They've got a fryer, flat top, and grill--old-school diner essentials. I had a burger and fries, and it was exactly what you'd hope for. The flame-broiled burger was juicy, full of that perfect beef flavor, nestled on a soft bun. The classic crinkle-cut fries were just right. But beyond the food, the atmosphere was something special. The staff was friendly, and the patrons were straight out of a small-town diner scene. There were two elderly couples sharing a meal, one distinguished white-haired gentleman with a cane and his wife with a classic beehive hairstyle, and a pair of hardworking blue-collar "bubbas" who looked like they'd just stepped out of the auto shop for lunch. The jukebox was playing classic '50s tunes, adding to the nostalgic vibe. If you want a genuine, heartwarming diner experience, I highly recommend stopping in. A Southern Gem Worth the Stop Every Time!…read more I first discovered Central Café about three years ago during the Ground Steak Festival in Dobson. I had never even heard of a ground steak sandwich before, but they had a booth at the festival, and I decided to give it a try. Let me just say--it was absolutely delicious! That fresh sliced tomato on top really took it to the next level. Since then, I make it a point to stop in whenever I'm back in town (I live out of state), and I've probably visited five times over the last few years. Each time, I've been met with warm, friendly service and that classic southern hospitality. The food is always fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. Beyond the ground steak sandwich, I've also tried their hot dogs and onion rings--both excellent. It's a great southern-style restaurant that keeps me coming back whenever I'm in the area.
