I am an international student from Russia that lived in Russia, Turkey, Italy, and now I have moved to United States. I have changed more than 5 schools in different countries in my 18 years of life. But, this school is the best school that I have ever attended. I am so glad that I am studying in this school. The Principal of the school is a very kind and smart. The Vice Principal of the school is strict but very nice. She is always on everything, you won't be able to hide anything from her. Both the Principal and Vice Principal helped me an uncountable amount of times! The school doesn't feel like a regular school, but more like a family where we, the students, get our education. Every day at school, it feels like I come to visit a group of friends, and we are going to study some interesting science stuff together! This is my last year of high school, and I am so glad that I am finishing my high school education in this school. read more

SciCore Academy - Grades 11 & 12 - Elementary Schools Near Me - Hightstown, New Jersey

I attended SciCore Summer Camp, roughly about 9 years ago for their summer camp. I'm currently a college senior. I usually don't have issues and don't hold grudges, but I believe Mrs. Poulos is too strict towards children and doesn't actually have the required credentials to actually teach and discpline students. Like I get you're married to a PhD from Northwestern and have raised four children, but that doesn't automatically qualify you to start a private school and start controlling hoards of students. According to the school's own website, Mrs. Poulos holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Westminster Choir College. Like I'm sure you know what you're doing and it's a private school so you can get away with basically whatever you want, but Mrs. Poulos needs to be a nicer person towards her students, especially young people. If after nine years, I still recollect her with such disgust, then maybe it's time other parents realize. Like I know you may be seeing results, but you're not there with your students while things are being done. In a highly-funded public education state like New Jersey, there's certaintly better options then this "private school", who's owners are more busy with their main business, and treating this school as another for-profit entitiy of which to make money off of. But, and I know there's a lot of tangents, the point is that Mrs. Poulos rudness to her own students and lack of qualifications are reason enough not entrust your children's education with her. She's mean, catankerous, and quite frankly a bore to be around. Not sure if she's changed in nine years, but why take that risk with your children. read more

As someone who attended this school for eight years, I advise to steer clear of this "institution" at all costs. While I have learned valuable academic skills from a (very) select few teachers, these lessons cannot compare to the slow-burning emotional abuse myself and my peers have faced at a young age. The principal and vice principal, who are the owners, instill fear into their small student body and limit their worldview. The vice principal verbally punishes her students so harshly to the point that whenever she entered a room or was heard walking the hall, fear and anxiety immediately struck in all of our hearts. She would violently scream at students for harmlessly conversing during school hours and would make public comments about students' appearance and activities during daily morning assemblies. When she discovers students are not returning to the school the following year, she guilt-trips them into staying in an overtly desperate attempt for tuition dollars. For example, one day she brought me and all of my friends into a room and said "You know, you will never see each other again or remain friends if you all leave." The school has a very strict no-electronic policy, which is somewhat understandable, but she has gone to the extreme to look through the messages on my phone and ask me who I was talking with. On another occasion, she took my phone and declined to return it when my mother asked her to, and proceeded to leave it in the office overnight. In a school with a student body with majority children of color, cultural competency should be encouraged. There was nothing of the sort taught at SciCore Academy. During a morning assembly, she told her students to suppress their heritage instead of proclaiming it, saying "You're not Indian-American, you're not Chinese-American, you're American for Pete's sake!" Instilling this mindset into children as young as Pre-K is inappropriate and honestly disgraceful. Being a white person, I was favored much more than my darker-skinned peers by her - she often singled my South Indian friend out and verbally abused her frequently. (That is not my story, so I will not speak over her.) Fostering a toxic environment for children like this, first, is not right, and second, not her responsibility. There are so many stories that I could share but as a college student I no longer wish to dig further. I hope Danette and Arthur reevaluate their values and understand the harm they have imposed and are imposing on their young student body. read more

I am writing this review for parents who are interested in a private school and want the best education for their children. My 2 children started going to SciCore Academy 8 years ago. Since the beginning I felt that something is different about this school. The difference is caring and attention. Every child at SciCore Academy is treated as if he or she is a member of the family. Dr Poulos and Mrs Poulos care deeply for our children. All teachers there provide individual approach in educational process. They bond with students and find the way to make subject more interesting. Level of education provided at SciCore Academy is outstanding, and way above compare to public schools. Another very important factor is that all School staff including the principal are easily accessible. If I have any questions, I can just easily pick up the phone or send an email. Great education and morals are extremely important to me and that is why i trust above School with my kids. read more

Our son has attended SciCore Academy for the past several years, and we have overall been very satisfied with his education there. He was able to learn a second language beginning in third grade, and has been able to enhance both his math and verbal skill set at a high level. He has received individualized attention in order to focus on his strengths which will be a tremendous asset moving into his high school and college years. read more
