Nicole and her staff at the Huntington Learning Center in Langhorne were AMAZING!!! We first enrolled our daughter at a different facility, and her SAT results were not what she had hoped for. Our daughter went to Huntington because our neighbor suggested them. She received one on one tutoring. Her recent SAT results were OVER AND BEYOND of what we expected!!! It's my pleasure to write a glowing review for The Huntington Learning Center, specifically this location near the Oxford Valley Mall. In no uncertain terms, Nicole and Amanda changed our son's life based on their care, support, flexibility, focus, experience and organization. First of all, they're educators, parents (ok...Nicole is!) and love kids. Second of all, they know what they're doing, how to build a plan of attack and get the results you're looking for. We were in a major panic mode when our son took the SSATs late to apply to a highly selective private high school. We gave our son NO prep (heavy parent guilt here) and our A/B student who takes advanced classes really got hammered on the results. Without much time to work, Nicole and Amanda changed their personal schedules during the Holidays to get us a seemingly impossible amount of tutoring. My son loved working with them - and to see an 8th grader enjoy tutoring over the holiday break is really saying a lot. It's very clear to us that The Huntington Learning Center is a very special place, full of experienced teachers and educators who know how to connect with kids and help them grow. Our son's SSAT scores improved dramatically - and he got into a school with under a 20% acceptance rate. And - our son has two friends who studied at Huntington for SSAT prep and also got into this awesome high school. We are blessed for this experience for our son and it wasn't going to happen without Nicole and Amanda. This was money well, well spent. read more

After having an unsatisfactory experience 5 years ago with tutoring, we gave the location another chance for Test Prep. The center director started off the meeting attempting to scold us for her own misconduct and incompetence by quoting the wrong time for pickup for our daughter by over 20 minutes. The location was understaffed and had nobody running the reception desk. I had to enter the back area on my own to find my child after standing at the unattended window for 3 minutes. Needless to say, we aren't going to place our child in the oversight of someone this oblivious and this rude to a customer. Terribly run location before, even worse. Stay away. The center director is about as incompetent and unprofessional as they come, she should be fired. read more

The Huntington Learning Center in Langhorne helped my daughter with her school work and gave an accurate assessment in my opinion of where she needed help. My only issue is they had a change in management halfway through the initial program we paid for. Under the new management, I felt they did not provide the same level of service, employees seemed confused/overworked and could not answer questions. I think there was pressure to get more students in their program and increase revenue with no consideration for customer service. My daughter was supposed to take a final test, but it was never scheduled so I was told they would reimburse me for my last $25 that I did not use. I called asking about it and even stopped by and was told they would send it to me. I never received it. When my daughter started having trouble with school the next school year I turned to the school district for free tutoring. read more

Stay clear of this group. The business practices from corporate down to this locally franchised learning center are, to be kind, deceptive. As a father of a daughter that learns differently than other students, I need to verify that all parties involved in her academic future are well versed when teaching this type of student. Our daughters mother and I are highly active in this process and we take it very seriously. Now that our daughter is a senior we knew before she ever took the first practice test that outside assistance would be required. Her school supplied a list of local tutors and I started the interviewing process. This was our criteria; no group settings, no video remote learning, one on one instruction only. After careful consideration we narrowed our search to two. Huntington Learning Center and a private tutor. We unfortunately selected HLC. Big mistake! It was rocky start to begin with. During my initial contact with HLC's corporate sales person I clearly explained that my daughter is approved to have extra time when taking test. Not provided. She did so poorly on the test that HLC's proprietary grading system couldn't provide an accurate assessment on how to move forward. The owner Phil even chuckled that the results were so bad that the hours required to get her into an acceptable range were in the hundreds. He was going to have to calculate the hours required manulaly. Phil explained he had a gut feeling that there was a highly bright student within our daughter and that we should proceed with confidence that Huntington Learning Center was the answer. One on one tailored instruction. Not even close. Our daughter went through the process she had no less than seven different instructors and the two that she finally connected with were no longer available.Everything that we thought that our daughter would be provided never happened. We were deceived from our very first contact with corporate to our dealings with the owner of this HLC. read more
