When my Norwegian friends say hot, it's normally just a tickle on the tongue - but this was some real hot stuff. Fortunately I like hot dishes and think it was tasty, however if I'd known before I would suggest to add cheese to get a more balanced flavour. Great place to visit - the interior is not very cosy but alright - decent assortment of beers but the staff weren't very knowledgeable. The fries was normal but nothing special - to get a five they would need to add dip sauces to their menu, educate the staff about the beers and balance out the burgers a bit. All in all, four runners out of five athletes.

The location is four stops on the tram line from the city center of Bergen and definitely worth the short ride (or by taxi). It is actually an old very high-end pharmacy that has beautiful wood work and cabinetry. You will very much enjoy the ambiance, casual and well appointed. If you are looking for a local restaurant, away from the tourists, with great food this is it. There are about eight table seating twenty or so patrons. The menu is a four course fixed price menu with wine parings available. We had one person wait on us who was terrific, he explained the ingredients in every dish and brought us multiple additional courses. All of the dishes will really wonderful and beautifully plated. We didn't recognize many of the wines but each was a perfect match for the food. Don't be impatient this is a minimum two hour meal-we took almost three. But many of the locals were there before we arrived and still there when we left. Clearly this a gathering place for great food and friends!

Euro '25 Burger Tour continues…read more Just arrived in Bergen via the rails from Oslo and in desperate need of sustenance. This was just the place, only steps away from my Airbnb. It was quiet on Monday, 1945. Classic rock tunes playing, not too loud. You order up at the bar, and they bring you your food. What the heck is up with not having any mayo??? That in and of itself should constitute ONE STAR. But, the garlic aioli substitute was actually to die for, so I'll let it slide. The burgers are fairly 'well' cooked, but it was still pretty flavorful and moist. You do get your choice of patty size. I got a medium and actually felt it was on the small side, so keep that in mind. Comes with a side "salad" which is basically a few leaves, and the fries are pretty decent as well. The hot dipping sauce that comes with the Fireball burger packs a nice punch. Overall I thought the experience was good.

A small Bar in the back with a cozy dining area. Also, have outside seating. We started with appetizers-Mozzarella sticks and Onion Rings. Nothing special and were ok-no marinara for the Mozz sticks?-looks like you have to ask for it and there would be a charge. Enjoyed the Hansa (local) IPA and Mango (seasonal) IPA. Mostly a Burger (with some other sandwich & Vegan Burger options) themed spot with names that are based on ingredients or Chef stories. The Cabo Burger was "Burger of the day" and was enjoyed. I ordered the Fyllaburger-how could I pass up Norway's most famous Hangover Burger? -especially since I had a Travel Hangover- got the BBQ sauce on the side. Pickled jalapeños and their Aioli made for a tasty Burger. All Burgers are made well-done-apparently a legal requirement. Food/Drinks are ordered at the Bar and food is brought out to your table. Service was friendly. We saw they had another location in Bergen and a couple more in the region. Burger comfort can be found and experienced here.

The casing was super snappy - a joy to bite into. Flavours were on point - the toppings went well with this hot dog. We of course had their signature dish: The Reindeer sausage topped with lingonberry sauce, mustard, and crispy onions. The hype around this place is greatly deserved! The food is fresh, warm and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. Dining Style: It is a walk-up kiosk with no seating, restrooms, or table service. So be prepared to eat in the rainy Norwegian weather or walk back to your hotel or accommodation. If you cannot choose - I'd recommend a the reindeer hot dog with traditional toppings. With crazy working hours from 11am to 3-4 am, you can definitely grab a snack anytime of the day or night. Oh, and the hot dogs cost much more than three kroner like they originally did, back in 1946.
