The oil spots that showed up after 1st visit

what started as a convenient and affordable simple basic oil change under $25 basically ended up costing me over $200 total to fix their mistake. Brought my car in September for an oil change. Decided to invest in premium amsoil and filter and crush washer as my car is getting close to 80k miles and I want to sustain its life. Oil change went smoothly, paid cash and left tip. Then a few days later noticed oil spots in my personal space at my complex as well as at work. Engine bay also had oil spilled by filter.Gave it a few days just to see if it would work itself out, month later still leaking, decided to call and see if they could take a look. Scheduled time off again, went and explained my issues again. Here is where communication is important. I mentioned I think it's dripping from the drain plug. Somehow that got misconstrued as me saying "it always leaks from the drain plug "Again, it's never leaked oil before. I could get video from my complex showing the oil spots accumulating literally after both visits. Literally the same day after the 2nd visit more oil spots. What sense would it make for me to say it leaks all the time just to turn around and say I think it's leaking due to your service performed inadequately? Took it into Subaru today, per Subaru (photo attached) The drain plug was installed without any gasket leading it to leak. Had the pleasure of paying for another oil change and filter and gasket. Total spent on amsoil, the 1st oil change and now 2nd oil change, over $220. Maybe the oil changes here haven't been on any Subarus but I definitely wouldn't bring a Subaru here.

When she tries to tell you this, she is told by the advisor that the people at AutoZone don't know anything. So, thinking you might make it right, she takes it back to you, for you to give her another estimate for another $1000.00 dollars to replace the rear heater core, something your first $3100.00 dollar estimate said you already replaced? When she asks about it, the responding text message says ,"Im sorry to hear that we will bring the car to the front for pickup". I don't even want to mention the fact that when asked about the upsale of the tune up, she declined, but the "repairs" were done anyway, and charged for, but i think that information is relevant to this cause. Also, how do you tell her you use only Mopar parts. "Dodge parts are more expensive, but that's what we use." and then give an estimate with aftermarket part numbers? I sure hope we don't have any trouble with the transmission in the future, as you had to remove it to change out a coolant hose. Lord only knows what excuse we'll get on that. All in all, I thought she finally found a place to trust with her vehicles, turns out we were way wrong! I do understand this was a moderately difficult job to do, and I do sympathize with that to an extent. I know what it is like to order parts and get them in damaged and have no control over that. The lack of professionalism and the feeling of her being taken advantage of is what I don't understand. Please enlighten me. Definitely don't recommend this place at all. If I could leave no stars I would. Don't bring your vehicle here, unless you want to buy everything twice and for twice what it should cost. To say all that, the job is paid for in full. No money is owed. We will not be returning to this facility, not even for a complimentary oil change/service.(That we were not offered.) I've used Firestone stores for about 20 years for routine maintenance like oil changes, fluid…read moreservices like coolant and AC, brakes, tires, alignment (they have a great $99 LIFETIME (per car0 alignment deal that pays for it self the second time you use it - I have bought this service for all my cars), and Complete Vehicle Check-up. Be aware that service, once you are checked in, is pretty slow. Oil changes typically take 1.5 hours, so I bring work if I wait, or if its brakes or something else i drop the car off for the day. Although the shops vary in quality, and management turnover at stores is pretty frequent, adding to the variables. In the past, I've typically been able to find ones near me that do a good job, but just as often I have hit a poorly managed store - and sometimes a store I have used in the past has a management change and service takes a real nose-dive. In San Antonio, however, I have not had much luck with the stores - at least those on the SE side. Service has been poor, they got my contact records all screwed up and it took 3 store visits and a call to corporate customer service to get it fixed. And work quality is between OK and questionable. The only store so far that I was satisfied with was the one at 2400 SW Military Dr, San Antonio, TX 78224. They fixed my records, gave good quality service and fairly timely - oil change and brake flush took less than 2 hours pretty fast for Firestone. Regarding routine services recommendation: I found that if I stuck to just the routine services, service quality was pretty reliable. I use the Complete Checkup because several times they have identified more serious problems that needed attention. They always provide a service estimate. HOWEVER, I learned early-on **never** to have them do the actual work because their tech turnover is too high, and none - or very, very few - are knowledgable or skilled enough for the serious work. Instead I find highly reliable and honest service shops **from referrals** that specialize in my particular car brand or country of origin (Japanese, German, etc), and get their opinions and quotes. I have had a lot of success handling repairs this way, saving a lot of money and getting higher quality results.

I was assisted by a courteous guy & told 1hr -1 1/2 hr wait. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. Things were moving along until they put my car on the lift. It was there forever. I finally had to walk up to the desk & ask what's going on. That seemed to get them moving until one guy was going to try & tell me my tire wasn't patch able. His coworker told him it was & they eventually fix it. Overall, the service was slow & one worker was going to try & sale me a new tire when mine was fixable. So beware. I did appreciate that they were open on Sunday.
