled, I assume for someone else, and I watch her take her fingers and wipe the side of the cup to get the excess blue off it, then lick it, then do it again. WHAT???? She finally gives us the three sandwiches , nuggets, and apologized again. then she says as an apology gift. She wants to give us the blue slushie and said it's on her. Thoughtful, but no thanks. Not interested in the cup with your saliva on it. On top of everything else, the two double cheeseburgers with extra pickles look almost completely flat and half the size. the BEST part is coming home, sitting down to watch the game, biting the burger and pulling a hair out of it. The staff member who handed the food to us was so kind and friendly, even apologized for the backup when it wasn't even her fault. I wish I had her name bc she deserved to be recognized!! We went in for a quick lunch on Mother's Day and the entire restaurant was disgusting. Food all over the floor. The tables every single one was disgusting. The floor was sticky. We waited over 20 mins for food. When asked for spray to clean the tables we were ignored and then we needed to ask again and someone came and did it. She was wearing disgusting sweatpants and sweatpants and crocs with no socks. We also had to tell her we asked specifically to clean our table. Behind the counter was absolutely disgusting as well. Stopped in yesterday to give this place a try and by far it was the worst McDonalds I have ever been too. First I tried to order using the app. Would not take my payment. So I went inside and ordered a quarter pound cheeseburger and a Ice tea with lemon. Several other customers came in and said there app wasn't working either. Ok part two waited for about 10 mins as other customers got served. They came in after me. My order number never appeared on the board. So I asked the clerk and they replied Ooh that thing is broken and btw we don't have any lemons. Ok I am ok with that. Another five minutes goes by and they come back and say we don't have any ice tea. I say ok can I get a refund. They go and get the manager and he says to we can have you an ice tea in 2 more minutes. I say fine. The story develops further after a few mins he comes thru and was nice but still no lemons. I go to the car take a bite of my cheeseburger and it's super salty. Well they will never see me again. I will eat in a gas station before using this place. Can they get it that you sell coffee you have cream and sugar. You sell French fries you have ketchup. You sell ice tea buy some lemons or lemon packets. I really believe they shut off the app thing there when they get busy because they charge you more and you can't use the deals. Also they never give you a receipt so you can't complete the satisfaction survey. Even if you ask they say sorry we're out of paper or whatever. One star is way too high for this place. Stopped at McDonald's in East Aurora ordered a chicken sandwich with no mayonnaise and 3 ketchups a double cheeseburger and a medium coffee .... the order was perfect no mayonnaise , extra ketchups and the coffee black with 3 cream , was very hot , Going thru drive thru everybody was very pleasant and the service was very efficient .. Whoever is manager of this place has a group of workers taking pride in their job ... The Suburbs is VERY DIFFERENT from the city , every McDonald's or Burger King in the city , the workers don't want to be there , no mayonnaise , had mayonnaise, want 3 ketchups get 1 or none ... Being a trucker for 30'years want a hot cup of coffee , without exaggeration most of the time the coffee is cold , even without putting any cream in , these unhappy workers are serving stale coffee that shut off 2 hours ago .... Since when does a large order of French Fries command a price tag of $3.09 (before tax)?!? Seriously. 5lbs of potatoes goes for as little as $2.50 at the grocery store. At Teds you can get a split for like $3.50 and get both fries and onion rings. Don't get it. Nor do I understand why two McDoubles (usually on the value menu) run almost $5 before tax. This McDonalds is simply over priced. And if you're going to charge almost half of the hourly minimum wage for a large order of fries, they need to be piping hot, super fresh and crispy. They recently got self ordering kiosks. They think that this is immediately the way to order and no longer serve from the registers unless the kiosks are taken. This serves as a problem since my friend and I have to navigate the labyrinth that is the kiosk menu and wound up spending 20 more minutes than we should have trying to get our order correct when the people behind the counter could have rung us up in a speedy 1 minute. I'm assuming the managers are pushing to try and make the cashiers lose their jobs since all they will do for the registers is money transactions. read more

I come here weekly on average for breakfast and go through the drive thru. Consistent friendly staff and not unusual to see the owner working the drive thru. I find McDonalds in general not to be as quick as Tim Hortons as far as getting cars through but this McDonald's does it well and is very quick.
