The Azteca burger we tried, which contains a spicy chocolate sauce - not something found everywhere here, was absolutely divine. All the burgers are halal and come with your choice of spicy, fine herbs, garlic or traditional bun options. (All made in-house) Being who we are, we decided to try a burger AND a hot dog. While we suggest you have both, the portion of the hot dog is a full meal on its own. That 12" is no joke both in size and in taste. Another rarity among local restaurants. We were encouraged to try the smoothies and we are thankful for that. The Guanabana smoothie is incredible and refreshing. And added to all that, we loved the playlist that we heard during our visit. Great classic 80's music the entire time we were there. Our final conclusion is that @laburger is not afraid to be creative and unique. They seem to want to push the boundaries of what is considered traditional for this type of cuisine. This is food with personality and we like that a lot. It also have Doritos in it (although the quantity of Doritos is often lacking or its very small you don't really taste / see it). The food is now good. They are known for their drink served in a mason jar. I found the jar have shrunk with time. It used to be served in the big one and now its the small one. The thing, at least at this location, that is often lacking is the service. It's slow, don't expect to do a come and go. You will run out of water and probably never see anyone to fill it. No more wonderful steak Philly on the Friday. Most of what was offered on that daily menu is permanently gone. They added many different poutine that actually existed before but part of a secret menu you could learn from their social network page. Some starter too. They change the recipe of some of the food. The Mac N cheese is now more creamier and the cheese is more present and flavourful. I never had it by itself, but in the poutine Mac TeX, it's a miss for me. It used to be the poutine I always take when I go there, poutine Mac TeX. Tried it 4 times already since the switch, always the same and I don't like it unfortunately. Maybe others don't. From the post they made on Instagram stating that it was now creamier due to popular demand, I guess that's how people like it. But I think people was taking it by itself and not into a poutine (I never see much people eating a mac te when I'm there). Also the new Mac N cheese on the Mac TeX make it you taste nothing except the creamy liquid cheese from the Mac N cheese, nothing else. I normally add the homemade steak sauce available on the table in the poutine and when I tried it with the new recipe, it wasn't good. I also trie the dirty Poutine. I totally forgot what it is. There's like 2 sauce, I think it's meat sauce? Sorry I really forget. It was good, but about half way through, I was done with the taste just like the current Mac TeX. I still finished it though. Again, it's not bad, everyone has different taste and I started by liking it. I had the same experience when eating the smashburger poutine after eating a smash burger. Don't do it, take either one, not both unless your really into the taste of smashburger cause that's the only thing you taste. Last time I went, I took again the smashburger double cheese and bacon, a must for me, and I took a regular poutine. First time in what, 2 years and at least 30 visit that I take the regular one. It was good. I do miss my og Mac TeX but it's a good replacement. The bonus is it cost about 10$ less and fill less, so I was able to take something off the desert menu for the first time. I toon the chocolate cake and it was very good. The service is always good when I go there. It might be a bit a miss when it's overbooked specially if your table is hidden In a corner (happened a bit in the past). The only reason I bring from 5 to 4 stars is only because I prefered the old menu and old recipe. I did talk to a staff last time about the Mac TeX recipe and was told sometime it's because of new chef. I guess he wasn't aware that the recipe actually change, he did seemed new since I hadn't seen him before.
