Great food, great service! Wait was no fun with the rain but had the ability to wait in the car. Donuts are amazing! Sundays breakfast all day, also they offer boat packs!

This place was awesome all around if I could it would be a 10+, that's how good it was. The service was very good, Anne Marie got us our drinks and kept them filled, also this is a family owned place. We had the pleasure of Ashley, whose husband is owner waiting on us and you can tell this is a great place as it was very busy. All the staff were great and helpful. The food was very delicious and Ashley got us a free donut hole to try. Oh my gosh was it good.. I had biscuits and gravy, with hash browns and scrambled eggs, excellent.. this is such a cute place I had to take pics. The ambiance of this place is wonderful, this place is a real gem, if you are ever up in Steinhatchee, Florida you have to go there. It is a must. They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday, but rest of time open from 6 am to 2 pm

Located in what looks like an old house, had a homie feel too. Service was great. They had two people checking on me constantly filling my drinks. The food was delicious! I would definitely eat there again.

Cuban sandwich and fries cooked to perfection. One bite from this Cuban, and you know it was made with love.

Very friendly service. I ordered the Cuban sandwich with some sauerkraut on it , with fries. And a large coffee. The coffee came out as black as night, which is my favorite. The Cuban sandwich was absolutely tender and mouthwatering delicious. One bite from it and you know it was made with love. The fries were perfectly cooked. I added my own pepper and garlic powder and some hot sauce.

We were greeted with a smile from the lady at the front desk, she took our order for a bacon & egg biscuit and a sausage & egg biscuit to go. We received friendly and prompt service. Both biscuits were very good. We would definitely recommend McDavids's Cafe. Give it a try!

I visited this local Southern cuisine while I was working in town with the law firm helping homeowners with the recent hurricane that hit , upon arrival, I was greeted by a local customer ( sitting in lobby ) which I thought was cute because you don't see that in bigger cities. I loved the energy in here . I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical walking over to this restaurant as a minority woman. I was greeted with a warm smile from Ashley and that just made my day , the food was delicious, I got chicken wrap and I ate every bit of it . Overall , I highly recommend this local hidden gem ! P.S It was not busy at all but I can see this place can get busy depending on what's going on in town that's just common sense ‍ PET Friendly!!!

We ordered jumbo blue crab claws, bacon cheeseburgers, bone-in wings, and washed it all down with cold beers. To top it off, we finished with a slice of Key Lime pie. Every single dish came out hot, fresh, and cooked to order -- exactly what you want after a full day on the water. But the real highlight of our visit was our waitress Kiley. She was absolutely fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made sure our drinks were never empty. Great service like hers is hard to find and makes all the difference. If you're in the Steinhatchee area and looking for great food and even better service, don't walk -- run to Deadman's Bay. We'll definitely be back next fishing trip!

Our waitress was attentive throughout the meal, and the manager/owner (I'm not sure which) personally came by to check on us. I also noticed him visiting other tables, which was a nice touch and showed good customer service. We originally wanted to sit outside because the view and setting are beautiful, but the Steinhatchee gnats were definitely out that evening. Unfortunately, I forgot our gnat spray -- and around here you know that's almost mandatory! We started with the conch fritters, and those were a hit with both of us. Very flavorful and definitely something I'd order again. I ordered the scallops, which were tasty, although they weren't served very hot and the breading was falling off a bit. My husband had the shrimp dinner and enjoyed his meal as well. The salad bar was fresh and nicely stocked, which we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would return, especially for the atmosphere, friendly service, and conch fritters.

We were warned that there were only 2 wait staff on at the time, and to be patient. To that, our waitress had the sweetest southern accent, her name started with an M, she was amazing. She handled her section, yes we waited but had no real complaints. The prices were a bit out of line with the food offerings. I paid $25.99 for some tender, juicy shrimp and $29.99 for a plate of "fried scallop" all were the size of a nickle and tasted like punched ray wing. I iver heard another customer state that they would like more chicken in their Chicken Alfredo, as the serving they got, 4 peices was ridiculous for the price they charge.

A very entertaining, true Florida, off the beaten path experience. While the restaurant is not the best in the world, it's pretty good and the only option on a Tuesday night that we could find. The place was crowded and we were taken care of with the right level of attention. We stayed in the newly remodeled first floor of one of the buildings. There's still lots of cleanup and re-building to do. It's a little sad to see Steinhatchee suffer so much. But glad to see folks trying to make a go of life again.

While visiting family nearby in Chiefland, we stopped into Cedar Key one morning before our trip concluded. It was a Wednesday in July, and overall the area was not super busy. We came up to The Prickly Palm around noon on a Wednesday in July, and were one of a few customers there. This coffee trailer is located in the main part of Cedar Key. I recently learned that they used to have a brick and mortar, but that was unfortunately destroyed by the hurricane last year. Despite this, their trailer and whole current set-up is very cute and inviting. The trailer is set up along 2nd Street, and sits in the back of the lot. You will see a sandwich board sign indicating where the lot is, along with a ton of outdoor seating under tents. There is not a dedicated parking lot specifically for The Prickly Pear, but we had no issue finding street parking right near the entrance. The menu here is very diverse and full of variety! Not only do they have coffee, but there are also smoothies, açaí bowls, milkshakes, and breakfast items. I was especially impressed with the variety of flavoring for the coffees. Sometimes, places only have a few flavors. However, there was a solid collection of flavors and different combinations marketed for customers to choose from! It seems like there are seasonal options available, as they had a lot of banana coffee options on this particular day. I appreciated the different sizing options for the coffee. Especially for the iced, as typically a lot of local coffee places do not have bigger sizes (comparable to a Dunkin or Starbucks). The Large Iced is 32OZ, which was a pleasant surprise! They did seem to have a size for everyone, whether they want a lot of coffee or just a regular amount. I personally ended up ordering a Large Iced Banana Nut Mocha Latte, but requested half of the syrups to tone down the sweetness. It was really good! I am iffy at times on banana flavoring, as I am not a fan of artificial banana. Even so, I liked this latte and enjoyed it throughout the afternoon. The others I was with all enjoyed their drinks as well! This was my first time visiting here, and the employees could not have been more welcoming! I asked for recommendations and their favorites, and they gave a lot of good suggestions and information. There were three of us total, each getting a large latte or cold brew. The total was a little under $30 for all of it. So, this place is a little more expensive than other spots, but I do believe the value is there. Plus, you are supporting a small business which is a win! Loved visiting The Prickly Palm for the first time. We tend to come to the area at least once a year, and I look forward to our next visit so I can make another trip to The Prickly Palm for a delicious latte! I would recommend giving this spot a try if you find yourself in Cedar Key.
