I would have done one in the back as well but we wanted something poured. In the back, we had custom railings made from Valley Unit Step, partly because they fit perfectly to our poured slab steps, and also because we just felt far more comfortable having professionals install the railings. It only took about a month for them to fabricate the handrails for our back stoop, and they installed our front steps and back railings at the same time. They are both beautiful and we are very happy with the work. I was so happy I even had to call and ask for my bill so I could pay for the fantastic service! If you need steps consider concrete (I'm from the south and just don't understand why anyone would have a wood deck in this climate). Take a look at Valley Unit Step!
