Gin, tequila, wine, wishky, name it. The food is mainly burger, as the name of the place clearly state, but there's still other stuff like salads. There's a good list of appetizer to choose from that will paire well with your burger. The place have a small outdoor terrasse and a 2 story indoor seating area. But it's small, it will fill up fast. It is not the cheapest burger option. Prepare to pay over 20$ before tax for a small burger and a fries. It can easily goes to 30$ a burger and that's without counting the extra if you swap fries for poutine or other option. The burger themself are very good, and you can even swap the buns for lettuce which is nice when you're cutting carbs. The service on the other hand was very slow. The waitress kept chatting with her friend at the table beside us which made the service pretty non existant. Also, the bathroom are on the second floor and there's no elevator. You also have many stairs to walk up to get in the restaurant.

It's gluten friendly and tonight I ate at the bar. I had a Montréal smoked meat smash burger on lettuce bun with coleslaw. Simply delicious. Did I mention they make the perfect size and shape lettuce buns. The actually look like a bun!

We were alone in the restaurant minus one other gentleman but I'm not sure if he worked there and was on a break. The wall was full of hockey memorabilia which was neat to see upon walking in. The food- my gosh- some of the best burgers and fries. I wish there was one closer to where I live- it would be amazing (yet dangerous for my waistline) to have burgers and fries that close by. The burgers are moist and flavourful, the fries remind me of better Belle Province fries. They're just as delicious but less greasy. I never get anything too fancy- just a regular burger, but my fellow diners often get the Capicolo burger and they love it. They give great portion sizes and I went home with some leftover fries which I am very happy about now that I'm drooling just from writing the review... Can't wait to go back in the future.

I tried their original "Buck" burger which has a regular patty, cheese, capicollo slice, hot peppers, tomato, onion and lettuce. I also opted for a poutine, which was quite good. Not sure what makes this burger place special, it seems to be an institution and widely liked by many, but the flavors were lacking. There is little to no seasoning on the patty, and no special sauce that would help make the burger pop. It's nice that you can choose how you want you bun (steamed, toasted or dipped) however the overall meal is still a little boring. Luckily the poutine sauce was delicious, it's thick and peppery and the fries were seasoned well too. If you are expecting really thick, juicy and decadent gourmet burgers, don't get the Buck. Perhaps the cheeseburger with bacon would be a better choice but make sure to ask for mayo or ketchup as they don't come by default.

Working in Montreal for a couple of weeks and it's dinnertime. I usually will head into downtown to…read moreget dinner, but I was feeling lazy this evening so I did some Yelp'ing around what was near me. I found Twister Burger which was didn't have a large amount of ratings, but they had a big menu so I chose them! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off a pretty wide street that doesn't seem like a main road is this gem. There's no private parking lot so you'll have to park on the street in the neighborhood, but I didn't have a hard time finding space. Once inside you're transported back to like... the 40s? 50s? Whenever the soda fountain era was with the black/white checkered walls, neon lights and the whole thing. Lol. It was cute. The restaurant is fairly small and that's okay! It makes for a more comfortable and cozy feel. I got my food to go so I didn't have to stay long. Service: The gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful and make sure I got everything that I needed. He also helped me since most of the menus are in French. Food: I started off with their Taco Salad, but as of now I don't see it listed on their menu anymore. Anyway, it's basically their now Southwest Salad which contains mixed greens, corn, red onion, avocado, fried tortillas and shredded cheese, served with chipotle ranch. But instead of being in a bowl, it's in a fluffy, crispy taco shell which was very flavorful and enjoyable. It worked well. The name of the place is called Twisted Burger so I had to try at least one of them. I decided on the Trio Diablo Burger which is 130g beef (1/3 lb), jalapeños, monterrey jack cheese, habanero salsa, grilled onion, chipotle mayonnaise and lettuce, and tomatoes. It kinda slid apart in transport, but I was able to put it back together at my hotel room and it was fine. Nothing super crazy or explosive to report. It was a decent burger and satisfied my cravings for sure. The beer-battered onion rings were okay too. Nothing special and I don't think I was expecting anything out of this world either. Most beer-battered onion rings taste the same, so it's good that it's a familiar flavor to recognize. Value: My taco salad was $14.95CAD, my burger was $10.95CAD and my onion rings were $4.95CAD. This is a GREAT DEAL on the amount of food I had for sure. Looking for a cheap date, something quick, nothing fancy, I dig this place for sure.

I'm particular about my fries, preferring them to be on the crunchy side, but that's because I like texture with every bite. Compared to other fries I've had, these definitely past the test in pairing with the burgers. They also serve beers on draft, along with a ton of options that aren't the typical soda options. They seemed to be intentional with their options, which I appreciate. I'd say this place has a lot of potential of being the burger and late night spot in Verdun, given that they close at 10PM and have more options than just burgers and fries, but also a chicken sandwich, salad, different kinds of fries and poutine, along with different kinds of sweet drink options such as frappes, limonades, wine, and even cocktails! I'd say if there was a place of opportunity, without getting into the nitty gritty details that I typically care to comment on, I'd say it'd be the lighting. It's so bright, almost hospital like. My suggestion is to go with warmer and less lights. Definitely check out Joyo, but bring a pair of sunglasses, just in case.
