Shepard pie and Irish beef stew
    Tiffany L.

Only came here because I wanted Guinness and I needed something to eat before watching Oh Mary! The food...was okay. I got the Shepard pie and my fiancé got the Irish beef stew. They were pricy, but that's Times Square. The portions were pretty fair, but the beef in the Irish stew was dry and the ground beef in the Shepard pie was too tough. The potato layer was nice and soft, but overall I found the inside to be a bit too salty.

Cutest Irish Pub. Our bartender was fantastic! She was funny and attentive. Decorated for Christmas so super cute and cozy inside. Reuben sandwich is phenomenal. It's open faced and the corned beef is made in house.

I thought it was going to be more touristy due to it being so close to NYC. I was pleasantly wrong. I felt it was very cozy and authentic with the menu, decor, and live music. Service was quick and attentive.

Made the choice (on our first night in NY) based on this very yelp page and the images of the Shepherd's Pie and Irish Stew. Let me tell you, they lived up to the hype! SOOOOO GOOOOD! Also, my picky 15 year old lucked out because the very kind staff made her an off-menu item grilled cheese with French fries to go along with her Shirley Temple Everyone was so nice and welcoming, the upstairs (open to the street) was such a fun vibe, and we truly just had the best experience!

Great service, very friendly staff that was very Irish. When we walked in it stunk like fish. Drinks were strong and much appreciated after the Times Square madness..

Great place to escape the lunacy of the Times Squate crowd! Holy moly. Stop by and have a Guinness for fecks sake!

When you walk in, you are welcomed by this lovely, cozy pub. The atmosphere is excellent and reminds me of when I was in Europe. The staff is fantastic and very welcoming. I got the McCarthy burger. It was a nice burger; the flavor was good. I did think it was a bit dry. Overall, I am glad that we picked this place. It has excellent pub food and vibes.

This was my first time here which is wild because it's across the street from my job and pubs typically have great wings... and you guessed it, i'm a sucker for wings. Before a show, my mom and I stopped by this spot for some food. We were greeted warmly by the staff and taken care of the entire night. It was a very pleasant experience and the vibe was great in there. It was clean and made me want to come back for lunch when i'm working. I asked for extra crispy wings and for the buffalo sauce to be lightly added. They did it perfect. I was sooo happy i found a good wing spot. I'm sad they aren't closer to my home but I have two jobs on that street, so I'm in the area all the time! Can't wait to go back! :)

This is your standard multi-level Irish pub that you'll see in midtown/hells kitchen. We stopped in to grab a pre-show bite and to watch a soccer match. We sat on the ground level and ordered a few beers and some plates. The chicken curry with rice was pretty decent. Rice was a touch undercooked but the curry flavor was excellent, and I appreciated the generous portion, ample veggies and the fries on top. The flatbread special with salami was just ok. Not a flabread, but a more doughy mini pizza that reminded me of frozen pies from the grocery. Beer was good and the service was friendly and excellent. I'd say it's a decent choice for a casual stop for the midtown/times square area. Got bit up by mozzies while there, though I suppose it wasn't their fault.

Food was ok. It was late and we were walking by and decided to run in for some drinking and ended up getting some food. Loved the Shepards pie. Wings were just ok, tasted a little old like they have been sitting for a while then flash fried. Dessert was surprisingly good as well.

Service was great on this busy early Saturday evening. Food was also good. We were lucky enough to get a high top next to the bar to watch football on several TVs. Hard to go wrong with the ambience, food and drink selection in an Irish Pub in NY. However, stick with beer as my Texas Mule was pretty weak, even after the bartender enhanced it.

    French onion soup

Irish coffee was delicious and the presentation had a great classic touch. The French onion soup was simple but spot-on, with perfectly melted cheese on top. The atmosphere is fantastic -- especially with the Christmas theme, which really adds to the holiday vibe. Service was excellent and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Definitely worth a visit!

A place in Midtown, NYC to relax with a pint, cocktail, or drink of any kind. Burgers and Irish Faire on a near gourmet level.

It definitely has the vibe of a speakeasy, especially with the jazz band playing. We went with the brunch special which is $35 for bottomless drinks with the purchase of an entree. It pays off if you're having more than 2 drinks and we made sure we did! Bloody Mary's were excellent! The food here was outstanding. I had the 3 Eggs Any Style and my wife had the Breakfast Flatbread. Those dishes as well as our friends were well made and delicious. We're three young women in the service industry and still felt completely unwelcome--the hostess told us to find our own seating even though the sign said see hostess. The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

Warm lighting, good energy, and a chill crowd make it an easy place to hang whether you're starting your night or winding it down. One of the best parts is the menu. It's super affordable for NYC, but still delivers on quality. Everything feels simple, satisfying, and done right. We ordered the burger and fries, wings and fries, plus a margarita and a mojito. The burger was juicy and filling, the wings were flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy. The drinks were solid, refreshing, and exactly what you want at a spot like this. Location-wise, it's perfect. The Grizzly Pear is close to so many things, making it a great stop before or after exploring the neighborhood, catching up with friends, or heading to another spot nearby. The service really stood out too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing, which added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Overall, The Grizzly Pear is a great go-to if you want good food, decent drinks, a cool atmosphere, and fair prices all in one spot. Definitely a place I'd come back to again.

This was not a credit card fee (that I can understand). It is a "transaction fee" that is applied to all invoices. Are you kidding me! I have no trouble paying a an extra dollar for a burger. They had outdoor seating along 9th ave and 51st street. We sat inside at a hightop , along their big open windows of 9th; great in between of inside and outside. Plenty of options for a big or small group, or solo! Our server was McKenna, who was incredibly attentive, we never felt like we were waiting or had to wave anyone down. The food came quickly, and was great. Nothing that changed our lives, but hot, quick, and delicious. I can see this becoming a regular spot for when we can't decide on where to go and just want somewhere dependable and consistent. Inside is like a typical Irish pub: long bar, wood everywhere, comfy high tops and booth seating along the wall. Keep in mind that it is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, so they will be playing the major sport of the season. The volume isn't too loud though, enough to hear, but don't need to cover your ears. The bottomless option on the weekend is great, 2-3 drinks and you get your money's worth. The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
