It's a kids place. Poutine was fine. Hot dogs terrible. Glad it was somebody else in my group that chose here for dinner.... Pass.

Poutine extra-cheese extra-sauce

After having tried a myriad of delicious poutines I was told that none compared to Gérard's poutines. So we went out for a try. Place is clean, lots of parking, not very well organized but sufficient. Inside the place looks like it must have looked in the 60's when it opened up. As well, it also looks like it was made bigger by using their storage space which was converted to a dining room. Everything is nice and cozy, has a distinct 60's Quebec feel, when the 117 used to be filled with french fry stands. Service was ok, nothing out of the ordinary, place wasn't over-crowded. Ordered an extra-cheese extra-sauce poutine, per recommendation of a friend. Size is ok, but not for the small-bellied. A little pricey for the size. You can taste the sauce is homemade, but I can tell its a sauce mix with certain personal items added (like clove). Feels like the fries are frozen, but the restaurant prides itself on the fact that the potatoes are all home-grown/home-made. The cheese tastes great, but the kurds are a little too big and keep their cold too much, therefore they don't melt. So how's it taste? Not bad at all. I'd put this poutine about the same level of goodness as La Belle Province, but with a differently flavoured sauce. There are other poutine spots that are MUCH better. If you're in the area it's totally worth going to, but not worth a lengthy detour in my view. Not bad at all.

I would say, the burger I tasted was better then a MC Donald, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there. For me, right next to is Dic An's which I prefer, but it's a different type of burger. It is good burger, I wouldn't say no to eat there again. I liked the soft buns and the meat was properly seasoned. The condiment was right, not a small dab that you can't taste, it was dripping on my hands. Some won't like but that's how I like it. It's not extraordinary burger, it's a fast food one but good. I tried the poutine and it was 90% a mcd poutine. Same sauce, same taste except with bigger fries which I do like. The fries were properly cooked. The place itself is small and there is a big mural that is funny to look at. It seems to depict a story of fries trying to snatched the burger trophy from a safe that they blow using a mustard bomb while ketchup try to defend it. I would come back, but not make a detour for it.

I tried the Brie burger, not sure if it was a mistake or not but there was a full size cheese inside the burger . It tasted absolutely amazing however half a cheese would have sufficed . The service was great, place was very clean. Portion size were perfect and price was very cheap considering the full size cheese per burger. I will be back to try their other flavors.

I decided to walk down Rue Saine-Catherine to see if anything stood out to me. Patty Slaps caught my eye as soon as I passed it, and since burgers sounded good we decided to check it out. Patty Slaps is a fast casual spot. Walking in, we were greeted by a large, open space with communal tables the main production area towards the back. Ordering is done on kiosks up front - the menu is somewhat limited, but they have several types of burgers which are able to be customized to your liking. I didn't want to get too big of a burger, so I went with the Patty Jr. and customized some of the sauces. The burger itself was good, albeit I'm glad I got the junior size as it was a little too greasy for my liking - it had that glazed doughnut look. We also got some poutine to share which was good but not the best I've had in the city. Service was fast, and overall I enjoyed my meal at Patty Slaps. It's good for what it is, and I wouldn't be mad if circumstances found me here in the future.

Let now talk about the fries not only really well seasoned but really thin and crispy which give them a huge demarcation with all others burgers joints definitely great place and very affordable
