I have been trying for three weeks now to get a simple statement showing my payments to MFCC for FSA substantiation and just now received an email bounceback that their office is closed all week. Firstly, it's impossible to reach the front desk - voicemail only. Then they call you back from an unlisted number, so it's impossible to know who is calling. Argh. Then, the doctor requires that you submit new patient paperwork via email for her to review before you are allowed to make an appointment. The reason given is that she might decide she doesn't think you fit in her practice. It then takes a week to hear back after emailing over the paperwork. after which, you need to follow up with them, if you want an appointment. No courtesy call the day before to remind you there's an appointment, so you call to see what's doing there and have to let it ring out and call again. Receptionist answers finally and confirms yes, you do have an appointment. You arrive 10 minutes early, then wait until 25 mins past the start of your appointment time to speak with the Doctor. The Doctor is thorough and nice (if quite defensive about being called out for being so late). Attempts by staff to draw blood - the student MA's attempt is painful and she aborts mission. (Bruise is already looking pretty gnarly) Bring in the senior tech to have a go at the other arm - who can't find a vein and aborts mission after digging around for a bit. At this stage, I've been at their office for 1 Hr 40 mins. They tell me they will write a script to go to a lab and have blood drawn. Knowing my personal compliance level to find the time to drive to yet another appointment is very low, tell them not to bother. Needless to say, despite friendly student medical assistant and thorough/friendly Doctor, I'm still in the market for a new GP. A busy schedule, low tolerance for being gratuitously poked with needles and a general aversion to waiting = this probably isn't the right place for me.

I have been with Dr. Carr for many years and she is one of the most caring and friendly doctors I have ever been to. She makes it feel like a true family doctor visit. Horrible Experiences- I'm writing this as a daughter who had to step in and advocate for her mother…read moreafter months of being ignored and dismissed by this clinic. My mom first reached out to this office about severe pain back in December, and from the beginning, she was not taken seriously. She described her symptoms in detail, explained the pain, and even told the provider she couldn't sleep lying down because of how bad it was. Instead of offering appropriate care, she was literally told by someone (possibly a nursing assistant) to try sleeping in a lawn chair rather than being referred for proper imaging or tests. An X-ray and EKG were done--even though she clearly said she didn't think it was her heart. She asked for more imaging and was denied. At her next appointment, the physician didn't even remember what she had told them. They pointed to a completely different area than what she had described. How does that happen unless no one's listening? To make things worse, they took blood and made her wait 12 days to get results. Twelve days. That is unacceptable. I finally went with her to an appointment and demanded they take her seriously. Only then did she get the imaging she should have had months earlier. That scan showed a mass the size of a grapefruit near her kidneys. We found this out through the patient portal -- no one called. No urgency. No explanation. Nothing. This turned out to be stage 4 Lymphoma. And if that wasn't enough, she was referred to an oncologist who was out-of-network. So now, on top of dealing with a potentially serious diagnosis, we had to navigate insurance issues and start over trying to find someone else in-network -- all because this clinic didn't do their job properly. This is negligent, unprofessional, and honestly, dangerous. My mom could have been left in serious harm if we hadn't pushed and demanded better care. She now feels unsafe continuing care at this clinic, and we are switching providers immediately. Your patients deserve to be heard. My mother deserved to be treated like a human being -- not brushed off, delayed, and sent to the wrong specialist.

Having worked in healthcare myself for over ten years, I know you're never going to get the same…read morelevel of care at a health system connected office than a doctor with a private practice or a naturopathic practitioner. It's never really the providers fault, but the structure they're a part of that leads to overwhelmed staff and appointments so short serious issues or diving into someone's symptoms end up undiagnosed for years and you're in the hospital. I've only been here a couple of times and the experience left much to be desired. A first patient appointment bills more than 400$ to your insurance for 10 minutes or less of face to face time. Not only highway robbery, but not close to enough time to feel comfortable with a provider to discuss your concerns or issues. I have had some more serious concerns to share and they were not addressed during the very first appointment, it was more of an in and out the door ASAP experience, with unhelpful and irritable front desk staff to top it off. Overall, I recommend seeing primary care elsewhere, a private practice if you can ever find one, and supplement with a naturopath to focus on your functional health and aiming for peak energy vs only receiving care when you finally reach a chronic disease. Every appointment I've had with mine has been a full hour with a range of holistic health focus, from mental, to physical, to sleep. That's how healthcare should be.

I am not understanding the low rating for this facility…read more My family has been going here for three years. My husband goes to Dr. Babson. My son and I see R. Benninger and my daughter goes to Dr. Erickson. For my daughter, Dr. Erickson was the first doctor to listen to her issues, actually diagnose her condition and treat it - not just tell her to lose weight and exercise more. After her first appt with Dr. Erickson, she called me crying saying she finally felt heard and is getting the treatment she needs. I have been seeing R. Benninger and every time, I walk away feeling heard and all of my issues are addressed. I never feel rushed or like I am a burden. My husband has a spinal issue and Dr. Babson helps him with daily care and ensuring that his medications are accurate. The Staff is excellent. Everyone is very nice, and super helpful. I love that this office offers so much in house care. Lab work can be done here, along with Physical therapy, counseling, weight loss, and so much more. I encourage anyone looking for a new doctor to try this location.

I can't believe I'm being told I need to make an appointment just to get a refill of my medication…read more I thought Southwest Family Physicians was supposed to help patients--not create extra barriers and extra costs. I'm actively trying to reduce my healthcare expenses, but your refill process forces me to pay for appointments I shouldn't need. On top of that, even scheduling is a hassle--half the time I'm on hold for 10-20 minutes just to talk to someone. Honestly, it's faster for me to get in my car and drive to the clinic than wait for someone to answer the phone. This is frustrating, unnecessary, and it feels like the clinic is more interested in billing for appointments than helping patients get the medication they already take. I need this fixed. Please explain why an appointment is required for a refill, and what you're going to do to make refills possible without forcing patients into extra visits and extra charges.

I think maybe that people in North Korea have a slightly harder time getting decent health care, but not much! The docs in our country typically don't make it very easy to approach them, even when insurance and other considerations aren't an issue. They're always available only during banker's hours or what-have-you, and VERY eager to get rid of you. Patient: My back really hurts! Doc: You have a cold. Go home and get some rest and plenty of fluids. You know, crap like that. MAN, I hate doctors... ...or, at least I did, until I met Dr. Silverman. Lemme tell you something about this guy: I called his office one night complaining of really bad pain in my throat. It was about 5pm on a Friday night and I had no idea who to go to - the emergency room is never a help ANYWHERE, so I chanced across Dr. Silverman's name in the yellow pages. His staff was very friendly and squeezed me in THAT NIGHT so I could see the doc, who even though it was close to time for the office to close by my appointment (they close at 7, thank the moons!) still stayed to talk with me... ...and man, did he ever! Not only did he find out what was wrong and prescribe antibiotics, he sat down and talked with me at length about my entire medical history, helping me to get some help with other issues that I had always wanted help with! He was kind, attentive, and made me feel like a valued patient that he actually had a vested interest in healing! Imagine that! Dr. Silverman, you are a credit to your profession, and I am very thankful that I have found a physician as great as yourself!
