We will be back every time we are in town. In fact, we might plan special mountain trips just to go to Snap Dragon. For food, everything we had was yummy and plentiful. We had a burger, fries, a salad, and cannon balls - all delicious. The fried pickles are the best we have ever had, anywhere! The cocktail selection is great! Try the hurricanes - don't evacuate! These are not super sweet and there are many options. Category 2 and Category 3 are are favorites. We also enjoyed the Fire Tower and Painkiller. To top it off, the setting on the Burnsville square is quaint and Snap Dragon has indoor and outdoor seating amid lovely plants. They have beer and cider on tap, too. The service is outstanding as well. Go to Snap Dragon and enjoy!

The funny thing is, I didn't also expect to find the best salad in Burnsville - but I did. When I wanted a fresh, crisp salad that tasted like it was cut and prepared when I ordered it - I only found that at Bubba's. If that's not what they're doing, do not tell me otherwise. Service has always been exceptional and friendly. The atmosphere is equally family-friendly and the decor is supportive of local sports, and our industries. This is the neighborhood place. And unless you are going off hours, it's always packed and there's as much seating as it can accommodate, but that's not a whole lot. So, I'm always picking up and eating at home. I am a local now, I'd love to join the locals here, I'm just not sure when I'd do that, and as a solo-flyer, I'd be robbing people of valuable food real estate. Maybe in the Spring, more people will be eating outside and I can find a seat. Right now, that fifth star is on hold until I can experience the atmosphere first hand during a meal.

The lunch rush was wrapping up as I pulled into the parking lot. Main tables were still full but were clearing out. When I walked in, I wasn't totally sure if it was an order at the counter or seat yourself type place. For those reading this after, you can just seat yourself and a server will bring a menu by. The locals that came after me got a much warmer welcome than I did, but it was great to see that this community is tight-knit. I ordered a hot dog with chili, mustard, and slaw and a bacon cheeseburger. Everything came out pretty quickly. The hot dog had a nice chewy bun but the chili had a flavor to it that I didn't love. Maybe a spice, cinnamon? I not sure but it wasn't my favorite. The burger on the other hand was really good. I think it's simplicity is what makes it delicious plus a really nice serving of bacon. :) I got a slice of peanut butter cake to go. You know when you see 7 tupperware cake carriers on top of a counter that the desserts are going to be homemade and delicious. and it was! All in all, a nice stop. Thanks Lil Smoky's!

With to-go orders and dining room orders, we would have spent upwards of a hundred dollar bill this night. There was a group of young people sitting out back with one girl fanning the back door of this BK. The sign on the dining room door said closed and when I drove to the drive-thru lane, the group of young people informed me that the restaurant was closed because their system was down. OK. I thanked them and told them to have a safe night. They wished me the same. My cousin was in the process of rounding up his family and I knew he hadn't left home yet (he is only 4 miles out) so I pulled over in the parking lot, put the car in park and proceeded to try to look his phone up to call to let him know there was no reason to come into town. Unfortunately, this young girl, whom later I was told was named Claire West, came bounding up to the open window and informed me that their policy did not allow parking in their parking lot. Fist of all, we were not parking. And second, we are long term (think from the 1980s) customers of this local BK who is inconvenienced because their system is down and was merely trying to place a courtesy call to save a family member some time and expense in not coming out. I am furious. What is wrong with common decency? I cannot expect it among the younger people, and Ms. West certainly lived up to the bill, but what is wrong with BK management that they have to hire people who are rude, crude and crude and rude? I will be taking a break from this restaurant for awhile. As a long time customer who has supported this BK through thick and thin, I suggest others think about locally-owned and operated restaurants instead of these insensitive and, frankly, idiotic chains.
