This was my experience today:…read more 7:15 am I called to inquire about brake services. I was forwarded to a technician who gave me a consult, rough quote, and am 11am appointment time. 10:30 am I arrived at Murphy's and checked in with a cashier, and was connected with Dan, who serviced the car. Dan was able to take my car within 10 minutes, and took the car for a test drive and got it in the garage for an inspection. 11:00am Chuck came to offer me the specific fix that needed to be done on my front brakes, and advised me on the remaining life expectancy of the rear brakes. As all that was needed was the front brakes, Chuck told me I'd be out in roughly an hour. I asked if they could change the oil as well, and he agreed. I inquired on the price, and Chuck told me specifically. I inquired about with him about an ATM on site, as I would need one to do a bank transfer. Since there is no ATM there, Chuck offered me a loaner car to go take care of the banking needs. I was given the keys, and I took care of my business. 12:15pm Dan took the car for a test drive, and returned the vehicle right in front of me. He explained the status of the repairs done and wished me well. I paid the cashier, and was treated with kindness. 12:30pm I left Murphy's. My last bit of context: Two days ago my brakes started making noises. As I'm not a mechanical kinda guy, I was nervous about what needed to happen. My wife needed to leave out of state today, and take our only car for her brother's funeral. Of the four shops I called this morning, Murphy's was the most cost-effective, and had the most pleasant demeanor over the phone. I had never been to Murphy's before, and I was concerned about being held up longer than needed to be. I was given kind, calming, and professional service throughout my entire experience. Chuck's character, as well as the character from his staff are similar to the small town I grew up in... even though we're right on the edge of the city. I'm grateful for an incredibly calming, positive, and professional experience today. I'll be back for other services, in the future as my car needs.

The owner has no idea what he is doing with Nintendo systems. I took my perfectly working handheld in for d-pad membrane replacement. He took the battery out before powering down my handheld which caused the motherboard to fail. Additionally, he ripped the ribbon cable for the joystick and left it hanging on by a thread. Not only that, but I watched him lose covers for pin pads. Gross incompetence and total arrogance. He disparaged my friend who is a programmer and engineer saying she is a "home technician." He said he will order a new motherboard. From where??? It's a vintage console imported from Japan! I gave him several days and it still was not fixed. I decided to just pick up my now fried 3DS. When I pick it up, he has now seemed to lose one of the plugs for the back and also did not put my custom dust protector cartridge in the game slot!!!! I should have known better than to trust him when there's a Bitcoin machine and all his products are in disarray and dirty. There was also a man who brought in an XBox that had been waiting for 2 weeks and he still did not have it done. I came here 3 times and each time he make me wait 30-45 minutes. If I could give NO stars I would. Not only that, but he has some horrible AI phone answering service.

Informed them of the issue and that it was not an emergency since I also had a gas fireplace and the outside temps were unseasonably warm (high 30's). They got a tech to my house in 3 hours. Very good. Tech immediately diagnosed problem as a failed igniter, and informed me that it was a $500 part. Total repair bill was $667 to install a $40 part that took no more than 10 minutes to install. I have since found out that the igniter only costs $40, not $500! Total repair bill was $667 to install a $40 part that took no more than 10 minutes to install! I talked with the owner and he first tried to justify the 10X markup by saying it is to defray the admin costs at his facility. Must be very inefficient if they have that large of admin costs. Then he stated that this is the standard charge by most reputable organizations. I contacted a few other reputable HVAC organizations to confirm and found that they would charge about $350 for this repair, not the $667 that I paid. The people at Countryside were very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with but beware of the "price gouging" that they do. I paid $667.00 for a repair that costs only $350.00 at other HVAC service companies.
