Andy is a terrific tutor- he taught her a lot in terms of skills and strategies, and he knew when to push, how to connect with her interests and motivate her, and how to use humor as necessary to keep her working hard. And, I am so grateful to Renata as well as the MJ office staff who were always patient, flexible, kind and helpful in terms of scheduling, rescheduling, billing, etc. All in all it was a great experience and I am grateful to everyone at MJ- worth every penny.

I echoed with David (previous reviewer). I am taking a course which is probably one of the most…read moreexpensive classes. I was excited to start the class and waited till the class opened and did the part I saw through the portal. Then I emailed the professor and checked if I needed to do anything else before the class. He responded to my email and said that I would pass the class. So, I attended the first class and realized attendance was not necessary. The professor talked nonstop about his background and his experience. One of the classmates literally asked if he could talk about the exam which everyone worried about. We got through the whole class by chatting and going over the quizzes, no lecture at all. He did not even go into details of what was expected in the exam. The class has no clear instruction of the agenda/syllabus. I only followed the content to complete the on-going tasks to get my grade. The lesson review has repeated information. What I meant is on each topic, it has written description, then it has old slides on a video and then there's a JD talked over the same topic again. All the information is the same. Then there's a reading assignment of about 50s pages every chapter assigned other than the textbook. If by chance, repetition will make us pass, then why do we need to have a "professor". Any moderator can do that part, even an assistant. Other than that, there's a forum type of discussion for each lesson. It's like nonstop feed (around 50s) coming through every day. Honestly, we are not "real" students who have nothing to do but go to class. We have work during the day. I honestly think that everyone has their own opinions. What's the point of chatting about the same topics and reading things 100x every day. That doesn't help us to pass the class. In addition, the exam is scheduled with prometric. I am totally nervous for the exam. Seriously, I still have no idea what will be in the exam. The most frustrating experience was customer services. There are days that school closes early. There are other days that no one picks up. The worst experience was that the Advisor claimed I consumed her time and refused to listen to my frustration. The whole purpose is to ask if she has some tips to get by the course. She literally said I used her 16 minutes, and we were not going anywhere, but she also could not provide me help except telling me to talk to my professors. Oh well, if my company reimburse me elsewhere, I will totally not to choose American College. I will tell you why: (1) unreliable instructors (2) bad customer services (3) useless designation advisors NOOOO... highly NOT recommending American College of Financial Services, unless you have lots of time to go over the troubles.

I am a Financial Planner currently studying for the CFP.Materials seem pretty good, reviews tests…read moreare pretty good. HOWEVER... At every single step of the way, ordering books, registering for classes, and talking to their "customer support", it has been an unmitigated disaster. I have had to watch them like a hawk to ensure delivery of books, registration of correct courses, and receiving test results. In order to get simple textbooks THAT I HAD PAID FOR it took weeks of chaos, wrangling, and following up with them just to get a simple book. While customer support can be helpful, you'll often sit on the phone for 20-30 minutes waiting, and then it's a crap shoot as to whether whatever problem they caused gets fixed after you hang up. I've lost at least a month of study time due to their incompetence. A business like this is supposed to help students pass. Their materials, again, seem pretty good. However, everything else seems like a disaster.

Joan has a unique ability to develop separate authentic relationships with students and parents through her very genuine approach, straight-forward communication with a principled and effective approach honed by decades of experience. This also includes not shying away from having the difficult conversations not always easily received by children nor parents based on a wealth of experience and conducted with grace. The value of this unique skill can not be overstated and helps pave the way to a sometimes new and very necessary communication cadence within families as our children begin their journey to becoming truly independent adults. Academic Accesses approach is thoughtfully constructed with purposeful nuance in every facet of the work. I particularly love the essay writing team/writing muse/editorial process. It gave me the confidence to not dig into my children's essays which would have resulted in them being MY essays - a situation admissions departments see straight through. With two very different children their final products were radically different and both made me weep providing a different type of opportunity to truly "see" my children in all their glorious blossoming independent ways. Our entire experience was a gratefully received gift that not only resulted in both of our children being admitted ED to their first choice schools (both schools that we as parents recommended, but our kids wanted nothing to do with until they heard that Joan also enthusiastically recommended these schools from her own purview) but quite literally saved our sanity during a process that due to very normally teenage growth cadence is naturally a combative time between parents and children. I will forever be grateful to Joan and her team. I 100% recommend without reservation and would happily talk to anyone at anytime.

Filling out college applications and writing essays is like a deep dive into something you've never…read moreexperienced before. Academic Access was the perfect choice to help our daughter successfully chart a course and navigate these deep waters. From the beginning - Joan's familiarity with an enormous range of different schools helped our daughter to discover schools that checked all the boxes of things she wanted in a school, providing her with schools she'd not even considered. Throughout the process, Joan and her team were there every step of the way - providing guidance, instilling confidence, and helping our daughter find just the right unique and interesting essay information to share for a strong application and a positive outcome. The stress that comes with applications was minimized by having experts available whenever she had questions or needed help. The most valuable part (to me as a parent), was that the experts were also able to guide her without sounding like a "critical parent", thus keeping peace in our home throughout the process. Joan and her team kept our daughter on track with application deadlines, while keeping stress levels at a very comfortable level, and our daughter was accepted and now attends one of her top two choices. Since our experience with Academic Access, I have recommended Joan to at least 7 or 8 friends (I've lost count!) whose students have all had similar experiences with great outcomes! Thanks Joan! Working with you was one of the best decisions we've ever made.

My son has attended Supplee Church Nursery School for almost two years and I have only wonderful…read morethings to say about the school. I love that the school is focused on the children learning while having good, old-fashioned fun. As long as it's not raining or too cold, the children go outside to the playground every day. In my experience, this happens on most days throughout the winter. The teachers are so caring and nurturing with the children and their projects and activities with the children are so adorable and innovative. For instance, around Christmastime this year the children helped to bake gingerbread cookies. When they went into the kitchen with their teachers to see if the cookies were finished, the gingerbread men had escaped and the children had to look around the school to find them! The children helped to make the blueberry muffins for a muffins with mom event. Around Easter, the school gets a delivery of eggs in an incubator and the children excitedly watch the eggs every day to see if they can see them hatch. I could go on and on about the sweet activities that the school has for the children. My son looks forward to going to school every day and always asks me what "day" it is, as there is a theme for each day. I wholeheartedly recommend Supplee to any parent who is looking for a school where the teachers truly care about your child and help them to learn while having fun.
