So I paid for the item and the shipping and the shipping back to the company. They didn't contact me until I asked where my refund is. I got a Steve that replied back to me saying that I hooked it up. This guy has no idea what he is doing and they kept my item (even though now I don't need or want it.) plus all the money. Ordered a dryer replacement heating element that was listed as NEW on the website. Upon arrival (July 2020), I installed the heating element and it worked fine for 1 year and 8 months (March 2022). The part failed (burned out) and I removed to inspect, and realized one side of the coil was SOLDERED to the connection instead of crimped. An OBVIOUS altering of the part and therefore NOT new. The actual NEW OEM element worked for over 12 years. I did not think to closely look over a part I received labeled as new but I supposed I should have. Contacted McCombs via email and received very short, very rude responses throughout. Did not receive any reimbursement, repair, or exchange for the part. Yes, it was outside of their return and warranty window but it was also a mis-described part. Would not recommend this business for any needs. Great experience ordering a new bathroom fan motor. My bathroom's fan died after 25 years of loyal and brave service. The fan was originally put in during construction and it was a cheap "contractors' special" fan (though it did last 25 years). Because of the fan's small size and no access to the attic, I was very limited on full replacement options. Rather than buy a new fan unit and having to shoehorn it into the bathroom ceiling (including wiring) I though maybe I could just swap out the old motor and replace it with a new one.. I was at a disadvantage because a previous homeowner removed the fan model number sticker and the motor didn't have any part number on it.. I spend a day researching bathroom fan parts from the late 90's and finally found the motor at McCombs that looked exactly like my fan's old motor. The part arrived quickly, faster than the expected delivery date. The part appeared to be the exact match to the original.. I was able to install it within 20 minutes. Fan works great. Just a note in general about buying replacement parts online and doing it yourself. You really need to make sure that you order the right part and be willing to "make it work" if need be. For example, the motor I ordered was just the part. I had to use the existing grounding wire, washers, nuts from the old motor to make it work perfectly. There was no instruction manual, so you have to figure it out yourself or read reviews or watch videos to assist installation. Not a big deal for most people. read more

Few times have I been so disappointed with an online retail purchase that I would leave a 1 star review. But McCombs leaves me little option for the following reasons: 1 star on their communication with customer 1 star on level of integrity (not fulfilling their promise to their customers as stated in their return conditions on their website.) 1 star on their quality control: receiving an appliance motor that was totally non-operational out of the box, obviously non-functional as the rotor could not even be turned a full 360 degrees. The rotor was making hard contact with the armature after about a 180 degree manual revolution. 1 star on overall interactions with retail customer * very difficult to contact by telephone: often unanswered, when I did leave a message on their answering service, no follow up response. * extremely long turnover times on orders and transaction resolutions. * emails left unanswered. read more

The first time the order went through Google Express. Not even sure how that happened. Wrong part was sent. Struggled to get a refund but I got it. Then, tried again - making sure I dealt with McCombs Supply directly. Called to give model number and place my order with a human-- thinking that that would guarantee success. However, they sent wrong part AGAIN. Then, they wanted me to send it back, at my expense, if I wanted a refund. (I should not have to package up their error, drive to mail it and pay for shipping to boot.) I told them to send me a prepaid shipping label if they wanted it back-- NO RESPONSE. Well I ordered a inducer motor and did the cross reference and even sent a message to ask if it was the correct one, they assured me it was so I ordered it and installed it and it ran but messed up my whole furnace and had to have a new furnace installed so instead of this 240.00 part it cost me 2800 for a new furnace because it fried computer or circuit board in furnace! Just because it matches up doesn't mean it's the correct part! Never ever again! I am also disputing the charge with my bank because of this!! read more
