Need to take a minute to appreciate this McDonald's on our road trip this morning. The drive-through took maybe three minutes to get through and the representative gathering payment credit was super excited to see us, yay! Sausage McMuffins with egg are our absolute go-to when traveling on the road in the morning. Sometimes we get them and they're not hot but the ones we were served today earned this review. The steam coming off the bun could describe the perfect hot temperature. The sausage was juicy, the egg was fluffy, and the cheese amazingly melted over it all. We also got two black coffees that we are still scared to sip because they were also served super hot- but the way we like them! Such a nice treat when you're on-the-go! read more

Yeah it's no IN-OUT-BURGER but for Christ sake it's a McDonald's in Channahon and it's friggin open 24 seven when you have those late night munchies at 2AM. Eh, it's a regular McDonald's. Albeit a CLEAN McDonald's, but still, like any other fast-food joint you get a handful of teenagers working there that care only about making enough of a paycheck to cover the insurance and gas money for the car Daddy bought them. At least they are friendly and always smiling. The only problem we have with the food at this McDonald's, (and it IS a constant, recurring problem), is you'll NEVER get an actual Large Size order of fries -- what you get is a small or medium order of fries in a large fry container. EVERY TIME!! Another issue with the fries -- don't plan on getting any fresh ones around 1pm or 6:30-7pm, you're gonna get the ones that were left over from being pre-made for the lunch/dinner rush and have been sitting under the heat lamp -- usually all greasy, limp and brown. Other than the French Fry issues, we've never had any problems with the rest of their food -- It's always fresh and hot. Another bonus is they get our drive-thru order right 97% of the time. The main issue/problem I have with this McDonald's is the lack of protection in the drive-thru from the elements. If it's pouring rain, prepared to get wet when lowering your window to order your food at the speaker, when paying and at the window where you receive your food. They have NO awnings where they should! There's no playland here (which I think is a good thing), minimal outdoor dining fixtures with no umbrellas (I think only two tables with benches), but the drive-thru ordering setup is efficient with two separate ordering speakers in two separate lanes and there's plenty of bike racks. read more

This McDonald's has bad customer service because it always seems to be manned with bored, indifferent teenagers. 4 out of 5 times your order will be wrong if you make any variations on what you order. I've been to this McDonald's multiple times over the past 2 years. EVERY TIME they have been rude and messed up my order. I ordered an iced coffee and breakfast one time and they put it on 2 separate orders. I told them at the window that it was just one order and they charged me for both, then at the next window they only gave me the coffee. I explained it to the woman and she was very annoyed, then proceeded to throw a bag in my face and say "OK HERE YOU GO". Was it the breakfast I ordered? No. It was a McChicken. McDonald's is one of the best restaurants to ever be created. I simply enjoy all the unhealthy foods and germy surroundings most importantly in the very safe McDonald's play place. This McDonalds is hit or miss for great food. The service is usually pretty good though yesterday I found it very difficult to understand the drive thru person because of her thick accent. I did have to laugh when I pulled up to the drive thru and the order screen had a sign taped to it saying they could only accept cash because the credit card line was down. What was funny was the sign was covering the order screen so you couldn't verify your order. The food was fresh and hot yesterday. The only complaint I can give right now might be with the connected gas station and the giant rat trap that is outside the door which you can't help seeing as you wait in the drive thru lane. Small McDonalds connected to a gas station. Relatively clean and bright. The food was the hottest and freshest McDonalds food I've had in a very long time. Good portion of fries and relatively quick. The shared bathroom with the gas station is a little sketchy but still ok. read more
