I know writing a review for the McDonald's off 81 in Cortland is absurd, but it has become a special fixture in my life now and it absolutely deserves this five star rating. The drive thru lines? FAST. The staff? Super nice. The egg mcmuffins? FLAWLESS. The little patch of grass where my dog likes to pee during our commute from Philly back to Rochester? CONVENIENT. We've made the round trip trek a handful of times now and they have come through at all different times of day. The staff here really is so courteous and I am sure they see a wide range of folks coming through their doors given that this is a college town. Went through the drive through trying to use my code to earn points and the lady on the other side was very rude and dismissive when I was trying to get it to work. She was very rude when telling me that wasn't working on her end. Overall not impressed. She definitely showed she did not wanna be there. Only got one snack wrap and ordered two. read more

Recently stopped as part of a bus tour on our way to Atlantic City. Typical McDonald's menu but have to give them credit for extra clean bathrooms, and our group of 40 plus people were greeted with kindness, quick turnaround and accurate orders so we could be on our way. They probably wanted us out of there, lol, but none the less, they treated our bus group very well. Will definitely stop again if on 81 Southbound, thanks for being kind and gracious to us :) read more

McDonald's - Outside and seating area. - Burgers Near Me - Cortland, New York

The food was great, but the service was not. First we ordered a cheeseburger happy meal with only pickles and cheese, on the screen it said only mustard, cheese and diced onions. We told the worker about it and tried to change it and she tried to add another burger then she said it wouldn't have mustard. When we got the burger it had mustard and onions on it. We ordered the Angel Reese meal and they gave us something else. We also got a double cheese burger with big Mac sauce on it but when we opened it looked like they dipped the whole burger into a cup of sauce, the whole burger was covered in sauce. I rate this one star because it's labeled as fast food no no it's not it took exactly 2 minutes and 48 seconds now in my book I don't think that's very fast maybe faster then my grandma but not fast food fast I had ice cream and it could have melted what would I do then probably sue someone and that's someone would be McDonald's because it was slow food not fast food. read more

First of all, everytime I come to this mcdonalds, they ALWAYS give me multiple free sauces. Today, my friends and I go and on the kiosk where you order, it says it's $0. This is no surprise, since it's always free. I ordered a chicken sandwhich and fries. The nasty woman that worked there told me she can't give me any sauce unless I get nuggets ????? I've never heard of such ignorance in my life. I am sick to my stomach and quite frankly, sauceless. She then tells me I have to pay 30¢ for a sauce. I wouldnt mind paying the money, however there should be signs saying that sauce is money now and it shouldn't say it's free on the kiosk. She had a terrible attitude and questioned the amount of sauces I wanted. I think action needs to be taken, and all locations need to be updated with signs. Thank you. read more

Zoey is an amazing worker. Not only is she so sweet and personable, she is so respectful. I was waiting for my order for s couple mins (didn't mind waiting at all) and she threw in a pie for me and my friend. that's the kind of costumer service people want. the smile on her face made the experience 10x better. she is an amazing, kind, sweet, personable worker! def coming back bc of her!! read more

It's McDonald's! Ah, the golden arches. We frequently travel down to New Jersey to visit my fiance's family so we end up stopping at this location for a restroom/snack break fairly often. Standard McDonald's fare and the washrooms are normally pretty clean - great! Shout out to the random piano and musical decor throughout this location, adds a bit of entertainment to my french fry munching. read more

A Tip to Management: I was craving a simple order of a quarter pounder and fries. I drove in, noticing that this place now has two lanes for placing orders. Great! The problem was, the lane I pulled into was apparently not open. While I know restaurants are having challenges in hiring needed employees (thanks to the gov), all this spot needed to do was place a cone or two to block entrance in that lane. i ended up driving off, as there was a spot for me to exit, as I had no way to get to the other lane from where I was. I did not get anything -- McD's lost an order today. read more

I stopped here today on my way to NYC and I really wish I didn't. Dyed blonde in her 20s on the register was very rude both to customers and employees. Customers are unable to use restroom because a lot of people stop by to use Macdonald's bathroom and it is big enough only for two people. Though it is hard to blame them. I would not stop to eat here again. In the bright side their interior made me smile. read more

Clean, quick service. Was in and out. Not sure where the poor reviews came from. Food tasted good too.

I got a 6 piece nugget and a large fry... they gave me 4 1/2 nuggets and barely filled the fries. they also only gave me 1 sweet and sour sauce. Too bad this is the only place open this late. The girl at the window also rolled my eyes at me When i gave her my card. 0/10 read more

I always stop at McDonalds when I am making a road trip from NYC to WNY. It's an easy stop off of the highway and the bathrooms are ALWAYS clean. That's a rarity in most McDonalds. However, the clean restroom is the only good thing about this place. The workers here are on the rude side and instead of saying next in line, they give you the awkward stare down. Do I approach the bench? Do I stay back and wait to be called on? Are we legitimately having a staring contest, because if we are, I'm all in, but let me know. The line organization is poor because there is one line to pick up food and one line to place your order but no ropes or indications of which line is which. You may find yourself standing in the wrong line for a while but there's a fat chance any one who works here is going to correct you or let you know when it's your turn. They have a decent amount of seating here which is good. I have never had the food here, not a big fan of McDonalds cuisine but I do know they do not carry skim milk, which is annoying. Their coffee is surprisingly always fresh though. When the service sucks, it puts a damper on the whole experience, as much of an experience McDonalds could be for ya. 2 stars! read more

This place is AWFUL. They're supposed to be a "24 hour" restaurant but yet my cousin and I had to sit in the drive thru for 15 minutes asking if anyone was at the window and a drive around the whole place to see that NOBODY was in the building. And then someone speaks through the drive thru system just to tell us that they're "closed". If a restaurant is not 24 hours, maybe they shouldn't be advertising as if it were. If I could give anything less than 1 star, I would. read more
