The staff scoop up the chips, fry the fish, top the pizzas, answer the phone, drizzle the "Edinburgh sauce" and take orders, all at the same time might I add. Although queues on Friday and Saturday nights can be horrendous (out the door and down the street towards Umberto's and Bellfine) they move very quickly and you will be served and out of the shop before you know it. It is owned by the same people as the Central on West Port but it is much better! The staff are faster and the food is of a better quality. I would only pick Central over Adriano's if I wanted a proper sit-in meal as this place has no seats. But the harbour is just a 5 minute walk away, so you can eat with a sea view! They also sell Equi's ice cream for those with a sweet tooth!

A particular favourite of mine is the Chicken Bhuna Kathi Gosht which has a distinctive and delicious flavour. The menu is quite extensive and includes a number of good chef's specials as well as most of the curry house standards: Madras, Korma, Dansak, Balti etc. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is ready quite quickly. They can deliver if required though I usually collect. The only negatives I can think of are that some of the curries are a little oily for my taste and that the prices are a bit higher than I would expect. However, the Indian restaurant at the other end of the high street has a similar menu and prices, but Nice & Spicy provides much better quality and value for money. Just what Dunbar needed for quite a while. Recommended!

It takes 5 minutes tops to drive along the road from the shop, 10 in maybe the apocalypses but after calling up and being told it would be along shortly to then call up -20- minutes later for them to say it will be along in a few minutes kinda tells the story they never started cooking the food till at least 40 minutes before we got it which would have been 10 minutes after they said it would be with us. This is the point where the person hung up on us, yes the shop hung up on the customer for asking where our food was, no even offering us a discount. There is no excuse for this lateness if the place is busy then why not give a more realistic time rather than purely lying to customers. Would not recommend Nice & spicy to anyone that likes having their food on time. This is not a one time thing either EVERY time without fail they have been late, now understandably you would expect the opening night to be slow, okay fair game, but every single time.... really just really. Personally I have waited in the shop 40 minutes after they said it would be ready to which I got some free poppadoms.. oh good that was totally worth the wait.... If you want to waste time and like waiting on your food then sure give them a call, otherwise I'd HIGHLY suggest driving to Edinburgh and getting an Indian takeaway from there as you will get it and come back faster than ordering local.

The Owner and Head Chef, Murat, has been cooking Turkish food for over 25 years and that experience really comes through in the flavour of the dishes. So far I've tried the large Lamb Shish and Kofte mixed Kebab, which was both substantial and delicious. Tender meat, lightly spiced in the case of the Kofte with crisp salad, sauces and fresh pitta. I've also had the Lamb Sauté. This is a saucy, tomato based dish with slow cooked diced Lamb and served with a seeded bread that is like a cross between Naan and Ciabatta. My apologies for not knowing the name of it prior to the review. Again this was lovely but, if you are ordering this, please remember it is a sauce based dish so not a kebab. With that expectation, you should enjoy it very much. Having only discovered this place relatively recently, I've been three times already !!! Special entertainment is offered in the early hours of any Friday or Saturday morning where, drunk rampant teenage couples paw and slobber over each other after night club closing, because there are no rooms available in the local Travelodge across the car park.

Service is quite fast as well, you don't need to wait long for your food which is always at least warm. The fries are the best, they're salty but not too salty. The burgers are always okay, but seemingly a bit squished, but that doesn't knock me off. They offer drinks just like coke but also coffees, smoothies or whatever and drinks for your kids. It's always quite busy whenever I go. The atmosphere and surroundings while you are inside is a bit loud and filled with people. If you don't want to deal with that, there are seats which are offered outside. Overall, I like mcdonalds. Although, one time i puked all my food up because of a fly going into my mouth (I ate it) unexpectedly. Not a nice experience that day, but the other days are overall fine!
