The line was close to the entrance and the design isn't the best. 2 lanes but its very awkward. Each intercom has a different employee taking orders and 1 moved quickly while the other took her time. The guy before me had to say "hello" a few times before she came on. After a while, the line started moving a bit faster. While waiting, I can tell they were about to give my order to the person in-front of me as she almost grabbed it until she realized it was a hotcakes bag. This one of 3 McDonald I frequent because of time and pick eating kids. This location used to be one of my favorite but over the last couple of months the service and food has become subpar. I usually order in the App. I live less than 5 minutes away. The fries are always lukewarm when I get home and the they never fill the boxes. So when I order a medium fries it usually is a small fry and so on so forth. The soda fountain is usually sticky . The employees never apologized or said a word just handed me the item and walked away. I complained to the Corporate Office and received an email from Angie Delancy, I guess she was the Manager, saying she was sorry and for me to send her my address and she would send a coupon for a free sandwich. Prologue: I will write this review in many parts, as to show my story at this heavenly McDonalds as clearly and as consisely as I can. I like to think of myself as a "McDonald's Connesieur" around the region of Saint Louis and this is my experience at the McDonalds on Olive-Clarkson Road in Creve Coeur Part 1: Drive-Through I've been through this McDonald's Drive Through many times before, and I have to say that it is single handedly the best drive through in the entirety of Saint Louis. I usually have two grading systems for Mcdonalds: a very light grading system for large city McDonalds, which usually do not have the best service, and a more strict grading system for rural McDonalds, which usually have much better service. However, this McDonalds completely blew past my expectations for its drive through. Unlike most other big city McDonalds, they rarely give you napkins, condiments, or even a straw. This however, was not at all the case at this fine establishment. You see, the kind worker was so nice, that he was able to provide a straw, a napkin, AND ketchup for fries, without even asking. This was EXTREMELY shocking, as at all the McDonalds I have been at in Saint Louis, not a single McDonalds was able to provide napkins or ketchup. This is just one of the reasons why this McDonalds is one of the best in the area. Another reason, that shows why this McDonalds is one of the best, is the time it took for an order to be completed. For example, if you took the average waiting time at the McDonalds in Maplewood or Kirkwood, it would've been around 30 minutes mininum. However, this McDonald's location was able to blow my mind once again, with its lightning speed of less than 5 MINUTES. That equivulates to around 300 SECONDS. And guess what? The food was WARM, and fresh out of whatever they cook it in. My usual meal is a Big Mac meal, with medium fries, and a medium lemonade, and they were able to prepare it in less than 5 MINUTES. Keep in mind, that similar McDonalds, such as the ones in Maplewood, take more than six times the time to make the same meal. This really came as a shocker when I pulled up and didn't have to wait 25 minutes like the other ones. This concludes the "Drive Through" part of my Review Part 2: Dine-In The Dine-In part of the Mcdonalds was almost just as good as the Drive-Through experience, if not better. I ordered on the machine, which had absolutely no problems. However, one super rare thing occured that is more rare than a blue moon: a receipt actually printed, after I was done ordering, so I didn't have to memorize my order number that briefly shows up on screen. After, I found a seat, it was NOT DIRTY! And not just that, over the entire course of my stay at this resteraunt, I only counted ONE gnat that was flying around my food. Over my stays at countless McDonald's over the Saint Louis Area, the average amount of flies and gnats was around 6, and most were very agressive. The gnat was quite passive, and did not at all try to even go near my food. This just adds to the reasons why this McDonald's is one of the greatest of all time. Next, time to talk about the time. It took me around 5 minutes, to get my order, so pretty fast in terms of McDonald's waiting time. But, one thing that sets my experience apart from my experience at other McDonald's is that instead of just calling the table number/order number that you had for you to pick up your food from the front, they actually call you BY NAME. This makes you feel more human, and more at home. Speaking of at home, they had tons of cool festive decorations, that added to the cozy theme. There were, for example, Monopoly styled decorations, since the Monopoly game was around at the time, and there were also pumpkin decorations, that added to the October mood. This made the entire place feel more vibrant, than your average cold dirty McDonald's you would find in Maplewood. These reasons make this McDonald's the best in the greater Saint Louis Area. Not sure if you're familiar with the TikTok app but I am kind of obsessed with it. There are some popular videos with people saying that there