As soon as they drive off the door was the same as before. Its an insulated door but in the cold winter it has terrible condensation and when opened water comes out of every panel. I decided to replace it since it was almost 20 years old, and it was only $100 difference between the number of repairs needed vs a new unit. He priced the new unit the same cost as it was being sold at the big box stores near me (I checked online), and his labor cost was VERY reasonable. He showed up on time and stayed late into the evening to make sure it was fully cleaned up and functioning properly. When he left, my garage was cleaner than when he arrived!! Also, I can barely hear my garage door operate because he did such a fantastic job it runs up and down quiet and smooth - I was shocked at the difference. I worked with Steve in the past and he always performed excellent work at a very FAIR price. Todd has since bought the company from Steve several years ago. I was unaware of this. I called to have my pad replaced. Todd arrived and fiddled with it for a few minutes and then told me he doesn't have any pads but would need to order me one. My garage door and springs did not squeak but he wanted to oil them anyway. I had no other problems other than needing my pad replaced. My belt was fine but he said he wanted to tighten it. Todd found work to try to justify his time of coming out without a pad for replacement. He was here 20 minutes and charged me $125. He said he'd call me when a pad comes in and he would have to come back out for another service appointment. North Country Garage Door has lost a customer. Please use ANY other company for your garage service needs.
