Right away, I was charged a $10 office visit fee. I have had the same insurance for many years and have never been charged this before. My benefit information clearly states that basic services are covered at 100%, and there is no mention anywhere of an office visit charge. After X‑rays were taken, the dental hygienist measured my gums and immediately told me I needed a deep cleaning. I explained that I had two inflamed areas due to over‑flossing the night before, but she dismissed this entirely. She simply said, "Well, here's the treatment plan," turned the computer toward me, and left me staring at a computer screen that said $720.00. Based on other reviews, this appears to be a common practice at this office: patients come in expecting a routine cleaning and are told they need a deep cleaning, and even if they decline, the staff refuses to perform a regular cleaning. For context, my last dental cleaning was just six months ago, and I was told my gums were in perfect condition. While waiting for the dentist, I realized the person who appeared to be the dentist looked extremely unprofessional--as though he had just rolled out of bed. At that point, I decided to leave. I expect the $10 fee to be refunded. If it is not, I will be filing a formal grievance.

After that, we were left waiting in the room for another 45 minutes with no updates or communication from staff. When I finally asked what was going on, I was told the dentist still had another patient ahead of us. At that point, we decided to leave without even getting an exam. It's unacceptable to keep children waiting that long with no communication or consideration for families' time. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this office based on our experience. So since I've noticed for at least the past two years, at least the last two years of teeth cleaning has sped up the process of the periodontal disease. I'm not sure why he never voiced any of this but all the other dentist I've seen since then have basically been like yeah none of those teeth cleanings helped you. All they did was basically hurt you and help the bacteria grow and become more of a problem. So now over the past 10 years, I paid him and his father thousands of dollars out-of-pocket and more through insurance to basically help speed up the decay of my teeth. When I thought the whole time they were helping me. I would just go to a periodontal dentist, which is a specialist or a holistic dentist these regular dentist that pump this stuff in your mouth and then don't tell you about receding gums and stuff is very cheap car salesman like. To fix all the periodontal disease work and to help slow it down because it never stops and to fix the root canals that him and his father have done over the years could be upwards of $20,000. Keep that in mind when you go to these places and they try to act like they're doing stuff in your best interest.
