I was here at 6:45 and that gave me time to hook up a power cord to one of the light poles along the street and charge my on board battery. When they opened, I was the first customer in, so I set up my laptop and got comfortable as they dealt with the regulars for a bit getting their coffee. I don't usually check menus, but I was surprised to see a "Keto Au Lait" this morning and that's what I ordered. Heavy cream and coffee? That's perfect for my eating regime. I was here for four more hours, pounding away at my laptop and enjoying the ebb and flow of this fabulous #LocalCoffee joint. It's a real gem and I wish them much success. However this past month has been quite the opposite. For starters, I come in and I am not greeted, as everyone looks busy and no one to watch the front register. I am a patient customer and understand this can happen sometimes. After at least 5 minutes of waiting, I am greeted by a man, seemingly middle aged. I am in no way one to judge someone on appearance, however I am under the impression employees are expected to be presentable in the work place. I am met with an extreme odor of sweat. The first time this happened I thought maybe it was a one time and due to the hot weather outside. I was proved wrong. Every time I have came in the past 2 months and this man has taken my order it is difficult to find the words to order due to the oder radiating off of this man. Not only this, but my order is never rang in correctly and I always have to go back and explain my order to him in extensive depth for him to understand. I have always ordered my coffee the exact same and is never and issue any other time. This location is not holding all of their employees to correct standards and should be addressed.

I was instantly greeted by two young ladies behind the counter, and without any delay, I was smacked in the face with kindness, which was needed after being sleepy from enjoying a deep fried dead fish just minutes before. I got a small cup of the West Virginia pothole, and I must say, that had a real good thump of flavor to it. It hit me harder than any pothole on MacCorkle Avenue had ever done. I thought about purchasing one of their tie-dye tees, but I already outgrew all the sizes they had available after all the fat I consumed earlier. He said he had to wait while the lady walked down to the grocery store for lettuce for our salads. The spaghetti sauce was very bland. Even adding hot sauce and grated parm didn't help. Also, like another reviewer wrote, the portions were small, and had very little sauce. The salads consisted of about 6 or seven bites each. The bread was over-buttered and was placed directly on top of the spaghetti, which by the time he got home, it was soggy. Stopped in to try the Monte Cristo locals had been raving about with my husband. We arrived around…read more6pm, but service was still quick and friendly. We started with some broccoli bites that came out quickly and tasted pretty good. Nice and crispy without being overdone. My husband ordered the daily special of chicken and dumplings as they where out of meatloaf. No biggie. Our mains came out quickly as well, and most everything was really good. The dumplings where of the large biscuit variety but with good taste and texture. The mashed potatoes where the slightest bit peppery, and the corn sweet. My Monte Cristo was perfectly fried and crispy on the outside and gooey goodness on the inside with the a hint of sweetness in the batter. It came with strawberry jam, but was so good it didn't need it. The fries where standard and surprisingly just the tiniest bit undercooked to my preference, which was odd because the other fried foods where crispy perfection. They also use something like Lawry's seasoning salt on them, and I just wasn't a big fan personally. Overall we enjoyed our meal and will be back to try other menu items. One thing I will slightly complain about is the to-go boxes. Petty, I know. They are super flimsy, so beware if ordering to-go.
