Instances such as being called derogatory terms like "nigger, cotton picker, spick, niger white, you don't belong here go back to where you came from," have created an atmosphere of hostility and exclusion. Additionally, I have endured demeaning looks and subtle racist comments, deeply impacting my well-being.
Unfair Treatment and Bias: McDonald's managers have demonstrated biased behavior, mishandling my food orders and resorting to aggression, including aggressively throwing food at me. Moreover, during a job interview, I was subjected to invasive questions about my age and race, highlighting systemic bias and unfair treatment within the organization.
Fear of Retaliation and Safety Concerns: The pervasive culture of racism and discrimination has instilled in me a profound fear of retaliation and physical harm. I am constantly apprehensive about speaking out, fearing unjust arrest or law enforcement involvement. This fear has taken a toll on my mental health and overall stability.
Lack of Support and Resolution: Despite reaching out to DoorDash and McDonald's Corporate, I have received dismissive responses and insufficient action. While instances of racism and discrimination were acknowledged, adequate solutions were not provided. The lack of a reference number from DoorDash support and the absence of follow-up calls have left me feeling helpless and vulnerable.
Witnessed Discriminatory Behavior: In addition to my personal experiences, I have witnessed McDonald's employees making derogatory comments about mixed-race workers in front of customers, further underscoring the prevalent culture of racism and discrimination within the organization.
These experiences have caused me severe emotional distress, depression, and anxiety, impeding my ability to fulfill my job responsibilities effectively. The constant fear of retaliation and safety concerns have created a hostile work environment that is untenable.
I implore both McDonald's Corporation and DoorDash Corporate Team to conduct a thorough investigation into these matters and take immediate action to address systemic issues of racism, discrimination, and bias within your organizations. Proactive measures must be implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees and contractors, irrespective of race or ethnicity.
Regrettably, I am left with no alternative but to escalate this matter further.
