I love dicanns. Use to come here with mt father as a kid like he did with his. The place didn't change, still the same great service, good food, fast service and spacing. They added outdoor seating with times. The menu didn't really changed. Some new item appeared but in the end, most of the addition are mostly combination that most people did. For exemple, double cheeseburger extra cheese. This is now a Quattro. I think in the new items are chicken burger chickann, chicken strip and wally burger. They did remove a lot of the sports stuff as a decor. Three used to be a lot of signed stuff but now there's none. read more

So it finally happened.. I finally tried Dic Ann's for the first time. It's not like I didn't try for over 5 years or so.. It's the most hardest task to do as they are always closed and have weird limited hours at this location. I use to live close by, and everytime I drove by it was sadly closed ... However last night was the night I saw life in there .. and swerved in without hesitation lol I Took the first spot available in the parking lot and rushed inside before they close their doors aha who knows when they decide to open/close. Don't rely on the opening hours.. its not always accurate. Atmosphere: Geez a flock of people kept coming inside just like I did to get their fix. Food: Dirty Comfort just what I like. Had their Hi Boy with cheese and a poutine Hi Boyzzzzzz was awesomeeeeeeeeee 5/5 I can't recommend it enough taste sooo yummy. The patty was grilled so nicely and the cheese was oozing in so nicely on the patty. The bread is a bit stale and different .. it looks like a pancake bun lol I don't know wether I like it or not .. it's still growing on me .. I guess I'll have to try it again. Poutine: 3/5 I wish it had a bit more gravy .. the fries were delicious really liked the julienne style cut but they use mozzarella cheese instead and there was barely any gravy in my poutine .. bummer but still very delicious. Service: fast and efficient you get your food very quick and Cant complain. The cost: Very affordable like 2-4$ My hi Boy was 3.25$ and poutine was around 5$ pretty standard and cheap for what you get .. quality is around 4/5 but it's a landmark I'm guessing and it has not changed in forever. Was driving in Laval and saw that dic Ann's was open. I believe the last time I was there was 20 years ago. The place looks the same with a few minor upgrades. The food quality and their own twist on certain dishes is terrible. First, the gravy for their poutine is extremely watery, has a grainy texture, is non-traditional (odd flavors and has pieces of minced meat in it) and the taste itself is lackluster. Reminiscent of a somewhat sweet and watered down spicy spaghetti sauce. The cheese is not bad (hard to mess that up), but it's not cheese curds. The chicken burger is exactly what you'd get in a grocery store's freezer. It's not fresh white meat chicken, it's one of those supermarket pre-packaged and branded frozen ones. I have been eating at Dic Ann's since this location opened in 1981. There are several locations now but I haven't been to this particular restaurant in years. Nothing has changed since 1981 except for the prices. It's literally like walking back into the 80's. That said, I am a big fan of Dic Ann's. My only complaint is that they do not put enough of their special sauce that made them famous on the poutine. All other locations that I have visited do put a more generous amount of sauce. The food is served quick, hot and fresh. It's a little bit pricey but when you have a craving for their sauce the price will not make a difference. read more

Dic Ann's was an acquired taste for me. I didn't really think much about it the first time I went, but since I'm associated with other people that love this place, I've found myself back at this joint and enjoying it more and more each time. The first time I went, I went with a basic hamburger. Like four basic hamburgers (they're not that filling, I swear!). It had a unique sauce (with a kick!) and pretty good meat patty. The bun is squished down to the width of a pancake and then held together with a toothpick. The hi-boys, as they call it, is a patty with cheese, tomato and lettuce. These are actually much better than the plain burger and is much more filling (I only need three!). All in all, this is a unique burger. I don't hold it in as high regard as others do, but nevertheless it's good stuff. Inexpensive too. read more

I like going to Dic Ann's once a year to get their flat spicy burgers. It's an acquired taste that I tend to enjoy but don't love. I stick with the cheese hi-boys, which consists of a gaunt patty with spicy homemade sauce, two flat buns (which one is soggy due to the sauce), cheese, 1 tomato slice and some lettuce. I like their fries as well. It's inexpensive and worthy of a try. It's not for everyone though. read more

This place is as known as Schwartz's in Montreal. There is many locations now, and they just have the best thin burgers served with a lightly spicy sauce. There's nothing like it! I would recommend you try the basic 1 party cheeseburger or hamburger, all-dressed. And if you dare... ask for extra sauce! read more

I think that the original owners either franchised out or gave the business to their kids and it's not as good as it used to be back in the 70's in Montreal North. They are really cheap with their sauce which is the ingredient that sets them apart from other burger joints. I ordered a burger with sauce, only sauce, nothing else and it may have had a little sauce inside but didn't show. I didn't require the popsicle stick (provided to lift it out of the sauce) or even a napkin for that matter. When I asked for a little more sauce, they said that it would cost extra and that the sauce is measured for each burger. read more

It's a classic. You gotta eat there! Dic anns is my go to for good burgers! I've been going to that location for the last 20years and it is still as authentic as the first time I went there. I would recommend the cheeseburger, got for the fries, not the poutine. Their sauce is great in the burgers but not in the poutine. Keep on doin these awesome burgers! I've eaten in several Dic Anns locations and quality is usually on par. read more
