We had the very typical suburban oak trim and oak floors with oak kitchen cabinets - a sea of orange wood everywhere. And they were those builder-grade-fall-apart-if-you-look-at-them-hard quality. And they sort of held up, but after 18 years of a an active family and constant use, they were dead. I shopped around, and met with 7 different cabinet companies. We chose Country Cabinets because they had a quality product, allowed more customization, and are local. Working with Dave and Mary just sealed the deal. This is a family owned business that's local to the TC, and their ability and professionalism shows in everything they do. They don't just go the extra mile for you, they'll drive across the state. Their pricing is fair, their style is amazing, and I have never seen kitchen cabinets at any price point made this well. Seriously though - I have been in much more expensive houses than mine, and their cabinets couldn't hold a candle to these. It's actually likely that these cabinets will outlive the rest of the house. If you're shopping for anything for your home that involves cabinetry, you've got to call Country Cabinets. They've done our kitchen and we've already hired them again for another project. They're amazing!

Our 36-home HOA hired A Step Up to clean our dryer vents. When the crew arrived the first time, I spoke with them personally and watched them trying to figure out the equipment they had been given. The worker I photographed had a cordless drill, a flexible rod that appeared to be only about 4-5 feet long, and a small brush. Our dryer vents are approximately 4 inches in diameter and mine runs more than 30 feet. Several homeowners questioned whether their vents had actually been cleaned, and our HOA eventually had A Step Up return to redo the work. During the return visit, my security camera captured the crew handling their ladder behind my home. During that visit, a Mother Mary statue that had been in our family for more than 20 years was shattered. The pieces were simply piled behind my home. Nobody from the crew came to my door to tell me what happened or apologize. I immediately reported the damage to our HOA. A Step Up asked for permission to contact me directly, which I gave them. They never contacted me. A week later I followed up again and requested $155 to replace the statue. I still received no contact or reimbursement. To make matters worse, I photographed my dryer vent after their second cleaning attempt, and there was still a significant amount of lint/debris accumulated around the vent opening. I have photos and security-camera footage documenting the equipment used, the crew handling the ladder, the broken statue, and the condition of the vent after the second cleaning. Accidents happen. What matters is how a company responds when they happen. Coming to my door, acknowledging the damage, apologizing, and replacing a $155 statue would have gone a long way.

The other went North breaking another neighbor's fence, clipping their garage and smashing a section of rain gutter. Both limbs were 12 " in diameter from the break and 40-50 ft long. Arbor Barber had been on our block previously doing some work for a neighbor and they did a great job. I gave them a call and Tim, the head guy, was able to stop by that afternoon to assess the job and give us a bid. We were so happy to learn he could get it done the next day. The team arrived the next morning and knocked out the project before Noon. They had to remove the debris by hand as we didn't have any easy access for equipment. They were so respectful and tidy. The neighbor's yards looked as good as new, minus the damage to the fences. We highly Arbor Barber!