is a secret menu birthday cake at McDonald's. Turns out they are correct. I called the 13559 Olive St Rd McDonald's on a Tuesday and spoke with Nicki. She was extremely nice and said they could have the birthday cake there by Friday. When I went to pick it up on Friday they wouldn't charge me for it. I just wanted to give Nicki and shout out on her excellent customer service and I made a little donation to Ronald McDonald House in honor of Nicki. I have a family with 4 kids when they want McDonald's we go to this location and honestly we should have learned by now not to go here anymore, every single time we order for here and seriously EVERY time we go here they mess up the order but mostly they mess up the McDouble value meal. it comes with a Mc double Mc nuggets a drink and fries. no matter what I say "can I get the Mc double value meal with no cheese only the beef patty's" they put cheese on it "please remember the McNuggets" which I shouldn't have to say if it comes with the meal... actually they even gave us the sauce we asked for with the nuggets and no nuggets just sauce. they will ALWAYS forget the McNuggets or put cheese on the burgers no matter what. if this happens once or even twice it's not a big problem but this has happened 4 times in a row. This location always seems to get my order wrong. I ordered delivery and they shorted me a McChicken sandwich. When I tried to call and clear it up, all I got was a busy signal for hours on end. On the night of 11/26 around 8pm I placed an order through drive thru, once I got to the 2nd window I noticed the manager prepping the food had dirty bandaids on with gloves that had been ripped with holes, once I paid with a one-hundred dollar bill. the team member Nate handed this manager then bill to check. Once I received my change I requested that the manager replace his gloves before preparing my food, Nate's exact words were "well I'm about to touch your food and you didn't ask me to wear gloves and I've been touching money all day" I told him that I was unaware he was the one prepping too since I only seen the manager prepping. Nate instantly got hostile and slammed the drive thru door and then his headset and my happy meal. once he returned, he sat there in silence as if we were having a starring contest, then proceeded to say "do you want the food or not" I remained calm and asked why was he so hostile about me asking his manager to change gloves, he could not answer. I then asked to speak to the manager thinking there would be a resolved issue. however, THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. once the manager came over there I explained to him what was going on and what my concern about the gloves, the manager got VERY HOSTILE AND ASKED DID I WANT MY MONEY BACK. he then went on to say that they wash their hands every 5 minutes, I told him that I had been sitting here for 15 minutes and he's had on the same glove and has not washed his hands not once. he told me " I don't care what you seen it doesn't matter" he then asked for my receipt and change, I held out my hand out he snatched the receipt and my money flew everywhere outside the drive thru. I said "wow you dropped my money" he then said "no you dropped your own money" I then proceeded to pull my phone out and record the entire incident, he told me that this was a private property and if I proceeded to record the would call the police. I proceeded to record the entire incident until I got my money back, he then came outside got my plate number and called the police. once he finally gave me my money back he slammed all the bills and receipt into my hand and said never come back, which after this I never plan to do so anyway. this has by far been the worst treatment ever, management has no care or regards for costumers who spend their money there. We come to this location a lot since it is the closest to us. Today we went through the drive thru twice since we had multiple orders. The first time we came through our Powerade was out of syrup so we let the employee know and then was handed back another slightly less watered down Powerade without any words spoken. We were then handed our food which we realized was wrong as we were driving off. We came back through for our other order and as we got to the window, before we could even get a word out the same employee berates us for not letting them know they handed us the wrong bag. I feel like an dingbatt for writing a review for McDonald's but the workers here are ruder than anything I've ever experienced in my life. I don't go often but it's near by and often only thing open when I'm coming home. I've had multiple bad interactions but mostly wrote it off as underpaid workers at end of long day. Little bit ago I came to drive thru, ordered and was told to go to first window to pay. Cool, do so. I sit there in car for about 3 min, which is a long time but I figured they might be understaffed given late hour. Suddenly I see a man hurriedly waiving me to next window. When I roll up I say "sorry, you did say first window right?" (It's possible I misheard but I really don't think I did) Zero response, just stared at me and clicked his tongue and put his hand out for my card. Doesn't say a word and hands me my order. As I'm driving off I hear him call me name that rhymes with "flumb witch".
